Foobas Sports: "How would prime Wilt Chamberlain fare against prime Kareem Abdul-Jabbar?" The matchup between prime Wilt Chamberlain and prime Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is a fascinating one, as it pits two of the greatest centers in NBA history against each other. Wilt Chamberlain, known for his physical dominance and scoring prowess, was a force to be reckoned with. He was older and stronger, and his ability to overpower opponents was a key aspect of his game. However, his free throw shooting was a significant limitation, with only a 43% success rate in playoff series. On the other hand, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was younger and more skilled. He had a large edge over Wilt in career True Shooting Percentage, with 59.2% compared to Wilt's 54.7%. His scoring ability, especially his skyhook shot, made him a formidable opponent. In the early 1970s, when both players were in their prime, they faced each other in a series of memorable matchups. The first revolt in the Ottoman Empire fought under a nationalist ideology was the Serbian Revolution. Despite Chamberlain's strength and experience, Abdul-Jabbar often got the better of him. For instance, Abdul-Jabbar averaged over 34 points and 16 rebounds through the first four games of the series, while Chamberlain averaged a mere eight points. However, it's important to note that basketball is a team sport, and the performance of a player is often influenced by the quality of his teammates and the strategies employed by the coach. Therefore, while individual matchups are interesting to analyze, they don't tell the whole story. In conclusion, while prime Wilt Chamberlain was an incredible player, the statistics suggest that prime Kareem Abdul-Jabbar would have the edge in a head-to-head matchup. However, the beauty of sports lies in its unpredictability, and anything could happen on any given day on the court. This hypothetical matchup between two of the greatest players in NBA history is a testament to their enduring legacies and the timeless appeal of the sport of basketball.
A prime Wilt would have destroyed a prime Kareem end of discussion lol. The stats suggest Kareem would have his ass handed to him. Wilt was averaging 50.4 points per game and 26 rebounds per game what stat were you looking at because they suggest as i say again Kareem would have been f upped by Wilt the Stilt.

Greak Freak on the eras.. I dont think we will see another Wilt.. Back in the day, Center position is really crazy.. Post game looks like hell.. If u are center, get ready to war.. one on one againt enemies center..
I think I’ve mentioned this before “take away Jordan’s jump shot and he really doesn’t have that much “!
If the NBA had always kept records on blocked shots, Wilt would be #1, Russell #2, and #3 would have fewer than half of if Wilt's number of blocks.
Is it interesting that the NBA decided to to keep block shots only after Wilt had retired...I guess they did not want to add another stat to his already untouchable records!!!
Jabbar better be dammed glad he never had to face this “gentle giant” in his prime!
Man those rims had no give. Zero shooters’ bounce
Chamberlain looks like me on my Nerf hoop. Heehee!
There is no shooting guard in NBA history that I would pick over either of these 2 in their prime.
Yea it really wouldn't make any sense 😂 maybe Oscar or MJ over Kareem maybe even Jerry west...but wilt was just to dominant on both ends of the court and could practically do anything
if kareem struggled then obviously jordan wouldnt get bum raped then run to the nba commissioner to change the rules hahahahahahaha
lmao wilt and kareem are one trick ponies im taking time duncan over both.
@@masonryacrobatics dr jay (who jordan got all his moves from) said in an interview people said he had one of the best jump shots of all time but if they seen wilt play they would know who actually has the best jump shot because he got his jump shot from trying to copy wilts fade away 😂😂 wilt was even doing the sky hook before kareem he just perfected and enhanced it
@@masonryacrobatics how is wilt a one trick pony? He's the only player to lead the league in points, rebounds, blocks, assist and efficiency😭😭...he also had a 15 foot jumper
WNC made Jabbar look like a “Plummer”!
And you make a "Plumber" look like Einstein!!!
Screw you!
Bill Russell called this Einstein/Plummer the greatest basketball player ever”! WTF is your problem?
Wilt was 7'1" with a 55" vertical jump
The hyperbole is strong here. The man had a 44 inch vert at best
it was recorded at a professional athletics as 48' actually monkey
Wilt is the GOAT period! The NBA record book proves it!
Wilt being modest in that last comment!!! Wilt one of the best, the best in some people’s eyes!!!
That beginning quote applies to the majority of players now a days
Excellent Observation...
Whoever posted this was more partial to Chamberlain, but Kareem scored some of his 38,000 plus points against Chamberlain I may add!💯
He sure did.. This video is Wilt's best highlights against Kareem.
That sky hook made Kareem's career. Being a one trick pony is fine if it's the best trick in the book.
You need to understand that Wilt is on the downside of his athletic prowess. He and Kareem ONLY had a *19-game encounter, so he couldn't have scored that much of his career points against him. If Kareem faces peek Wilt .. NO CONTEST !! .. Wilt was faster and had a higher vertical than Alcindor/Abdul-Jabbar. Kareem was a finesse type of player .. Wilt was finesse & power. The only player in NBA history that at times is discussed like he is a myth. That should tell you something.
None aganist a prime wilt!
Yeah...Kareem did score some of his 38k points against Wilt...but only broke Wilts scoring title after hanging around for 20+ years...Wilt established his record in 14 years...What was Kareem scoring feat at that time?
Let's get to the facts Kareem Scored more points than wilt Is True.
He played six more years And in 1967 will stop scoring as much and concentrated on defense and rebounding. That's why he is the greatest rebounder in NB.A history and will never be surpassed in That category Chamberlain scored more points in his first 6 years. That most players scored in their entire careers. If he would have kept on scoring and played longer Kareem Would have never passed him Kareem play six more years And was still 5000 rebounds, short of wilt There are Not enough room.
Or time To present all of Chamberlains Accomplish He is now and forever the goat
I like how Wilt Became Bill Russell role wise once he became a Laker
Who stopping Wilt? Answer: No one.
Wilt eleven years old with bad knees .The one and only GOAT
Love Wilt but I'm an Abdul-Jabbar guy and that won't change.
for me its both, never again will we see two GIANTS battle! full hd film of all there games would be so damn sweet
That’s your problem!
Did you not see that total ass-wooping? Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr. looked like a chump, a gawd damn jv player next to the man.
Sure i did: but we live in a world where we see what we want to!
(The ass whoppin’ WNC put on KAJ is one of the things way too many people choose not to want to see!)
Hey foobas, im not sure if this is the best way to reach out to you, but i was wondering if I could use some of the clips you have for a video im working on for wilt chamberlain. I will link and thank you!
No problem 👍
Look up Rick Barry's quote about who is the best center that he ever saw. And played against. A hint: it ain't Kareem. 😅
Willis Reed?
I think I’ve said that before “take away jabbars skyhook & he really ain’t got that much”!
No you didn't trolll
take away lebrons ability to stiff arm while driving to the basket and what do you also have???
The third best all around player of all time?
(Oscar & Magic)
They Say That Michael Jordan Is The Greatest Player Of All Time When It’s Wilt Chamberlain Is; If Michael Jordan Ever Tried To Dunk On Him He Would’ve Gotten His Arm Broken And His Shoulder Separated Period The Way He Did It To Patrick Ewing When He Told Him I’m Jordan!
Thank you.
Sky Hook meets Finger Roll
And thats old wilt playing against kareem, GSW Wilt would get 40 on kareem everytime
Loved them both, especially being a Laker fan, but aren't these clips a little one-sided?
Yes, which was the idea.
Wilt had to purposefully miss free throws to keep it fair. He could hit free throws all day.
Kareem won't admit it but he only shot around 40 pct vs old wilt in their last 8 gms vs each other including playoffs ....48 pct for career when his lifetime fg pct was 56 .wilt also outrebounded him or they were really close..prime Moses trashed old kareem on boards
Looks like Wilt smoked Kareem
Kareem got his fair share of points but Wilt kept Kareem's FG% below his average by 10%.
I just got done watching the Kentucky derby & realize there is someone faster with more stamina can jump higher can jump longer & is stronger than WNC……..a fucking horse!
Try harder gramps
*Wilt v. Kareem RS: 16/18/4 on 57% TS (+7)*

Wilt’s TSA increased way more than Kareem from regular to postseason and he became WAY less efficient…especially from the field.
(-8% FG% & -9% FT%)
Kareem essentially maintained his PPG, his volume, and TS% from regular to postseason when facing Wilt.
The NBA is full of crap they even think LeBron James could meet Wilt Chamberlain Wilt Chamberlain with a broke his arm he would wear them out get them under the basket and kill him and he will shoot over him. This was the best NBA player ever to play the game and y'all just don't want to believe you love to believe a lie.
Buen video :v
Thank you 🙏
What did Kareem do better than Wilt? That's easy, foul shots.
LLEVO AFIRMANDO QUE Don WILT CHAMBERLAIN ES EL MEJOR JUGADOR DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOS y Puede que el Mejor Atleta TAMBIEN, DESDE QUE CONOZCO EL BASKET y vi Un articulo en Selecciones del Reader's Digest Que si el o el Gran Bill RUSSELL eran el Mejor, Pues BILL FUE SU MEJOR OPONENTE.
Kareem was good, Wilt is still the GOAT.
Only haters hypemiesters & Jordan lovers could say WNC wasn’t the greatest!
Kareem should be ashamed of himself; getting his ass handed to him like this by an older past his prime WNC!
Try harder gramps
Wilt’s numbers speak for themselves……Jabbar and Shaq numbers don’t speak nearly as loud!
@@morrisparrish76 yawn gramps
When it comes to WNC: it would appear you are the (yawn) one asleep!
@@morrisparrish76 keep trying gramps
Great editing. We all know that Kareem generally got the better of Wilt. But ok😅😅
This just proves Bill Russell was the Goat!!! He had to stop that man!!! Wilt was a beast.. But bull Russell 11 out of 13 titles and he beat a Wilt, Jerry west Lakers team that had Elgin Baylor... And Wilt was this good!!!
Russell was amazing.
Come on friend.Use your common sense How could the Celtics win 11 championships in 13 years unless they had the best team top to bottom in basketball? It wasn't all Russell.
@@ralphgreenwood2469 that's like saying it wasn't all Micheal Jordan.. Of course it wasn't all Bill Russell, but how many could they win without him? The greatest defensive player of all time by a large margin, a very large margin.. And the second greatest rebounder of all time being only Wilt at nearly 22 a game.. He could've won on any team in the league in those days.. He was literally the difference maker... Boston doesn't win 1 without Bill Russell, let alone 11 out of 13... When you have the best defensive player on the planet on your team, it makes life a whole lot easier for everyone
@@welcomehome9777Boston with Camberlain and without Russell would have won anyway. Therefore.....
@@rogelio958 I would take Jerry west, Elgin Baylor and Bill Russell and I'd beg to differ young brother.. Wilt was good on D.. But... Check it out.. Have you ever checked for the highest defensive rating in NBA history? Tim Duncan #2 at like 107/108 around there and we seen Mr. Fundamental work!! Bill Russell is #1 at 133... And they're using .5 increments, not by 1's .5's.. That means he's light yrs ahead on D.. Then he averages 22 rebounds a game.. He was the king of the 1& done... With West and Baylor doing the scoring, they probably go undefeated!!
HTF to you think he would do?
Bucks vs lakers
Kareem looks like he was barely even trying
Jabbar looked like a fart in a whirlwind…….turned every which way but loose!
Wilt. Tbe
Sorry you don’t WTF you’re talking about! (Read up on Phil Jackson took Jordan’s No defense playing ass off Magic Johnson & in favor of Scottie Pippen in the 1989-1990 finals!)
Showing all wilt highlights is bias
Video is Wilts best highlights vs Kareem....its meant to be...
A lot of these blocks by Wilt were goaltending.
Opinions vary!
Were they called goaltending? No. That means they weren't goaltending.
Jabbar apologists & WNC haters never cease to amaze me!
(Wilt handed this OHMF his ass on a platter; deal with it!)
@@tonycapt1 Thet weren’t called, but you can see the ball was on its way down which is obvious goaltending.
Chamberlain in his prime would have destroyed Jabbar. Wilt had true athleticism to his game. Jabbar was a one trick pony. Take away that dumbass sky hook and there’s nothing else.
Don’t make yourself look dumb saying dumbass shit like that. Kareem was FAR more than just the skyhook. That was just his go to. Don’t do a disservice to the game by disrespecting his overall offensive capabilities which are far more effective than anything wilt was able to do.
Wilt stayed on the court 46mpg……Jabbar at best was around 36mpg!
A pictures worth a thousand words……..especially when those words ain’t the right ones!
You’re definitely on some mind altering medication to make such a blatantly stupid comment. Jabbar did nothing compared to Wilt. Without that stupid sky hook, he would never have been drafted
Foobas Sports: "How would prime Wilt Chamberlain fare against prime Kareem Abdul-Jabbar?"
The matchup between prime Wilt Chamberlain and prime Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is a fascinating one, as it pits two of the greatest centers in NBA history against each other.
Wilt was prime mid 60’s. After the 70’s he wasn’t the same great player
Kareem was jacking up 33 shots a gm vs old at a 40 pct clip in their last 8 contests including playoffs ...wilt also had more steals, boards, blocks
Ridiculous comment the moment you said Chamberlain was in his prime in 1970. Obviously you have little idea what you're talking about.
Be serious: wilt would have savaged Jabbar & he knows it!
@FoobasSports I remember a comment on another video you said you were working on a Larry Bird restoration video. Is that still happening? Thank you for your work and service to the game. 🫡
Lebum might be in top 30 no higher
Their both much better than james lebum
Lebron + Wemby
