      Thank you very much, is there any videos of layout on your channel? If so I’ll have to check them out.

    So glad you ditched the curved point. Better reliability now. Keep up the great work.

      Thanks Paul, I think ditching it was for the best probably need to do the same in the fiddle yard now

    Felt your pain with the points, the end result was worth it mind 😊

      Thanks Richard, they where definitely worth changing, it would have been huge mistake if I kept them in. It’s such a shame curved points are so troublesome, as they are great space savers.

    Great video, thank you. Acouple of questions: what brand of paints did use on the crossing planks? Also do you motorise the crossing?

    • @WesternSignalman
      @WesternSignalman  Год назад

      The crossing is static and the planks where painted with lifecolor weathered wood paint set. Thanks for watching

    Great video as always, will you be filming and uploading the “face removal” and any other work on the two Thomas locos?

    • @WesternSignalman

      Thank you.
      I intend to do at least one of the locos on video, i will do one off camera first so I know what I’m doing and then go through my method with the other loco.

      @@WesternSignalman great looking forward to seeing those, I know people convert them fairly regularly but I rarely see those locos for sale and when I do they’re pricey

    the problem is the length of that plastic insulated frog .its too long for some shorter wheelbase locos. also the entry angle as the loco attacks the beginning of the point just slightly throws the loco wheels over to one side .

    • @WesternSignalman
      @WesternSignalman  2 года назад

      I had tried adapting the points to shorten the frog, it works in the fiddle yard but those ones where not quite right. What you describe was exactly what was happening, I found it weird that the Baldwin was the worst as it had a longer wheelbase than Skarloey.
