You only see the difference in AF when doing birds and super fast cation like in sports, other than that, it is as good or just very slightly not as good as the competition, but I prefer Nikon glasses and color, so I'm completely happy with Nikon :) let's go Z8!

Well, you also see the difference when you shoot goats😂 but for real! I took my Z7II to the highest peak in the UAE and found some goats. The AF did terribly tracking them, even after I tried every single AF mode with all the combination of settings I could think of. Still my hit rate was abysmally low, which was very disappointing for such a large and relatively slow subject!

Great opinion on the Z8. The Z8 is a really great camera based on what I’ve seen in reviews so far. The video autofocus and stabilization seems to be doing really good, I’m hoping it is as good as what we have on the A7R V and that they can improve it even more with some firmware updates. If you have some time, check out AP Studios live stream, it’s open to people that like photography and video, no matter the brand.

I know it's not relevant to the subject of the video, but I really loved the footage from the wedding! The post work on it is absolutely top notch in my opinion and makes the thing look like a very high value production that can rival stuff I see on stock video sites, Netflix, and even Hollywood! Very well done! I'm not pre-ordering a Z8 before I try it in my hand because handling and ergonomics are the main reasons why I'm looking for a new Nikon body. Also, even though I do not use AF that much for the type of photography I do, on rare occasions when I really need it on my Z7II, it has left me disappointed. So, if the Z8 is priced right in my country and feels good in my hand, it's a no brainer TBH.

Hey Yamen, from what I’ve seen for the launch videos, it should perform well. Nikon’s AF has more options for setting up the camera for different use case, much like the others do however, you can dial things in even more, from what I’m seeing. Keep, checking the vids.

Thank you, I really appreciate it! I’m always looking to do the best with the camera and equipment I currently have. The Z8 is just another tool that will make my work easier and I can’t lie it will make it a little bit more fun.

@@waynerm002 thanks for taking the time to reply, Wayne. I have no concerns about the AF performance of the Z8 for sure, only the ergonomics until I try it and make sure it's comfortable for me As for the AF on the Z7II, I am very positive it lagging behind. The two instances I tried it to track butterflies and goats, it failed miserably and I had to revert to manual focus eventually. My hit rate was about 17%-30% if I remember correctly. I don't have the same issue with my A7III or Canon R10, so I am positive the issue is with the AF system.

@@ManyWaysFilms well, it'll be the right tool in the right hands! And the praise is well deserved😉

@@kaminobatto I see. The Z6/7 line needs a bit of tune to the AF system for other subjects. The A7R V has insect detection and I tried not on butterflies and it worked quite well. Also tried bird and airplane, worked well too. Looking forward to seeing all the tests and getting my hands on one.
