OMG why do you not have a million subs? I thought this was going to be some huge channel i never heard about just to learn you have barely any? The build, the video editing?!?!? This is going to be a massive channel.
@blainemobius2697, my thoughts exactly. We are witnessing a multi-million subscriber channel in it's infancy. If it's this good now...can't wait to see how it progresses!
Same here! I'm excited to see more projects like this from this creator! It's rare to catch someone this early in their RUclips career, and this really is a great starting point for them. I look forwards to seeing all the projects they make while useing this desk that put them on the map to bring them to us here! @Art2Cents I look forwards to seeing what you make in the future with your fun style!
Most times when people start "renovating " old furniture it hurts me because is just destroing antiques, this one, this one looks incredible and I want o take it for me.
Thanks so much @plia1984! This roll top was a 1980's reproduction made mainly from oak veneered melamine...hope that eases the pain a little. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
Love that puff ball so much! He messes with me all the time...such a rascal! Super happy the video found you. Thanks for watching and commenting @ryanaltman4466 !
the editing. the HUMOR. the STYLE. omg. how do you not have a bajillion views?!?!?!!? i'm working on a screenplay right now in which the main character is a furniture flipper. this video has been massive inspiration!
Thanks you for the kind words @jeryncambrah. I love the idea of your screenplay and I'm over the moon that this video has given you inspiration. You made my day!!! Thanks for watching and commenting, all the best with the screenplay.
You are wonderful! Right away you have origional ideas instead of cliches from the land of grey and beige. I just started watching and the desk may end up beige but I am so glad I found you it doesnt matter.
I was skeptical at first, then I was blown away by your creativity and ingenuity. Those lamps look AMAZING! You also had some really great, thoughtful ideas, like routing your wires so they're all hidden. You've got a new subscriber.
Thank you so much @frenchfriar for taking the time to watch, subscribe and comment. I really appreciate it! I'm tickled pink every time I sit down at the desk and say "alexa turn on desk." So pleased with the lights.
My boss was commissioned to restore an old roll-top lawyers desk EXACTLY like the desk you used in this build. I had so much fun restoring and returning the wood to its natural color again. It is believed to have been made in the late 1800s With that being said, you did an absolutely fantastic job on this. It really is one of a kind
Wow that sounds like an amazing desk! My craigslist freebie roll top was a 1980s repo. Lots of water logged melamine with oak veneer and printed oak stickers on masonite. She was a beaut!....haha. Thanks so much for watching and commenting @riverwood_creations !
Thanks for watching @aiqi4664 ! We are always trying to figure out how much "how to" and "process" to include. As well as gauge what aspects people might be interested in. Making these Vids is such a learning experience. Your comment is super helpful and much appreciated! Thanks for taking the time to comment.
The build is fabulous, your onscreen personality is excellent and the video editing is on point. You're going to make it. Also, the outtakes were hilarious.
I liked that you went as fast as you did. Blessed with Asperger’s, l end up fast forwarding many of the shows l watch (yeah, even the 10 minutes one). You have such a delightful style, l can relate to. You have a new follower.
That was incredible to watch. It’s like a more elegant version of the beautiful pieces you can find tucked into the various themed areas of Disney parks. The whimsy is off the charts!
Holy macaroni! That is unbelievable. Thr globe lamps! The panels! The drawers! The cord storage! The color! The paper bag faux leather! The everything! I am just stunned. I am SO glad RUclips recommended your video to me.
Thanks so much @kkoal1! You nailed it! whimsical and peter pan... lost boy who stole James Hooks desk! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
Just wow! I don't normally comment on youtube videos, but I just love it when creative people does creative things!!! This is the first video of yours I have watched and now looking forward to many more!
Such a beautiful franken-desk! Love the personality that shines through the whole video and project! Hope to see more furniture flips with such character
What an entertaining, creative, and fun video. I love the woodworking, and the editing is fantastic. You are charismatic with a grest sense of humor and charismatic. Thanks for this master piece 🙌
Thanks @ruthcarter8895 for taking the time to watch and comment! We really appreciate it and can not wait to share more of our artistic exploits with you!
i was falling down a youtube rabbit hole of people kitbashing tabletop miniatures, and somehow ended up finding a guy kitbashing full size furniture. insanely cool project, hope this channel gets huge
I just want to say that im so enamored by this desk and the process.... like holy cow!!! Its got my favorite colors, my favorite style, AND it was made by recycling old peices and making something new??? This is amazing. Definitely aubscribing!!! This is so inspiring! Thank you!!
RUclips algorithm brought me here, and i am delighted!! I love you made the desk a practical, sturdy piece that would meet your needs and also one that suited your style. The 3D printed lights are next level! Subscribed
I hate it when people flip an old beautiful antique furnitures but this one?!!? OH MY! He literally enhanced and upgrade it to very functional grand desk! And I love it!
While not a great fan of the paper bits, the rest of the desk is magnificent! And what an incredible fun video, your editing must have taken hours to achieve this. Great job!
This just popped up on my FYP here on the tube and I instantly was like that’s a cool desk wonder how he’s gonna make that? Then when I realized you made it by repurposing other pieces it just blew my mind, I love it. I love the colors and all the neat little details that are tucked away all over. I actually paused for a moment when you showed the final desk just so I could take all the details in! I think the blue tone you picked was very appropriate for a captain’s desk, I know most of the extant examples we have now are very dark but I think some research has been done to show they were painted at one point because it would help it last longer when at sea. They’ve just had a dark faux stain painted over top of it to make it fit other time periods over the years. Either way I am in awe, I’ve gotten some good inspiration for a project of my own now! I can’t wait to see your channel blow up, and I have definitely subbed!
We are definitely trying to do what we love as much as we can and sharing with others is such as bonus @stevec404! Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and comment.
WOW, WOW, WOW! You are amazingly able to use creativity to make something new and wonderful from something old to give it new life! Fantastic! Very creative and even better craftsmanship! Keep it up... you're giving more value to creativity!
We are so happy that the channel is finally getting out there to the type of audience that likes this kind of stuff! Thanks for watching and commenting @ryukemadao5582 !
You are literally the opposite of me but your video is well done, you provide excellent info and it's "woodworking adjacent" enough for me - "liked" and "subscribed".
I can"t believe you have so few subcribers ! That video is clearly god-tier RUclips. Energy, editing, script, subject, personality, outcome, ... I can't wait to see what you will create next !
Hey sometimes you just need a pal to get those hard to reach spots! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment @dannyaraujo961! Appreciate the luv!
Gorgeous desk! And your editing style and personality make it really fun to watch. I was shocked to see such a criminally low subscriber count. Keep up the good work, cant wait to watch this channel grow.
Haha...Mona would have such a stink face! The desk's placard would read Desk made from street trash. Artist: Some weird ass goofball. hahaha. Thanks fer watching @kevinfoster926 !
This was a smile upon my heavy head from the 1st moment ❤️🩹ive subscribed & look forward to watching smiling & getting a few more wrinkles on my brain, Thanks!❤️🩹
We really appreciate you taking the time to watch, support, and comment @user-he7wb5in9e! Thanks so much, we cant wait to share more of our artistic exploits with YOU!
So, I think I found my RUclips doppelganger, albeit a more energetic and funny one. Congrats on tickling the algorithm, dude! I had to take a look at your previous videos to analyze why this one popped off, so I can give some unsolicited advice based on what I’ve gathered from years of RUclips. I think your thumbnail is strong on this one, certainly the strongest you’ve had so far because it sets up expectation and compresses the narrative in an easy to read picture. It also gives enough of a reveal to cause people to click because they will think it worth it. But I think it is the retention you got on the video itself that made it be shared by the algorithm. You immediately get into the story and keep it flowing and interesting. Of course the main thing is that the project itself is so transformative, beyond what an average person would think and know to do. I do wish each major step you took had a bit more distinct explanation of why you are veering that way, and the pace could have had a bit more variation to allow more restful times so the video could have gotten an extra minute or two which would allow you to earn more from it, but it is best to err on the side of being faster than not. As for the thumbnail, I would have to know what the click-through rate has been to see if tweaking it would be beneficial, since while it piked my curiosity when first served it, it took several appearances for me to finally click because from the picture it didn’t seem as transformative as it actually was. But do not change the thumbnail unless it is clear that all the algorithmic juices have gone dry, because “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.” I think as it stands this video could reach 200k or even 500k in the near future. If you only post videos of this caliber your channel will explode. But the main advice is to always outperform expectations and never publish more videos than the audience can consume and look forward to. Wishing you lots of success! Take care!
Hello YT doppelganger! Thanks so much for giving the video a watch and analysis. We are thrilled to finally be getting a lil YT luv from algorithm and especially viewers. Making these videos is certainly a labor of love! We are excited to continue to learn and grow and try new things. Very kind of you to take the time to write this comment. We really appreciate the critic, feedback and willingness to share what you have learned on your adventure! Excited to sit down this weekend to our first cozy fire of the season with a cup of tea and watch some suburbanhomestead! Thanks again old bean! Best!
Thanks so much @MisfitsofEerie! We are so excited to see and hear more about the upcoming Misfits of Eerie Kickstarter Campaign! Everybody check it out!

This video just happened to pop up on my feed, and, oh, let me tell you, I'm supremely happy it did! Your creativity is "S" tier level amazing! The completed desk looks more like a piece of artwork than just some fine furniture. Keep up with the great work!
This is absolutely beautiful!!! I love the reporpusing of old furniture along with using technology to do a reproduction where it makes sense. You've got an excellent eye for design and are very entertaining to watch. Please keep posting!
Man this is crazy good! Now I'm interested in a house/office/workshop tour- you seem like the type of artist that'd have one of those craftsmen homes perfectly tailored to the creative type of person they are!
I hear u on that @FinkyBaby! It's been very encouraging that Mr. AL Gorithm has allowed our channel to gain a little traction. Tickled pink with all the kind comments. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment. I really appreciate it!
Wow!!!……what a fabulous result. I subscribed right away because I can’t wait to see more from you and I need to see more of that adorable little white fluff. The color scheme of the desk is very steampunk and…well…. It’s just beautiful.
Wooow! Hats off, Sir! 🥳 Very creative, well executed and funny! 🤩 Plus the shooting and editing - just... I have been left speechless 😂 Can't wait to your next video 😊
Awesome to hear that @gnirnia1773...cause we have a lot of 3D print projects in mind for the future. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment. I really appreciate it!
Wow!! Absolutely amazing. I’m not fully through the video yet, but I bet im gonna be more than delighted to see the final result. Plus, amazing editing!! ❤️
You don’t have tootsies, you have flippers!! lol🤗 I love the desk! It looks all steampunk to me. All the little drawers will be great for your things. And I love that they are in unexpected places. Well done!🤗❤️🐝 I subscribed🤗
The camerawork and editing is insane! Also just the pure woodworking skills and ingenuity in recycling makes me wonder how I've never heard of you before! Definitely subscribed 👍
I absolutely love this desk - you're so clever! The flickering 3D-printed lamps are a triumph. Hope your channel grows and grows, you absolutely deserve it! 💙
@@Art2Cents My pleasure. I have a question: The lamps. Are they something you might consider _selling the plans_ for on your Etsy? I'd love to make something like this once I've saved up for a 3D printer, but I've no idea where to start just now!
Hey @Ron-Ayres. We are interested in setting something up in the near future where we sell print files/models from things we make on our channel. It would be a great way to share and maybe make a little to fund our videos. Not sure if it will be thru our Etsy shop or a 3d model site, but we will post on our social media. Thanks for asking!
Thank you so much for your kind comment @TraceyOfficial! It really made my day! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, cant wait to share more with you!

Super original & creative. This build deserved a lot more than 10:02 of time & a lot more DIY detail. But the result is fabulous.
Thanks so much @vintagelady1! As we learn and grow we might explore more long form videos for sure. Thanks for taking the time to comment!

This was a smile upon my heavy head from the 1st moment ❤️🩹ive subscribed & look forward to watching smiling & getting a few more wrinkles on my brain, Thanks!❤️🩹

Absolutely @ResinBelle ! If something is broke or damaged...give it new life. And less stuff ends up in a landfill! Thanks for the support!
Take care!

The flickering 3D-printed lamps are a triumph. Hope your channel grows and grows, you absolutely deserve it! 💙
We appreciate it so much @Ron-Ayres! Thank you!!!
@@Art2Cents My pleasure. I have a question:
The lamps.
@@Art2Cents Great news. I hope you go for it!
I love new meets old. Nice work!
