Note to all beginners and everyone else. The scale control is under the Data tab at bottom of tree, next to View. A careful note to stop video and check all settings on the screen i.e. work bench, on/off tree features, active body, View or Data, etc, at each selection thruout all vids on this channel. Darren does a great job at demonstrating what may be done in Freecad and explaining each setting would be deterimental to the flow of any video. I wish Darren would include this instruction at the intro to all of his videos. Imho, that would be the best instruction to his vast library of Freecad videos. Great work, Darren ! Keep 'em coming !
Thank you for adding that to help others. And thank you for the suggestion / feedback. I will take those on board through the new series that I am doing.
Once again I've learnt something new. It amazing how you can speed up the design process if you know how these things work and your videos are always so informative and clear and concise on the processes. I'd like to thank you once again for sharing your knowledge !!! I think you should call yourself Freecad Guru !! :-)
Thanks for the comments, always like to share the knowledge. Freecad gives you so many tools and there is always some little goody lurking somewhere. I spend a lot of time experimenting as I have some pretty leftield ideas for projects that I want to do so end up pushing freecad to see how I can tackle them. Anything I find that might be of interest I will always throw into a video in case someone can use it. Lol, I have yet to get to guru status but thanks anyway, and thank you for the support 😁👍
I want to thank you for all of your work. It has helped me better understand FreeCAD and it has made me a better modeler. Cheers, for making this community stronger!
Nice video. Note that mirror will fail and throw an error "Only additive and subtractive features can be transformed" if you attempt to apply another mirror transform. Unfortunately, using multi transform has the same problem if a feature of the multi transform is a transform.
When using the Realthunder LinkStage 3 branch, I had to uncheck "transform sub feature" when doing the mirror. With this off, I only had to select the tip feature, not all features. It made mirror more robust.
I literally dont get the same menu in 0.21.2 and part wont mirror even though part is 100% suitable for mirroring. Troubleshooting with this program makes me want to scream
