Hi Sonia, Laura Harris Here. Just wanted to let you know about that strange brown sculpture piece with the little round spikes inside. It's a sort of vase or vessel for a flower arrangement. The little round spikey thing is called a "frog". It's for standing the flower stems onto it, thereby having control over the placement and arrangement of the flowers. But I hve to say, that particular vase is the weirdest I've seen . Very crude and rustic style. Have a lovely New Year celebration. And may we all have a happy and prosperous new year.
*TIDBIT:* personal experience, never give away your secrets to GW or ppl in the store. It's great that Matt is showing other ppl. However, that increases prices for ppl that just want something for their own collection.

It's actually a Japanese flower frog called an ikibana

Container was likely used for Ikebana as the container is shallow with the frog to hold stems.
