The rs660 is a joke.. not only aprilia wish they had kawasaki reliability but the power output These last 600’s put are just a joke, take per example in the early 2000’ gsx, r6 and such were really powerful track bike.. zx6r still brings same power on the table meanwhile r7 and such are just fun bike for beginners that don’t have much in common with the old style 600’ , even older 250’ bike as cagiva mito were making 220 km/hr 20 yrs ago as opposed to these new 600’ nowadays..
I just bought the 2024 RS660 Extrema and it’s amazing. I’ve owned a 2016 and 2019 Tuono Factory and to be honest the 660 is plenty fast enough for the street. The RS660 has a ton of character, good looks, light weight, surprisingly quick and all the tech you could ever want. Will be interesting to see how reliable it is.
@@PetroHead the SC project sounds amazing, somewhere between a Ducati twin and Aprilia V4, best of both worlds IMO. I’m 60 and don’t find the riding position uncomfortable at all, did a 180 mile ride this morning and felt fine afterwards. Have the 600 mile service scheduled for next weekend so looking forward to opening it up after that. Other than the exhaust, a few carbon bits and lithium battery help make the Extrema slightly lighter than the standard RS660.
The RS 660 is a very good bike. However, so is the ZX6R. Both are good looking bikes with powerful engines and crazy speeds. If I have to choose between the two I'd probably go with the Aprilia RS660. However since there's no Aprilia dealerships in the area I live in. I'll have to go with the ZX6R.
Japanese will always be cheaper. Number one.. they never break and number two.. EU bike dealers are vultures who will take your money like a Las Vegas stripper.
@ok thank you! Really love looking the RS660 specifically the sound. Hehe but yup a lot of them tells me the same thing. So i guess gonna go to the zx6r
@@PetroHead Powerwise the ZX4RR is closer to the RS660 than the RS660 is to the ZX6R. Also power is not everything, the ZX4RR and the RS660 are both "casual sports bike", bikes than are good on the track but that are also usable daily on the street (the main focus of those). The ZX6R is more a track bike that you can use on the street, but compared to the other 2, I would no daily one.
@22Epic Hmm.. The RS660 and R7 are in the twins cup races and Aprilia is currently dominating. ZX6R is no longer racing anywhere. PS: R6 is a race bike for the street. ZX6R is a street bike for track enthusiasts. It's always been this way. Check out my comparison video I did of the two sometime back. Regardless, I appreciate different opinions 👍

Awesome! How do you like the exhaust? Any major difference aside the exhaust compared to the regular version?

@@pistolpete6321 Awesome! Enjoy it in good health.
I own an exrema, it's really slow
@@Captainhairyass you clearly don’t own one otherwise you wouldn’t say that

looks like you’re covering the front brake. i love it
My choice wil be about the engine: 2 or 4 cylinders. But first I have to ride them both. Great video. Very helpful and to the point. 👍🏻
I wish the RS 660 had the ZX6R engine... then weeeeeee...
Nice! If someones would buy between rs660 and zx6r which bike would cost less for the maintenance?

I just bought one… you’re the first to find out lol.. reveal video coming this weekend. Cheers
@@PetroHead whoaat! 😱😱 nice! Il wait for the video
what do you mean there aren’t any bs fees with euro dealers? seriously, no fees? or are they just upfront about it?
miss the r6
15:00 Petrohead’s R6…😩
That’s a triumph 660 not an rs 660
u dumb? hes not talking about the bike riding in the video
The ZX4RR is more likely a better comparison to the RS 660.
ZX4RR is a good comparison to the R7... similar power.. no?

people seem to forget how light the rs660 is.
