Personally, I think Goodwill should lose it's Charity status. They told me they "had" to jump all their prices when they found out some things were being purchased by resellers even though all or nearly all is free to them. This prices out the poor. The top brass make six figures salary, that's the real reason; so now I give to community charity shops instead. It's great to see what people can so with unwanted items. But GW is still too pricey for things they get for free. Don't get me wrong, I bought a lot from them when I lived near one. It's just a pet peeve that by the regulations today they would not be eligible for charity status. They got wind of the change when it happened and got their status permanent, I believe.
Goodwill drives me nuts. Every time I go in my local store, most things are really “trash” not “treasure” and usually more expensive then brand new at a store.
I agree with you! Their prices are way to high and most I could buy brand new at less or at least same price. I use to donate to them, but haven't in several years and now take it to my local salvation army.
@@gailbrown8710 I''m glad I'm not the only one. I wanted to buy a porcelain doll to make over for Halloween because whose face was broken not just cracked but pieces were inside the head and they wouldn't mark it down at all.

I have just stopped going to GW.. so what that resellers are buying. They clean, revamp things, ship things. Its work. I just walk out of there angry because they get pretty much everything for free. But people don’t care the poor get nixed out…they keep donating to them. Gw just stands back raking in the cash.😢
Our GW is higher than Walmart yet they stay packed all the time.

Stopped at Goodwill a couple days ago - 2.99 for a tea cup and saucer. I remember when they were 99 cents..
I live in Michigan too and the prices at the Thrift store are so high it takes the fun out of it for sure. There is only 1 close by as the Goodwill shut down last year. Next closest is 30 miles away. Ugg.

You passed up the cabinet with the 3 little drawers. A little white cabinet might have been like. You thought it was a jewelry box but you could paint it. Put something on it and I have one that I set my candle melt on and put my pods of my cubes of my candles in those little drawers and my lighter. So in my kitchen and it's really cute. You should have got that little cabinet with the 3 little drawers that was beside the.
I don't know whether it was the price or something. You just didn't like, but there was like a hanging lantern that they had put a little bird house in. I thought that was just so cute farmhouse. I would buy that if I came to your shop. I'm just saying if the price wasn't too much. That would have been a good eye to my thing for you to buy

I so wish our Salvation Army had a thrift store. I’ve pretty much given up on our Goodwill. Anything that is worth buy they mark up to close to retail! I might as well go to Hobby Lobby. I love the white pitcher you got and the tiered wire baskets. You got some great stuff. Thanks Kelly

I really enjoy your videos and I love to go thrifting too. One of my favorite places might have to go out of business because of the rent on the building and it’s a faith based ministry store. They have gone up on prices also.

Don't pass over the broken or dirty stuff. Ask for a lower price and fix it when you get home. Reselling the item after repairs should be a breeze.
The prices are higher, because of flippers...sorry to say! It makes it much harder for people who are poor and want something special for their homes!
