I watched a lot of videos about FreeCAD but this was exactly the basics I was lacking! Thanks a lot!

Once one is familiar the basic drawing tools it is important to understand the tree structure to build more complex models - So thank you for this helpful video.

Thank you for the very informative video. You explained clearly some of the challenges I was having learning FreeCAD.

I printed my first part designed in FreeCAD 0.20 a few days ago. Bodies, pads, base features and sketches everywhere. I somehow Frankensteined it into working but will redo it so as to make changing parameters easier. Thank you so much for this.

Very helpful. Thank you. It would have saved me a lot of frustration if I had seen earlier.

Freecad seems to be strict on the order, and the conditions that many operations require.
Videos like this help clarify the logic these expectations are based on.

I have looked for a video like this relative to the model tree. I have also looked on FreeCAD WIKI it was informative. In my early FC days, the order of operation was confusing to me. The words you mention “operations ending in a cumulative solid” is crucial to understanding the model tree.

Yes... This concept is somewhat unique to Freecad.. Thanks for your comment.

Same here! When he said “operations ending in a cumulative solid”, my mind does not bug anymore 😁

Really liked the approach. Too many tutorials show successful steps. This one demonstrates steps that cause errors. Many of which I encountered, but didn't know what I was doing wrong.

That really clears it all up for me. I had no idea how to organize a drawing before this video. Thank you.

This explanation helped me understand the tree better. I had drawn a reasonably complex item in Part Design workbench and then couldn't export it to an .stl because it was messed up. It looked correct, but it wasn't. Thank you for this explanation.

Fantastic size and color Pointer. Very cool. As a video producer I have some tips for you.
Pity the icon bar icons are so small you can hardly see it! Make it size 24 OR even bigger.
Your screen white/blue color cause that your work is very hard to make it out.Try one color screen. Paper white with all constrains and dimensions in black rectify this problem in videos totally. Sizes if bigger help a lot in all videos.
Hope this is useful to you

How do you get that XYZ view on your screen. The XYZ in FreeCad is way too small for me to see.
