    The 987.2 base does not have DFI.

    • @invictusporsche
      @invictusporsche  3 года назад +5

      After a quick search over the internet, it appears you are correct. Thanks for this clarification, it appears the bigger engines in the 987.2s were DFI, and the smaller ones remained with the older injection systems

    20k pounds (23k EUR) for a 987.2 in The Netherlands is impossible to find. Good ones start at 35k EUR. :((

      Demand is high for Porsche’s in Europe and they are expensive. We are lucky here in England that these can be as cheap as they are

      Really, not so in Switzerland today, there are 3 cars on the market for btw 24000 to a low mileage 40000 car. But hey, I guess, I woudln‘t sell my car after watching this vid. 😂

      Over £300 a year cheaper in road tax. And if you drive normally it's great on fuel economy. Which I do occasionally! 😆

    987.2: 2009-2012 cayman S. perfect sports car... w/manual.
    slightly better looking and performance. significant improvement in engine reliability. been downhill every since, IMO.

      Fair point, since your comment we did get an S in stock which is coming in to us in the next few days. Will definitely do a review on that and will let you know what I thought of it 😊

      I've had a 987.2 Cayman S with PDK for the past few years. Excellent car in every way and haven't gotten close to exploiting its limits but would consider selling to upgrade to the new GTS 4.0 since they brought back the flat six. Might be the last of its kind, and to my taste looks better than the 987 generation.

      @@romulus_ thanks for sharing your experience. Definitely worth exploring its limit, maybe worth going to the Porsche Experience day at Silverstone. Would love to see pictures of your GTS 4.0 when it arrives

    Don't think my budget could stretch to a tidy gen2, however does seem almost like a good investment as these cars have almost flat lined in value, dont think u will find a better car for the money 🙌

    i HAVE THE 09 S 987.2 with sport chrono pkg and I added the after market TPC turbo. If porsche had presented this combination to the public every other car they offer would have stood behind it.

    3.4 S manual rarer.

  • @vforex3613
    @vforex3613 9 месяцев назад

    Agree. Better than any 911 and the last raw drive period. If you need more power very easy to do and the engine has the capacity in spades. The 3.4S will be a classic and Id never sell. There simply is nothing better on the road anywhere near the price.

    • @invictusporsche
      @invictusporsche  9 месяцев назад

      I think the 3.4 will be more appreciated in the years to come. Hope you are getting lots of fun out of it

    Facts is is a hidden gem but very low production numbers , I was lucky to find a 2012 manual ! One of a few hundred something ever made at least here in North America

    • @invictusporsche
      @invictusporsche  3 года назад

      Globally the production numbers were low as we now know and come to appreciate. Out of curiosity, I hear that in America some people seem to service their cars every 5,000 miles or every year. Is that the case?

    • @krassimirpetrov7131
      @krassimirpetrov7131 3 года назад +1

      Invictus Porsche People do service them every year at least with Porsche and I actually do change the oil ever 5k myself , but many others do as well(this only applies to Porsche owners , normal people never service their cars) . Is this not the case elsewhere ?

    • @invictusporsche
      @invictusporsche  3 года назад +1

      Unfortunately on this side of the pond we are told by Porsche to service them every two years or 20,000 miles. Many of the older Porsche’s pre 2008 are having to undergo a comprehensive engine rebuild and to be perfectly honest with you. I now know the underlying problem to why we have so many Porsche’s going through comprehensive engine related works.
      I visitier extended family living in California in November 2020, when I found out that my cousin services his Toyota every 5,000 miles or 6 months, I couldn’t believe it.
      Glad to hear that you take great care of your Porsche and atleast I have now genuinely learnt and confirmed something here 😊

    It's just our crappy roads it's not keen on.
