Great stuff coach. Teaching is not an easy trade but this is top notch instruction. My constructive criticism would be to slow it down and always strive for language and visual demonstrations to be simplified to an absolute minimum. Let your wisdom sink in before moving to the next topic.
*Great Video!* With 7 first round picks and over 60 ball players drafted or signed I agree with *A LOT* of what you teach. I have always trained my hitters for op-field power and as you state, proper backspin rotation is crucial. You seem to state that ideal backspin and carry is analogous to throwing 4 seams (12-6 rotation and I couldn't agree more). You also talk about working op-field to achieve proper routes and impact zone, outstanding! *Few things get the attention of scouts more than op-field power* so can you explain how you are going to achieve a strong, op-field backspin rotation that truly carries (not tailing and dying) with the barrel angle (8:23) and shoulder angle (9:04) you display in this video? Thanks, JD
Thanks Coach! You're great with instructions and we appreciate your videos. My son is going into his freshman year and we always enjoy your videos together. You've helped him in many ways through the years. 💥 2020💥 Again, Thanks So Much!!
in bp i notice i hit a lot of knuckle balls, but once i get to the game its easier to get backspin. maybe its just harder to be perfect in the middle of the ball in a game?
Really .....so all of a sudden baseball is talking about a cut split swing to create backspin. Fastpitch softball hitters have been doing this for years, and Ive taught and believed in this for years. But Baseball hitters and many instructors loved that get to level and lift swing. Glad you have embraced the swing technique. Ive also taught baseball players this, and old dumb traditional coaches would fight my kids with it. Stupid. ...old....set in their ways coaches.
Practicing for backspin is a waist of time. How often do you get a ball right in the middle that you can swing with a level swing? Easier on a T-ball. You can't put backspin on a ball at the knees cause your bat angle is inside the ball and if you hit below the equator you'll hit a slice but not a 4 seem spin.
The focus should be on swing mechanics. Top hand palm up at contact, baril lower then the hands on under the belly button pitch, knob pointing to the catcher, power L, extension through the ball

Flat earthers be like😐
Love your stuff, but i still don’t understand the emphasis on backspin. Science says backspin cause lift not distance.
