5 years later, still using this video. That's how good it is!
Thank you for coming back every year to watch my video. I'm glad it is helpful!
This is the best video I’ve found for the Troy built bronco, thanks a ton bro!
exacty to the point, thankyou tons!!
Thank you bro. No BS. Straight to the point. Informative, detailed, and well shot. Big help~~!!
agreed
Thank you for a wonderful video! Our little Troy Bilt is not going to be a mower anymore, so I needed to learn how to take the mower deck off so I can use it on my farm to pull around my yard stuff! This video was wonderful for me as I know nothing about mowers! Thank you!
I’m glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching and the kind comment. If the tractor can’t cut anymore at least it can still tow for you!!
That is a stellar video! Showing closeup and how to remove and reattach everything is excellent! It is so detailed! Thanks again! I'm hoping you show drive belt replacement as well!
This is one of the best DIY mower videos I've ever seen. Really well done, great photography and dialog.
I'm also impressed you do this with one hand. I'm in awe.
I’m glad it was helpful and thank you for the kind comment. Please give this a like, subscribe and tell your friends to help my channel grow. It would be greatly appreciated:) Thank you for watching!
Definitely have this video book marked at the top of my Troy-Bilt Bronco page. Best video I've seen about removing the deck..
Edit: See tips below!
i really appreciate the pace you do this video. so often people drag it out, but your pace is excellent. good camera work too. i only hope that with two hands I can do half as well as you did with one! good on ya mate!
UPDATE: Tip for removing the clips... I just took my deck off and found that using pliers to remove the clips is not great. Instead, use a (fairly large) flat-blade screw driver, stick it in the clip between the two ends and twist, it will pop right off with almost no effort. Note: one end is obvious and the other is not as obvious. The obvious end is flared out -- twist the driver against that flared out part.
Second tip: to remove the cable's spring, push the pulley back to where there's some recesses in the deck which give you room to get the spring end out.
Can I just tell you how much I appreciate you sharing this, it saved me so much time and I found out that the previous person who did service on this lawnmower did a few things wrong just by watching you taking it apart thank you again man!!
I’m glad it was helpful! Thank you for sharing and the kind comment!
Excellent video, just what I wanted to see. Had some wonderful memories while watching. My Grandfather was missing his left hand and that man could do more with one hand than most can do with two. Helped him build a picnic gazebo one summer with nothing more than a hand saw and a hammer. Learned more about work ethic and being my own man than anything else I have ever done. Thank you so much.
Thank you for the kind words!! and that the video was helpful:). Thank you for watching!
Thank you so much for such a clear and complete tutorial. I was having trouble putting the PTO back in position because I was doing it wrong. This showed me how to do it. Thanks.
Hey Bruce, I’m glad it was helpful and thank you for the kind comment.
This video was the exact same model as mine..the step by step instructions were awesome. Troy-bilt outta pay you for this video. Just did my first time deck removal / blade changeout.👍🏿
Thanks for your video! I was having trouble reattaching my deck to my tractor. Your video showed me everything I needed to know. I very much appreciate it.
I’m glad it was helpful. Thank you for the kind comment. Please give this video a thumbs up, subscribe and tell your friends to help my channel grow. It would be greatly appreciated.
I was hesitant to tackle the deck removal by myself. But this video gave me the confidence I needed. Very clear directions and excellent video quality. I did it this afternoon. No problems. Thanks so much.
I'm glad all went good! and thank you for the kind comment. Please give this video a like, subscribe if you haven't already and share my channel to help it grow! It would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for watching.
Thank you so much for this how-to video. Especially the part about removing/installing the spring!
Awesome Video. I always struggle with getting my deck off. You made it very clear and easy. Super clear and to the point. Great job!
Excellent video, i took my deck off 7 or 8 years ago and never used it, needed it for a job yesterday looked for a removal video so i could reattach it. this video was excellent, clear explanations with perfect visuals. I dont like to criticize people trying to help others, however i do want to compliment you, i came across 2 other videos first and i could not see anything they were doing. That is how i came across yours. Thanks again and great instructional for someone that wouldnt have a clue. What i needed was to see which holes to use on rear mounts and where the cable went, also realized i had lost the pin to secure the cable. Thanks
I'm glad you were able to figure it out with a little help! Thank you for watching and the kind comment.
Thanks Bro, very good video, I need to take the deck off my elderly neighbors Troy and this takes all the guess work out of it! I commend you on working on mowers with only one hand! They are a booger to work on with 2 or more! Thanks for sharing your knowledge! God Bless!
Excellent video....the clearest, most easily understood, direct video on how to do this. Now I'm ready to tackle this job solo. Thanks!!!
Great video. Concise, to the point and described in great detail. To bad Troy Bilt couldn't provide this to their customers. Thank you for a job well done.
Excellent "How to Video"! Great close-ups, video/sound quality, steps, explanations as to "why this way and not another way", pointing out pitfalls, no fluff, short to the point, the real deal. Exactly what I needed to get this job done. Thank you for creating content like this! I have a 2008 Bronco and hope these steps will apply. I subscribed to come back for more Troy Bilt Bronco related maintenance content, I assume over time I need to reference how to change different belts and other maintenance that seems basic at first until one gets 'down and dirty'.
I’m glad it was helpful! Thank you for the kind comment and supporting my channel. I have been looking for a older bronco to perform the transmission belt replacements but at the moment, I do not. When I do get one in that needs the belts, I will make sure to make a video.
Thanks for making this video, I am 72 yrs old and this is the first time I am going to try to take the deck off my Bronco, your instructions look great!
I'm glad it was helpful and thank you for the kind comment.
Thank you for this video. After watching the manufacturer's video, I was about to give up. Thank goodness for your video. You broke it down to understandable steps and inspired me to do this job myself.
Excellent video! Great explanations, clear & concise and no drama!! Thank you.
Im glad it was helpful and thank you for the kind comment!
Dude if I could give you 100 thumbs up I would, this video is awesome, straight to the point, and easy to follow. Unfortunately I just borked something on my mower and need to take the deck off, was freakinng out about it, but now, no problem. Keep up the great work.
This video is a life saver. First time I ever had to maintain a lawn mower and this guided me through perfectly. Only issue were the hex nuts to remove the blades. Had to get an impact wrench because of how tight they were screwed on.😂
Hi John, I’m glad it was helpful and thank you for the kind comment. I only use impact guns. Now with the electric impacts, it’s even better. Most blade bolts are tough.
Hey thanks for taking time to do this. Very efficient video, extremely well done. Much appreciated!
You are a GODSEND I was going to get a jack to lift the mower now I feel confident on removing the deck instead . Thank you do much
I'm glad it was helpful. Just take your time and you'll be fine! Thank you for watching and the kind comment. Please give this video a like, subscribe if you haven't already and share my channel to help it grow. It would be greatly appreciated.
Great video my friend. Straight to the point no BS. I was thinking of installing a plow to my Troy Built Bronco but was a bit intimidated about removing the deck. This is piece of cake. Thanks again!
Glad it was helpful:)
Best repair video I have ever seen! I have trouble with 2 hands how he does it is amazing to watch!
Glad I found this video I was having trouble with that deck engagement cable. Thank you for this video very easy to folly and thorough! A blessing 🙌
I’m glad it was helpful and thank you for the kind comment!
Hey, just wanted to reach out to say, I was born with a missing hand also. Our arm looks identical. I googled how to take the deck off my lawnmower, your video is the one that came up! It’s great seeing someone else like me! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for sharing too! I know you and I are not alone in our situation. I’m just glad we both had to deal with it from day one and not have it happen on the job. That would’ve been much worse. I’m sure you do just as well as I! Take care, and thank you for commenting/sharing and watching my video.
Thank you Brad! I got it all on my own until I got to the cable! THEN I looked up THIS video! Keep making videos on anything you work in! Never know what I’ll need help with next! Thanks again Brad! Oh my next project is changing the oil! Got a video on that? Thanks in advance ! 😎
THEE best how to video I've ever viewed....period. You are an excellent mechanics and a video producer!! You take the part out and then go back and reattach it and do another shot of the disassembly process....who does that!!?? I wish more people would take the time and doe this as well instead of telling us how their dog had puppies or they kid got an A in DEI !!!!! Nobody really cares or wants to see that BS!!!
I’m glad it was helpful and thank you for the very kind comment. Please give this video a like and share my channel with your friends to help it grow. It would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for watching:)
This is by far the most helpful video I've watched on how to do this. Thank you so much.
I’m glad it was helpful and thank you for the kind comment. Please give this video a like, subscribe if you haven’t yet and share my channel with your friends to help it grow. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for watching:)
I like the way you explained in detail how every thing comes off, great video.
Thanks Jeff, I’m glad it was helpful. Please click the thumbs up, subscribe and tell your friends to help my channel grow. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for watching:)
I hit the subscribe button right after watching your video. I have a 2017 Bronco that I'm going to have to drop the deck to change out the drive belt. That's where your video about how to remove the deck helped me a lot. I will be checking out some of your other videos in the near future.
Great explanation and video showing the proper way to place each pin. Best video I have seen. "Your the Man" Thanks.
I’m glad it was helpful. Thank you for watching and the kind comment. Please give this video a thumbs up, subscribe and tell your friends to help my channel grow. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! Great job going through this and being detailed but straight to the point!
You made my day! You explained what to do so clearly which made this so easy for me to do! Thank you so much!
I’m glad it was helpful! Please give this video a thumbs up and tell your friends to help my channel grow. It would be greatly appreciated.
Very well put together video. The best one I have seen for a Troy Bilt Bronco Riding mower.
Great job on video. I hate looking for these type of videos, because the video is always a life story before they get to the point. This was to the point and nicely detailed. Thanks 👍
I 100% percent agree with any how to video. I wouldn’t make them any other way, right! To the point and get it done. I’m glad it was helpful and thank you for the kind comment. Please give this video alike, subscribe, if you haven’t already and share my channel with your friends to help it grow. It would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for watching:)
This is a great video for the Troy-Bilt Horse, also.
I'm just going to say, you get things done better than I do with two hands. Kudos for a job well done. Real time video with no time speed lapse. I didn't catch your first name, but you're golden 'guy'.
Just what I needed. You are very clear and easy to follow. Thank you
You are a god send!! Just purchased this exact model and I’m almost convinced the previous owner welded the blade nuts on. After unsuccessfully attempting to remove the nuts via without removing the deck, I found your video. Success!!
Hi Chris, I'm glad you found this video and you were able to get the job done. Blade bolts are sometimes very tough. I always take the mower deck off just to make everything easier to do. Thank you for commenting. Please give this video a thumbs up, subscribe and tell your friends to help my channel grow. It would be greatly appreciated. Take care.
Hey buddy I really appreciate the video, it was very helpful. I took this deck off years ago & never got around to putting it back on (you should see my yard Jk) Now that it's fixed, I had forgotten how to reinstall deck. Your tips & tricks made it easy peasy. I subscribed to your channel, I'm sure you have other helpful videos. Thanks again
Great video! I followed this and was able to change my belt yesterday.
Much appreciated! Keep up the good work! 👍👏
I’m glad it was helpful :) thank you for the kind words!! Will do
Thanks Brother, your video was a great help...got me on track again!!!
Thanks for putting this video together, good views of everything well done. I just bought one of these and deck shakes & vibrates violently so probably have to take deck off see whats up. also transmission sticks (catching on something) when placing into forward gear. no quality control these days.
I taught several hearing impaired people how to do wheel alignments so they could get paid more than Tire Techs. Obviously they really can't do brake work without help because they can't hear brake sequels and noises etc. I can't imagine teaching a 1 armed man how to do mechanical repairs but I applaud your effort and your tenacity! NEVER let anyone tell you what you can't do right? The reality is people will do exactly that. Even if you had both hands people will still stand in your way.
Fantastic video. My blade CABLE ENGAGE broke and shot the ROD DECK BREAK over the drive belt next to the pulley. WOW those things have some serious tension on them. Your video helped so much, Thank You.
This is a hundred times better than the official video. Thanks!
Nice! Thank you for watching and commenting. Please give this video a like and share my channel to help it grow. It would be greatly appreciated!
My son should watch this, because he complains about his type one diabetes, and you my friend are handicapped with one hand. You are a truly an inspiration, Thank you so much for your time in making this video, because I would have been frustrated, the only thing I need is a fan, humidity is 65% at 93 degrees. yep I am in the south, Louisiana,Thank you once again and God Bless.
Hi Ben, thank you for the kind words. I was born with only my one hand. I stay positive and never let a mechanical situation beat me!!
Wow, I too Was born with one right hand 65 years ago, but I am primarily Left legged and footed. My Left hand has a wrist function and a smaller palm. I call it a dog's paw, tough enough to start nails with, to be able to use a hammer to finish the task. A handicapped person is one that looses a limb after being born with it, and then remembers what is was like to have it.
Being born without it I don't miss it, and was not sheltered as a kid, over came and adapted.
Now I too Have type 2 Diabetes, live in the south, with all the food choices that are bad for me, and the heat, and the Meds. Yet I still press on.
God Bless.
@@sperkins2767 I know how you feel we are like twins and I have also used my left palm to start nails. I also have a wrist that moves like my good hand. I am 52 no diabetes yet but i do not like the doctors so I stay away.
@@JohnsonsSmallEngines you guys are awesome. My nephew is Nick Newell.
Best video on here showing how to do this and you make it look so easy

Best video I have ever seen! Very impressed with his technique!
Brad, I just dropped $20 on your GoFundMe page on your website. I had belts, spindles etc. to replace and I was not looking forward to it. My Grandpa used to say, the worst part of work is dreading it. lol
----
You explained it so well I took it apart a week after watching this video and still managed it in a short time. Cuts like a dream now. Many thanks!
Thank you for donating Joe! I’m glad the video was helpful and your back up and cutting! Thank you for watching
Much appreciated Brother and God bless you for your helping us all

Thanks for this. I just bought a super bronco and I should've measured my fence first, lol. I'm going to need to take the deck off to get it in the yard.

Had to put my deck back on and this helped when I needed to know where the bracket I had went. It was the belt guard. Thanks
I’m glad it was helpful :)
Thank you for this great and informative video, which helped me take care of the lawn mower.

Excellent video great tips, just what I needed to know
Great video sir. Well shot and very descriptive.
Brad, that was top shelf brother. Im talkin Air Force one, Platinum record, Higher F_ing power.......legend sir. You have pulled me out of the trenches Brad. Thank you sir. 😁😁😁
Excellent video. Those darned “safety”clips were-are a challenge until I watched your video. Much easier way than the way I struggled with them. I find it easier to put a short piece of 2 x 4 under each side of the deck when reinstalling the deck. The added height off the ground makes it much easier to locate and attach the rear lift bars and front bar also. I also found the you can slide the deck out from under the chassis a short distance and it’s make the deck engagement cable and retainer much easier to remove and install.
Thank you! My newer deck removal videos now show what you came across with pulling the deck out. I am still learning every day to help put out a good video and I thank you all who help in the process :). Thank you for watching and commenting.
Super dope, needed this to fix my 60 yo mother's mower. Saved us a bunch of time and time equals money!!!!! Thanks Much
I’m glad it was helpful. Please give this video a thumbs up, subscribe and tell your friends to help my channel grow. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for watching and the kind comment.
Great video. Easy to follow. I’m assuming the latest pony 42” deck is identical to the bronco.
All the pony videos are on the old model deck with no scallop wheels. Newest pony has them and a bigger motor.
Awesome video. My old Troy-Bilt is mowing all sorts of lopsided and figure it's time to drop the deck, check all the pulleys, sharpen or replace the blade etc etc. As far as I know, it's never been done, and this thing is nearing 20 years old lol
I’m glad it was helpful and thank you for the kind comment! Please give this video a like and share my channel with your friends to help it grow. It would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for watching :)
This should help me when I tackle mine in a few weeks. Thanks for the nice video. From Alabama

Well done by both you and your cameraman.
Excellent! This is way easier than it was on my older mower.

You are a good teacher. Thank you
Excellent video. Very detailed instructions.
