WOWWW this is amazing. Absolutely incredible what pothos look like when given proper tropical growing conditions!! I would have thought it would be impossible for such a large node to continue to thrive when its environment changes!
The thing is that pothos can actually get to this size whilst being grown purely in an indoor environment, but it takes either pristine conditions and plant magic, or *forever* . Once you get it to that point though (like when you already have a large pothos) it's pretty easy to keep it at that stage for as long as it's on a pole, because it still thinks it's on that tree even though it's darker.
My jaw literally dropped when you showed the side by side of the regular cutting!! Even with you showing the measurements prior, seeing the comparison was insane!
That’s so cool! I live in the Caribbean and we have these all over. They’re so cool! I didn’t ever think about getting a giant node! That would be so fun to experiment with!
I just brought a moss pole a few days ago because I noticed when I picked up the pothos vines the leaves grew larger. Seeing this video confirms what I thought. I love Pothos ❤️
Why can't you live in Ireland, be my neighbour and friend. We grow plants together. They are therapy to me and help me. I'm glad I found your channel 🪴🌱🌿
My most common recurring dream is finding a monstera deliciosa growing up a tree in its full glory. Not gonna happen in East Texas, but I’m always super thrilled in my dream
These guys have become an invasive species in Florida! There are some crazy pictures of pothos swollowing the landscape over time. The cutting is so cool, I would try to get my hands on one too
Haha yeah we do enjoy it as much as you do. My unkle works in a zoo, they have A green wall, and there also is a big ass pothos growing on it, he even had to cut it down because it was getting too big. I asked him if he can bring me the cuttings, and now I also have a pothos with thick stems and big leaves, and you were the one who inspired me 😃 btw, what epipremnum species is it exactly?
no but ive been working on them for a while there have been many many iterations. I plan on releasing them in the next month. Ive said that many times but my wife and son are visiting parents in korea so im working really hard to get them done and ready for the public
Hi I had an experiment idea that would be very interesting! Sorry that this is unprompted but thought it was on brand with some of the other cool experiments you did. The basis of this experiment is the idea that gravel or something similar on the bottom of a pot actually doesn't help dry the pot and avoid water logging. Researching this topic it seems that the main mechanism is the interaction with surface tension of water water-logging soil is counteractted by gravity. The amount of soil being water-logged is the same, but now the water level is higher/closer to the roots. I want to know if this actually causes the roots to be more prone to rot or if the roots have access to water and can use it faster. I also have a theory "chunkier soil" or fast draining soil can avoid this issue since they don't hold water the same way potting soil does (like a sponge)
Yeah I think you are pretty spot on with what I'm thinking too. Rocks will still allow excess water to sit below the soil do thr roots are not swimming. So with well draining stuff I'm sure its beneficial. They are correct with the idea that thr soil retains a certain amount but still and excess will at least drop down to the rocks. However if you over water too many times the rocks will be full with water up to the soil line. I don't get why they always say that it "pushes the water line closer to the roots" as if thats an issue, I've read that too. My plants have roots all the way to the bottom of the pot so its irrelevant to rocks or no rocks. I should make a video about how I maintain watering for my plants because there are good methods for avoiding over watering and what not. Thansk for the idea as well, I will try and make an experiment
OMG that is so cool! I kept wishing you had a 'normal-sized' pothos plant beside it for scale and you did show a cutting. So I guess the plant is programmed to continue the growth size and pattern as it was when part of the mother plant, despite being removed from the same environment. Really interesting, hope you've got a plan in mind for its continued growth! It's like getting a baby elephant for a pet, haha.
@@TechplantChannel Maybe along the 2x4's that frame up your greenhouse area? I guess you'll have to see if it can continue that size and how heavy it will be.
I just purchased some giant Hawaiian pothos and I am getting two stalks each with two nodes on them. The mother plant has leaves growing up a tree so they will be huge! I could use your advice here though. What if I cannot see growth points on the nodes? Meaning, which side should I have on the bottom in my prop box? I really don't want to mess these up
im using it right now, ive been using it in fish tanks and i use the old stuff once it starts falling aprt in my soil mixes. It works well ill do videos about it
Idk if it will fenestrate any time soon. Whenever I've ever seen this kind of pothos growing up a tree they only barely start fenestrating once the leaves are like 3 foot long. Even when you look up mature pothos photos, half of them don't have fenestrations, they're just torn up from the wind. Still though, the sizes that these leaves can grow to is still quite inspiring, even without fenestrations.
I am trying water propagation and I have one question: should the cut be dried out or not? Because the last time I did it with a fresh cut, it started to rott
Do you sell moss poles? I took your advice (from a previous comment like a week ago) and got some cuttings from Etsy and just now set it up in a prop tub
google giant pothos growing up trees in florida, they will fenestrate and look like monstera its incredible. some leaves are like 2ft long and 1.5ft wide

Gorgeous! Its really cool to see different tecniques done to "regular plants", it does not have to be rare to be cool and beautiful!
For sure, many of my favorite plants are just common ones lol
I appreciate you always do updates / follow ups on your earlier videos! Thanks for doing this!
No problem! Thanks for watching!
That’s so cool! I live in the Caribbean and we have these all over. They’re so cool! I didn’t ever think about getting a giant node! That would be so fun to experiment with!
yeah for sure! its fun to try some different things
I just brought a moss pole a few days ago because I noticed when I picked up the pothos vines the leaves grew larger. Seeing this video confirms what I thought. I love Pothos ❤️
Me to there are so many pretty varieties and it can be big or small depending on how you choose to grow it!
Mine took a month to grow. It was fantastic! I have six cuttings. I did exactly what you did, so I appreciate it!!!!
Wow!! Love the huge pothos!!!
When that new leaf unfurled bigger than the last.. it’s so cool that you have a tropical sized plant coming off this freakin node! Love your videos :D
Thanks! Yeah im really happy that it continues to keep growing bigger!
A couple of minutes in, blown away 👌 👏 😍
its pretty crazy right!

OOOOOO! SUPER AWESOME!!!!
Thank you! Cheers!

The cutting is so cool, I would try to get my hands on one too
Wow that's some plant!! Thanks for the update. I can't wait to see it fenestrate.
Hello! Nice video. Is the Moss Pole file for printing public?
Haha yeah we do enjoy it as much as you do. Oh man, that pothos is amazing!
I’ve been waiting for this update ☺️☺️☺️ thank you ☺️
Very cool! I would love to see you mature a Philo Micans!
I should get one on a pole!
Love this! Would love to see an update on the terracotta terraplanter you made a while back!
Hey, mate. What species is this? Is it literally just E. aureum but originally a huge plant?
Yes, its a cutting from a big tree in Florida thr wind blew it down
Amazing. Love love the update. Any updates for the moss pole file
Wow, amazing!
Amazing, love your updates & videos. 🥰
This is amazing!
Yeah its crazy big!
IVE BEEN WAITING FIR THIS
I hope it was worth the wait! Thanks for tuning in!
It's beautiful!!!!
Thank you! 😊
I definitely want to buy one now!!! looks amazing!!
yeah its really beautiful in person the leaves really have some thickness to them
Soo beautiful. I always was curious about buying those nodes. Great video
Hi, is there a public download-link for these 3d printable mosspoles? thank you
No not mine yet. I might release some versions for free, but im trying to develop a plant care business.
I have been waiting for this ♥️ thank you for the update :)
Hope you enjoyed it!
Thank you for this. I was waiting patiently for this update ❤️
That moss pole is very unique.. do u have a video on it

Love your videos! Always full of great info! Thanks for doing what you do! 😁
WHAT A BEAUTY! I´m not a fan of Pothos but wow this one is so beautiful. Really happy for you 😍
Thanks! yeah this is really cool to see compared to the regular one
@@TechplantChannel Can't wait for the next update 😍
You should grow Pothos on wooden planks to see larger leaves once they attach and grow at least 1-2 feet high
Amazing.
Sooo cool. Wow
Thanks!
Thanks for the update!! Could you do a video on how you put together the propagation bin? And maintenance? I have four nodes this size on the way!
OMG that is so cool! I kept wishing you had a 'normal-sized' pothos plant beside it for scale and you did show a cutting. lmaoo, I can keep printing more poles but eventually its going to hit the sealing, Maybe i will develope a way to attach it along the cieling?
@@TechplantChannel Maybe along the 2x4's that frame up your greenhouse area? I guess you'll have to see if it can continue that size and how heavy it will be.
@@lindam9018 yeah thats a good idea!!
Another thing I have heard is that if you root the top, it will continue producing large leaves.
AWESOME!!!! It is stunning! How exciting. so if i put mine on a moss poll it will be a bit bigger? if so....i need a moss poll 🤣
i live in FL, I need to find one of these
Wow! That is amazing. How did you make that moss pole?
I designed and 3d printed it
That is NUTS!!!
Which 3d printer do you currently use if I may ask?
Ender 3 pro and v2 and a cr10 v3. Building a voron 2.4 now
Holy crap! It's HUGE. If it keeps growing like this it'll end up being bigger than Matt2. 😂
those are huge pothos!
yeah its crazy
Everything grows bigger in Florida its quite warm n humid...
Go pothos go!
heck yeah!

I love watching your videos, I've been hearing about using fluval stratum for propagation & as a growing medium. Was wondering your thoughts on this!
im using it right now, ive been using it in fish tanks and i use the old stuff once it starts falling aprt in my soil mixes. It works well ill do videos about it
Great, I totally take your opinions & tips, seriously!
Waiting for thissss eeeeeekkk
How do you keep humidity for this plant inside house? Do you have a special plant room?
🌱☀✌😁 Thank you
I have a large room i made in thr basement 50% humidity
Idk if it will fenestrate any time soon. Whenever I've ever seen this kind of pothos growing up a tree they only barely start fenestrating once the leaves are like 3 foot long.

i see, well even if it doesn't I still am enjoying its growth
wow where do i get one? so beautiful
I love the giant pothos, may I know how you grew it?
Do you know what kind of Pothos this is? It is incredible.
I believe its just jade pothos
Can you do a ful plant tour please?
Is it ok to leave pothos under grow lights all day?
Yes I do for 15 hours a day
Arent you worried your room is gonna rot because of the humidity or something? Or you've taken some steps already to block that?
I am trying water propagation and I have one question: should the cut be dried out or not? Because the last time I did it with a fresh cut, it started to rott
Dome people have luck with both methods id try what worked for you in the past
Do you sell moss poles? I took your advice (from a previous comment like a week ago) and got some cuttings from Etsy and just now set it up in a prop tub
Not yet, I'm working on designs but I don't wanna just release garbage so its taking some effort to get a good connection
What happened to the other half of the node?
You printed the moss pole?
Yes I designed and printed it
@@TechplantChannel Curious with 3-D printer? Very nice.
is it the same species as the normal pothos?? It is really huge
yeah it was just growing in florida up a tree for a years
I didn't know that existed!
google giant pothos growing up trees in florida, they will fenestrate and look like monstera its incredible. some leaves are like 2ft long and 1.5ft wide
My fiancee would ask about the ed file that you used to print the moss tower
Anybody know if I can get these nodes shipped to Calgary, Canada??
This plant needs to be in a large tree frog enclosure.
Can someone tell me what a propagation bin is plz..
Do you have links to the files you use for your moss pole?
More updates pls!
they can grow bigger than that, and when they do, they get fenestrations ("splits") on the leaves
My aunt had a giant golden pothos and the leaves were bigger than my uncle's upper body (from head to hips)
