  • African Americans in New Orleans were the ones hardest hit by hurricane Katrina. The increase in health care costs is most borne by those people that have the least to spend. Some groups are more vulnerable than others. According to American philosopher Robert Bernasconi, we must not deny the link between vulnerability and cultural background. His inspiration for this analysis is to be found in the philosopher Emmanuel Levinas. Come and learn why we should take responsibility for our fellow human beings more seriously.
