And, lo, the entire civilized world bows down in reverent obedience to the command of the holy Catholic Church." -Father Enright, American Sentinal, June 1893. 7th day Sabbath = (Exo.20:8-11) 1st day Sunday = (Mark 7:7) The WORD teaches 7th day is holy! @applesauce.6011It absolutely fits the context. Verse 1: In the beginning ELOHIM (plural) created the heavens and the earth. Verse 2: The Spirit (RUACH Ha-KODESH) swam across the face of the deep. Verse 3: ELOHIM said, "Let there be Light!" And ELOHIM saw that the Light was Good. Christ says "I Am the Light of the world!"
John 1 King James Version 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
This becomes sooo beautiful once you tie it with John 1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not” It was not just any light. That light was symbol of where our life comes from!
The whole chapter is amazing and tied to Genesis! Looking at the 1st 2 chapters of the Gospel of John It’s very clear that Christ is God. Both books start with “In the beginning” Look at the length of time mentioned in John 1 So we have Day 1 (implied).. then The next day (Day 2) he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29, ESV) The next day ( Day 3) again John was standing with two of his disciples, (John 1:35, ESV) The next day (Day 4)Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, "Follow me." (John 1:43, ESV) On the third day (Day 7) there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. (John 2:1, ESV) Genesis 1 begins with creation week that climaxes on the 6th day with a wedding (7th day God rested). John lays out a full week that also ends in a wedding. The same God who brought Adam and Eve together, turned water into wine at the wedding in Cana.

That's not exactly what it says: Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. The Lam, who isn't God, is the lamp. Just like in Revelation 5. The only one who is worshipped sits on the throne: And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever. In the throne room, there was a celebration because the Lamb returned triumphantly after having completed the task that God sent him to complete. Like in days of old, a prince being celebrated after a victory in battle. The whole town would celebrate, along with the king. Jesus/the Lamb is never worshipped. He died and was raised from the dead. The One who is worshipped sits on the throne and lives forever and ever. Amen.

Amen! There are passages where God speaks in the first person in the Old Testament, and Jesus will quote these in the first person about himself. He will claim things that are titles of God alone about himself and tells us he can not only hear our prayers but has the ability to answer them too. Psalm 95:7 - for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if only you would hear his voice, Isaiah 43:13 - Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?” Deuteronomy 32:29 - “See now that I myself am he! There is no god besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand. Two of these are God speaking in the first person, one about God. John 10:27-30 Jesus speaking, - 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all[a]; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.” It continues to 33 with the Jewish audience picking up stones to kill Jesus, he asks for what good works do you stone me, and they say not for good works, but you being a man make yourself out to be God. John 8:58, Jesus said that before Abraham was, I AM, which is what God told Moses his name was. John 1:1,14 Jesus is the Word who was there in the beginning with God, and who was God, who took on flesh and dwelt among us. A human being is what I am. trenititybrehm is who I am. God is what the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit are. One God, who is three people. The only reason the Trinity exists is because scripture teaches that the Father is God, Jesus is God, and that the Holy Spirit is God. Jesus said, "Destroy this temple (meaning his body) and in three days, I will raise it up!" He did not say his Father would raise him, although the Father and the Holy Spirit are each explicitly given credit for raising Jesus. Isaiah 43:11, God said there is no savior besides him. Titus 3:6 Jesus is called our Saviour. John 6:46, Jesus says no one has seen the Father, yet Abraham spoke face to face with God in Genesis 18:19, Moses spoke face to face with God in Exodus 33:11 and Moses and the elders of Israel went up Mount Sinai and saw the God of Israel seated on a throne and ate with him. Jacob wrestled with God in Gensis 32:22-32. Jesus is the one who ascends and descends out of heaven and the appearances of God throughout the Old Testament is Jesus. This is why he said before Abraham was, I am in John 8:58 Gensis 19:24 "Then the LORD rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah-from the LORD out of the heavens." When LORD is all caps it's using God's holy name in Hebrew, and Abraham was just pleading face to face with God to not destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. Gen 19:24 says Yahweh rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah from Yahweh out of heaven. Jesus is the Yahweh who spoke to Abraham face to face and called sulfur and brimstone out of heaven from Yahweh the Father. Jesus is God with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus IS the Messiah friend. The Trinity is what scripture taught from the beginning because it is from the scripture that the idea of the tri-unity between the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit as being God teaches. Not something come up with later. Mark 1:1-4, the very first verses of the very first chapter of what is cited as the very first Gospel calls Jesus God. It refrences Isaiah 40:3 and Malachi 3:1 where Yahweh says he will send his messanger who will be like a voice in the wilderness to make the way before he himself comes to his temple. Mark says John is that voice in the wilderness, making the way for Jesus. John 1:23 and Luke 3:4 also say the exact same things. In Mark 10:18, Jesus said,"Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God." Meaning: "You call me good when only God is good, do you understand what you are calling me?" To further the point, Christ then lists the 6 commandments that relate to how people deal with each other and asks the man if he's followed those. The man says yes. Then, instead of listing the 4 commandments on how to relate to God and asking if he's followed those, Jesus tells the man, "Follow me," because following and worshiping Christ is following and worshiping God. In Mark Jesus heals the paralytic man, but first, he tells him your sins are forgiven. The Pharisees around thought in their hearts this was blasphemy, because only God can forgive sins. Jesus instantly know what they were thinking and called them out on it, and said to prove to you I can forgive sins, get up and walk and the paralytic could walk. Jesus proved he is God for only God can forgive sins, only God knows the hearts of men (Jerimiah 11:20 and 17:10), and only God can heal people. Jesus did all three IN MARK'S GOSPEL, which is often considered the oldest of the four. Read Hebrews 1:8-12. Old Testament scriptures are quoted that are talking about God creating the universe, and Hebrews 1:8-12 quotes them and attributes the Father calling Jesus God, the Lord who created the everything, who is eternal. Hebrews 1:10-12 Is directly quoting Psalm 102:25-27, where the Psalm is talkling about Yahweh (God) and Hebrews is talking about Jesus, the Son.
Do not judge other people, lest you be judged yourself. God judges everyone. If someone slaps you. Offer them the other cheek to slap. Love everyone. Except for homosexuals. Even if you believe that God judges people. Don't join in. Before you look for splinters in others eyes. Take the plank out of your own.
The bible writers didn't know that the sun was a star like all the other points of light in the night sky, they didn't know that the earth orbited the sun, and it's arguable that they thought the earth was flat. That's why the bible doesn't match what we know now about astronomy.
@@bibleburner8426 the bibble writers weren't ordinary people, moses was the Prince of Egypt and talked to God on a daily basis, David was a king anointed by God, Solomon was the wisest person to walk the earth, the prophets were chosen by finger by God to guide his people, mathew was a tax collector and knew multiple languages, these people weren't some random people with basic knowledge. You know what the average doesn't always mean everyone in the sample size will be the same. @@joshuadevaughn8613 It depends on the context of that discussion. You can reasonably discuss the literary style. You can reasonbly explore the historical events on which it touches and distinguish between those which we have reason to believe as more or less accurate and those which clearly didn't happen at all (the enslavement of the Israelites in Egypt and resulting exodus, the great Flood, the creation of the Universe as described in Genesis are all examples of those). It's less well-suited to discussions of morality (as a guide to morality the Bible is contradictory, confusing and often just plain at odds with what modern sensibilities would consider morality). It's unreasonable to discuss the Bible from the premise that it is (a) true, (b) historically accurate or (c) a sound basis for someone's worldview. It's even more unreasonable when, as is often the case, the Bible is presented as evidence for the claims in the Bible.

The phrase "let there be" as used in Genesis 1 in Hebrew is the same word used for I AM as used in Exodus 3. It is not stretch to say that when God said "let there be light," he was also saying something equivalent to "I am light." If that is the case, then it is a certainty that the light that was given before the sun moon and stars were created was, in fact, God himself.

Those who have had “Near Death Experiences” claim to witness a light so bright the Sun pales in comparison. We live a mysterious existence, in an infinite universe, where time has no beginning and space has no end yet we keep trying to have everything neatly packaged in our feeble, finite minds.🙏🏼
If they saw a light brighter than the sun they wouldn't be able to see. The afternoon sun is bright enough to blind us. The universe as we know it is not infinite. This is known. There could be a multiverse that approaches infinity, but our universe is finite. Time does have a beginning. Time started at the beginning of the big bang. Also, if it didn't it would be much harder for you to explain creation according to your fables. The spacetime of our universe does have an end. Again, our universe is finite. It seems your feeble and finite mind needs to learn a bit more about our current scientific knowledge. You're trying to apply a god of the gaps argument using things you fail to understand because you haven't obtained enough knowledge to speak to the points you're making.
Time started almost 14 billion years ago. And the flash is from intense over activation of the brain caused from cardiac arrest. I'm not saying that means God didn't do it. I'm just saying that stuff ain't mysterious. But it is in fact very cool (in my opinion of course).
The archeology matches the Bible perfectly all the way from Genesi s through the New Testament. We have the writing of the disciples of the Apostles and the disciples of those disciples, and they not only quote much of the New Testament, but all the core idea of Christianty are present. Jesus being God, the Son of God, dying for sins, burial, resurrection, ascension to heaven. We also have writing of Jewish and Pagan contemporary historians who were hostile towards Jesus, who say the same things : Jesus being worshipped as God, the Son of God, dying for on the cross, burial, resurrection. It's mainly because of the archeology, "friendly" writers, and "hostile" writers mentioned above that the Jesus Seminar, who are PhD level ashiest/agnostics who study Christ and the Bible, concluded that Jesus really lived in Judea 2,000 years ago, was known as a miracle workers, died on the cross under Pilate, and that his disciples really believed they had seen him risen from the dead. The fact that there are contradictions between manuscripts is often sited as proof against trusting scripture, when it actually does the opposite. The fact that there are so many manuscripts makes it easy to tell when someone changed one, and modern Bibles are transparent about any differences in the footnotes. None of those differences found between manuscripts change anything about any core doctrines of Christianity, they are mainly a handwriting error on a letter or a different way to word something that means the same thing. There is also all the undisigned coincidence between not only the four Gospels, but the rest of the New and Old Testaments too. Matthew 2:22 talks about Joseph not wanting to return to Judea after fleeing to Egypt because Archelaus was ruling. That's all the info on that the Bible gives. Josephus, the Jewish historian, tells us about the things Archelaus did and how evil he was. Put these two peices of evidence together, we get the full picture. This sort of thing happens through the text with the seemingly useless details matching up perfectly with extra Biblical sources, lending to the credibility of the text. The Apostles willingness to be killed not for saying they believed Jesus had risen, but they knew he had risen, because they saw him. If the tomb wasn't empty, they would've paraded the body around to stomp out any idea of Jesus being ressurrected, but Christianty spread because there was no body in the tomb. If someone stole the body, why were nearly all the Apostles willing to be killed for saying they'd seen Jesus risen? They were thousands of miles away from one another before phones and the internet and were being threaten, tortured, and murdered for their claim. Not one "broke" and said it was a lie to save themselves. It's because of the evidence that I believe in Jesus. The universe is not infinite. Space, time, and matter had a begining.

"I am speaking to you in human terms because of your natural limitations." God was making it very clear; evening and morning, these things we understand. They were 24 hour periods of time from day to day. God created everything in 6 days, not 6 billion years.
If God spoke to us in human terms so we could understand it, who’s to say that he’s actually talking about 24 hour periods? I would imagine God is speaking about a unit of time of phenomenon that is HIS equivalent of a day. Who’s to say 1 day for God is not 1 billion years? Would that be so far fetched? Human beings were the ones that determined how long a second is, and that there were 60 of them in a minute, and 60 minutes in an hour, and 24 hours in a day, and I don’t know what the history behind the reasoning of this is but you can imagine it must’ve had to do with very earthly considerations. Does, whom is the ultimate being of the universe, use these same measurements to measure time for himself?
Revelation 22:5(KJV) And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
And the whole concept of absolutely nothingness suddenly became everything with each and every natural laws intact and precise that even a slight change in any of the existing constant and the universe never eixst at all, and all those happened by chance is an absolute ridiculous thing that can ever happen.
@@MS-qm7sn I get that you would not be willing to even entertain the idea of a creator/god if you believe that he was just invented out of nowhere. That’s not how it works for me. I believe in Jesus Christ and that he was crucified and rose from the dead. There are historical accounts of both his life and resurrection. If a man lived his life saying he was the son of god and suffered the most horrific death and kept to that truth throughout that process, then was miraculously resurrected with historical testimonies of this. Then I believe what Jesus said during his life, so I believe in god. Much of our historical beliefs stand on testimonial evidence alone. I understand the thought of a man rising from the dead is hard to believe, I suppose any miracle is hard to believe, including sciences big bang theory which you could call a statistical miracle in itself. I do think with the testimonial evidence supporting Jesus’ death and resurrection plus the instant birth and rapid growth of Christianity from that point in time until today, it’s much easier for me to believe in a creator than the everything came from nothing Big Bang theory that science. It’s a fact that his crucifixion happened, do you think a liar would stick to the son of god story if it was a lie? I can’t see it personally. Many of the disciples were killed in similar ways but still didn’t deny their accounts.
Exactly. I’ve responded to this question from atheists the same way using the same verse from Revelation. There will be no need of the sun in the end just as there was no need of the sun in the beginning. Fun fact: the Hebrew word translated as “night” in Genesis 1:5 is “Layil” and it literally means to turn or twist something away from the light. Jesus is the light of the world!! Everything was created trough and for him.. (have i missunderstood something?)😮 How come bible scholars not know this simple thing??
God said, let there be light and he saw that it was good. That light was Jesus Christ. After that he said we made man in our own image after that it was plural because everything that was ever made was made through Jesus Christ

Many Christian’s believe that 1) it really doesn’t matter, because how the world got to be is insignificant as John 3:16 is the whole point of the Bible, and 2) there are a lot of Christian’s supporting evolution, or simply denying creationists. No he doesn't claim to. It's the Bible God's word that reveals it the source of his knowledge is God himself because God revealed himself through his word.
The archeolog y matches the Bible perfectly all the way from Genesis through the New Testament.

Language, instructional code, DNA/RNA, none of which comply in any fashion with the undirected, unguided, blind chance of natural selection, which has no foresight to the desired completion. A designer and Creator is the only logical explaination for the masterful work we see in everything. The adult human skeleton is made up of 206 bones. (Some count 212) 93 bones on the left side of the body are mirror duplicated on the right side of the body. The entire human skeleton demonstrates precision design and symmetry by the 93 matched pairs of bones. Therefore it is inconceivable for the blind, undirected processes of natural selection to build the MIRRORED, SYMMETRICAL skeletal frame of a human through unguided evolution, in fact a mathematical impossibility. The evidence for intelligent involvement is self-evident by its design. Unbelievable that with the science discoveries we have as of 2024, that anyone would dismiss a Creator.

Genesis 1 begins with creation week that climaxes on the 6th day with a wedding (7th day God rested).

There are passages where God speaks in the first person in the Old Testament, and Jesus will quote these in the first person about himself. He will claim things that are titles of God alone about himself and tells us he can not only hear our prayers but has the ability to answer them too.
Psalm 95:7 - for he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture,
the flock under his care.
Today, if only you would hear his voice,
Isaiah 43:13 - Yes, and from ancient days I am he.
No one can deliver out of my hand.
When I act, who can reverse it?”
Deuteronomy 32:29 - “See now that I myself am he!
There is no god besides me.
I put to death and I bring to life,
I have wounded and I will heal,
and no one can deliver out of my hand.
30 I and the Father are one.”
It continues to 33 with the Jewish audience picking up stones to kill Jesus, he asks for what good works do you stone me, and they say not for good works, but you being a man make yourself out to be God.
This is why he said before Abraham was, I am in John 8:58
Gensis 19:24 "Then the LORD rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah-from the LORD out of the heavens." When LORD is all caps it's using God's holy name in Hebrew, and Abraham was just pleading face to face with God to not destroy Sodom and Gomorrah.
(unless you are a priest..
Should you turn the other cheek, or offer the other cheek.

Should it be left up to 3yr olds?
@@ValRoyD exactly. Make believe is for 3 year olds

It is not stretch to say that when God said "let there be light," he was also saying something equivalent to "I am light." Those who have had “Near Death Experiences” claim to witness a light so bright the Sun pales in comparison.

And the whole concept of absolutely nothingness suddenly became everything with each and every natural laws intact and precise that even a slight change in any of the existing constant and the universe never eixst at all, and all those happened by chance is an absolute ridiculous thing that can ever happen.
If it’s ridiculous that God is the creator then surely you would say it’s even more ridiculous that absolutely nothing created everything?
@@Bwage No. Just because we don’t yet understand something scientifically doesn’t mean we should invent a ridiculous magic man to explain it.
This is possibly where the rotation of the earth began.

Only if you perceive ‘god’ as the event that gave birth to the universe as we currently know it.
But we’ve anthropomorphised that event to a conscious entity that watches over us and judges and sends ambiguous messages, allegedly, to prophets for mankind to war over for thousands of years. Even though we see complete absence of justice on planet earth, with the most god-fearing and altruistic people suffering & the most vile prospering.
We don’t deal with the idea of justice very well. I don’t believe there is any judgement after death. We are no longer conscious of the universe after death, just as we were not before our birth.

The archeolog y matches the Bible perfectly all the way from Genesis through the New Testament.
Im gonna need a source for the rotating ball earth? What is the firmament?

The earth isn't a spinning ball
The FIRMAMENT is the open sky, the same sky where the birds fly. It separates the "waters above" from the "waters below".

Otherwise, your comment would be valid. But with this added specification, we see that tjis historical portrayal showed a literal 24-hour period.

I marvel at how many people mindlessly still believe in Darwinism from the 1800s, a time when they thought a human cell was like a piece of jell-O. We now know a human cell is a manufacturing plant more complex than a whole city. Why? Language, instructional code, DNA/RNA, none of which comply in any fashion with the undirected, unguided, blind chance of natural selection, which has no foresight to the desired completion.
A designer and Creator is the only logical explaination for the masterful work we see in everything.
The adult human skeleton is made up of 206 bones. (Some count 212)
93 bones on the left side of the body are mirror duplicated on the right side of the body.
