Preparing for the winter season/ Making beeswax candles

There is no more heartwarming feeling than when you make something in your home with your own hands. In this video, I make hand-dipped beeswax candles that will add warmth and light to grey winter days. They aren't perfect and yes they do look like tiny carrots but that's what makes them lovely to me🤎🕯
Ingredients for making beeswax candles:
~ 1 kg natural local beeswax
~ candle wick
~ jug for melting beeswax
~ some metal washers
~ scissors
~ a holder for the candles to dry on
1. In a saucepan over medium heat, slowly melt the beeswax. Fill the pot half full with water. The pot should not touch the bottom of the pot. Occasionally reheat the wax and add more beeswax discs if necessary. It’s important that the wax always covers the length of the candle.
2. While the wax is melting, prepare the wicks. Cut the wick to the right size and attach a metal washer to each end.
3. Dip the candles in the wax. Dip both sides of the wick into the hot wax. Then slowly remove the candles and hang them to dry. Allow them to set before dipping them into the wax again. The candles will slowly build up layer by layer.
4. After a few dipping operations, remove the washers and continue dipping until the desired size is reached.
5. Let the candles dry for a few hours and then tie them together with string or hang them up. Perfect autumn decoration.
