As always, a pleasure to watch you playing DDD. Your guardian angel must have held his hand over you during the landing 😇.
(And you actually remembered to lock 3 dice).
Really cool playthrough with appropriate use of variants. Battle Condition looks really exciting. You manage your resources really well 👍.
I love the use of "Fog of War" - it just shows that you are a human and not a robot.
And yes, Map no. 18, is taken from an exercise.
Exercise Fabius was the last major exercise prior to D-Day, and was conducted in early May 1944.
The purpose was for the Allied troops to practice landing. Therefore, conditions were included that were similar to those the troops would encounter on the beaches of Normandy. The exercise had to be as close to the real plans as possible.
In fact, the exercise consisted of 6 separate exercises:
Fabius 1 takes place on the beach at Slapton Sands and here the 1st and 29th US Infantry Divisions participated. Rehearsal of the landing on Omaha Beach.
Fabius 2 takes place on the beaches of Hayling Island and here the 50th British Infantry Division participated. Rehearsal of the landing on Sword Beach.
Fabius 3 takes place on the beaches of Bracklesham Bay and here the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division participated. Rehearsal of the landing on Juno Beach.
Fabius 4 takes place on the beach at Littlehampton and here the 3rd British Infantry Division participated. Rehearsal of the landing on Gold Beach.
Fabius 5 and 6 are carried out to train the Anglo-American supply units training for support missions.
As mentioned, the exercises were intended to test the plans for Operation Neptune and Operation Overlord. Marches to ports and the embarkations of troops to ships were part of the exercise, and the meticulous timetables for the fleet's passage across the Channel were also tested.
The exercises were a success as such: everything came together logistically and the Germans were unaware of it. Lessons learned during the exercise were subsequently incorporated into the actual plans for Operation Neptune and Operation Overlord.
... So now we are ready for the actual D-Day. Map no. 19: Omaha, DOG Red Sector.

It brings me great joy to know someone appreciates me making these episodes :D I hope to keep them going until I at least finish all the maps! I also got to make an Inside The Bunker episode or David will kill me xD
To be honest, as a person, I have a "100% or nothing" mentality. This made board gaming hard for me when I was new to it, because if I found that I made a misstake, I would restart the game. After recording for a few years now (first video published 2019!), I came to accept that playing a whole game without at least a minor misstake is extremely hard. In the end it's not what matters, but that you have a "fun" or interesting time, doing what you're doing. I think of it as "fog of war", kind of an abstraction of real "fog of war" in combat, which I have now experienced first hand in war. I still feel some preassure when recording though, but not so much with D-Day Dice. Covering another game from WFG, "Rogue Regiment", I made 1 misstake in 1 playthrough video and some people were berating me pretty hard for it. To those people I say, setup a camera and record yourself when playing, and see if you play perfect yourself.
It seems that your description of the historical scenario that it went better than Excersice Tiger. Reading about all those unecessary causalities is devastating. Boys who came all the way from the US just to die on a brittish beach during training, what a waste.
      Dog Red coming soon!

This game is definitely a master piece for whom loves dice mitigation thematic oriented game, and watching you play is joyful as you really now are a highly skilled player (which almost manage to not forget the scout, which is an achievement by itself imho). I can only think of another game like this one, and it's The Elder Sign, which is definitely NOT a WW2 thematic game 😂but it has the same vibes regarding dice mitigation with the help of cards and game effects. Keep up the great work. I want my "Inside the Bunker" conclusion 😛

I think I am going to get a wrench tatooed on my right hand, that is the only way that I will remember the Scout :P I do not know why it's soooo hard to remember it!! I guess my brain is degrading xD The Elder Sign looks great! HP Lovecraft theme is kinda scary though.. :P
The bunker is comming! I am already thinking about strategies to win it. It's very hard, but if you can manage to recruit enough specialists, it gets a lot easier! (Your starting weapon in the bunker depends on your amount of recruited specialists). If I remember correctly, courage also effects starting health!! So another thing to keep track of or you are done from the start!

Well done! These videos are fun to watch, and I've learned a lot from watching you play. I don't plan to use this many modules in my own games, preferring to splash a few here and there. You never have to play this game the same way each time, which keeps the game from getting stale.

@@davidlhsl Yeah this is a fantastic game and the modules give you the possibility to really adjust and mix to have it exactly as you want. After playing every map I'll decide my golden standard and will put those modules in the main box

A question do you have to own the base game to play the expansions?

@@williamcampbell5971 Yes, you need the base game for every expansion. Preferably the second edition base game
