I work for the USDA Forest Service in Washington, DC. I have been with the agency for 26 years and I enjoy watching logging videos to gain new methods of logging operations. Today was my first time watching your channel, and I really enjoyed your logging videos. In addition, I watched one videos of your girls and you, in which you were explaining the old bridge that connected West Point and Columbus, MS. OMG, I am from Caledonia, MS. So, immediately, I subscribed to your channel. Thanks for the videos, man.
Thanks for the lesson on hoses. I didn’t know that. I have a cylinder on a tractor that needs to be brought in for rebuilding. Your video was more fun than taking it off.
What a life. Playing in the dirt all day, getting covered in oil. Your just like a 10 year old, just your toys are bigger and I am sure glad I don't have to pay the bills to fix all that stuff.
Jeez Tim! I think your bragging working in a tee shirt, nice sunny day. We got a high of 20 and snow coming on Friday. I'm a bit envious. Be safe! Thanks for the videos!
A trick on breaking the hose fittings loose is to hit the fitting once with a hammer. Just a decent whack and it will break free easy with the wrench then. 😉
Need to call letsdig 18 to come with his excavator to dig a DEEP hole . Great video on maintenance of your equipment. Some things you can not do yourself that's why you have JAY. Good man to have a round .Keep the videos rolling Tim you do one heck of a job with telling what is going on & how it's done .
Thought for a moment there you guys had done had enough of a piece of equipment and decided to put it out of your misery ! 😊 Either that or you were taking the tree planting to the next level ! 😊 Thanks for sharing and take care. 👍
Cynthia Herr Hey I have an idea ! Take your, what, 30 degrees and my 95 degrees, add them together, = 125, devide by two,........ 62.5 degrees ! 😊 That sound good to you ? 😉
Boy howdy ...back of old boy's arm is tow up..i hate those damn sharp edges that never fail to jump out at ya when a wrench slips...i have had a tearan like that more times than i can count workin on that stuff...
Cotontop3 instead of droping your blade and taking a chance of hurting your hyd cylinders push down the blade right before you get to the end of the push then push through it the next push and push blade again this will brake the break dirt lose and be more productive and it no as hard on your hyd system.
We had to take the pin out of the rod end of the cylinder and it’s just not possible to do it from a ladder. That booms sits about 20’ high when the head is on the ground.
I used to know an old man that run a dozer and every morning before he started working he would wipe down the whole front part of the blade with baby oil. He claimed it made the dirt come off the blade easier. Don't know if it actually worked or not.

I think one of my favorite things in the world is Jay saying, mmm hmm.
He kept bringing half the dirt back into the hole with him stuck to the blade. lol

You have a lot of dirt moving equipment, get a Mississippi Contractor's Lic. and start contracting highway work!

It was a good video 👍. Its hard to dig with a dozier. That’s working with what you got right there. Good stuff. Thanks for the video
If rose was there, she would be telling all of us how to do it.
cotontop3 You’re right about that 😂👍

My neighbours basement was dozed out like that in the late 80’s . The hole was 2x the size of the house 😂

You still got that knife you got strapped to your side? That looks cool.
It's windy here in NH today, whenever there's some kinda weather in ur videos, it makes it here right around when you upload the video
so I take it the hole was for the fluids that had to be disposed of and ease of access to the boom on the 638?
Digging a hole with a dozer. I bet some operators today have never heard of that. Only professionals on this job site
That hole was pretty deep and that dozer would climb out of it with no problem
How many hours do you run between services?
Do you change all filters every time or say change air and fuel filters every 2-3 oil changes?
350-400
We change fuel filters every time.
thanks for the reply
How that happened?
Your boys forearm looked a little angry around the 3:00 mark... sometimes equipment just likes to bite lol

The back of your mechanics arm looks painful, what happened??
That’s just grease
cotontop3 oh, it kinda looked like he was bleeding.
they'll never find Emma's and Anna's ex-boyfriends now!
Good video!!
I'll bet those hoses weren't cheap.
highstepperARF you would be surprised at just how much the specific fittings cost that go on hose's. 2-3 hundred bucks sometimes
I had a logger show me that hose trick years ago. Must be a trade secret of the logger's?
What did Dodge end up doing to your truck? I figured you'd get em with the lemon law
Looks like someone was a little rough on Jay's arm.
It’s grease
