So true. I saw an interview with Pat Morita sayig how he got the role of Mr Miyagi. The execs were totally against him getting the role...…….. until the casting director gave him a screentest. He was so good they didn't even realise he was the guy from happy days. Exec then telephoned Pat and told him he'd almost made the worst mistake of his professional life by not wanting him.
What the hell does this mean? It's like Jerry Seinfeld said in his stand-up special, people like you just like to repeat words because you have nothing else to say. When actors were actors. Business is business. Rules are rules. A deal's a deal. Whatever happens, happens and it is what it is.
Mr. Redford - not a bad actor - not very dynamic but gives a competent performance. The movie well was not very good - too much "nudge - nudge - say no more - know what I mean?" Tried to let the audience in on the funny jokes.
@Dennis Sir I am not a film scholar. If I knew that a fire-storm would erupt over my comments I would of said nothing. However there are three good things about the film - Strother Martin - no profanity - no nudity. Your remarks are well taken and set forth in a clear and understandable manner.
@Dennis When I was in attendance at the Hall of Ivy I was asked to pen movie reviews from time to time for the campus paper however I refused to do so less controversy erupt. Unless requested to do so a second time I could list several films that are probably on the best 100 list or should be. I did enjoy "Godfather".
@Daniel Natal "Pay or Die" 1960 "The Last Adventure" 1967 - 3 with Kirk Douglas "Ace in the Hole" - "The Bad and the Beautiful" - "Paths of Glory" - "El Cid" - "Ben Hur" and (being somewhat a Philistine) "God's Gun" in which Lee Van Cleef plays 2 parts!
He was perfect in that role.
Commie pretty boy sucks so does brad shit
The "Original.... Brad Pitt'.
If all the great Hollywood films had followed the advice of the executives, we'd now have a lot of lousy films

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid has a better "flow" to it than the other way around.
When actors were - actors.
Stupid statement. Everyone who's old makes this kind of statement. What? There are no good actors now? Idiotic statement.

It sounds better, “Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid.” Switch it around and it doesn’t scan.
Were the Hollywood lighting crews on strike?
Is that Leonard Maltin on stage with RR?
Sundance was the only movie with Redford that I liked.
Andrew Wietecki - You’ve never seen “The Sting”?
@@kato64 God, you're right. Forgot about that one.....
All The President's Men
Fantastic Western, (who are those guys)

@james malone if you enjoyed the motion picture please do not let my observations detract from your viewing pleasure.

@Daniel Natal These are a few of course. List a few of the movies you enjoy.
