That’s a tough assignment for Kemp in the post giving up 4” and 40 pounds. But it was also a tough assignment for Longley trying to guard Kemp on the perimeter. Longley was a solid center. He wasn’t as good defensively as Cartwright was for the first 3-peat but Longley could draw the opposing centers further away from the basket than Cartwright due to his ability to hit a 12-15 foot jumper. He was also a very good passer.
