    This is by far, and I mean by really far - the best explanation of a topic compared to anything I have ever heard explained from anyone on RUclips. Not only how Resolve work and how it calculates, but also about the physic behind it that make it so. I am absolutely flabbergasted to see that this video hasn't reached millions on views. Thanks you so much for posting your video and share it with us. THis is incredible work you do. please continue if you can afford the time. you are providing an incredible service to the community.

    wow man, great explanation.. was wondering abut this and it never occurred to me about the nodal pan.. was so busy trying to learn the matchmaking I never thought about parallax and the computer not knowing the math because of nodal panning.. and thanks for your help on steakunder!! keep going! **edit** and one more thing, im trying to crack the code on iPhone 12s to use the lidar for z depth maps. looks like I have to get into swift programming kits, or at least find someone to help me out. would be amazing to be able to tap into that. unfortunately the majority of people just want to use it to see baby CG elephants dance on their kitchen floor :)

    Hi Bernd! Do you know if there is any workflow for track a 360 camera in Fusion?

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  Год назад

      Not specifically, that I'm aware. I suppose you could extract a 2d part either with the KartaVR plugins or just with the latLong patcher and do a regular 3D camera tracking with that. Then copy the tracking data from the tacked camera onto the spherical camera. That should work though I haven't had a need to try that workflow yet.

    Could you do a doly and or truck/slider, in first half the shot, so to have more information on the depth and then do the pan with all that gathered info?

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  3 года назад

      Sure, if the pan goes through areas that were covered before, you would have the depth info already from that time...

    Congratulations. Your channel is very good but I would like to help you improve. I think you could also record your lessons in 4k because it makes it easier to see the DAVINCI controls.

      Thanks for the tip - but may I ask which control is so small that you can't see it in 1080p resolution? I am experimenting with options to magnify the screen or highlight stuff - but so far I haven't really settled on a way that is truly helpful, doesn't take lot's of time in post and is not too distracting at the same time.

      @@VFXstudy - I appreciate your reply. I meant that viewing will be more comfortable, especially for people who have a 4K monitor

    I have learned a lot from your tutorials. Thanks for making them.
    If you had the option to use Syntheyes instead of what comes with Resolve, would you do it, or do you prefer Resolve? It’s a general question on tracking, not specific to the panning problem illustrated in your video.

    • @VFXstudy
      @VFXstudy  3 года назад

      Syntheyes as a dedicated tracking solution has some advanced features that Resolve doesn't. Specific option for nodal track, options to track with help of survey shots, I think also some object tracki g if I'm not mistaken - not an expert here, but there's definitely more. If Resolve does the job for your scenarios, then there's no need to leave the application, but if you need more, a dedicated tracking solution could be worth it

      I used syntheyes quite a bit some years ago. very powerful and clean. but really think about what you want to do with your tracking. we usually tend to get excited about something new and want the very best, only to find out were tracking a painting on the wall, or doing a few CG objects in a match move. Syntheyes is great but its also very deep for serious tracking needs. Fusions tracker is more than capable for handling 90 percent of what we need. very little need for supervised tracking. and also remember, true matchmaking isn't hitting the auto track key, it does take a lot of manual work to get something really tight if you're getting complex with your shots.
