Hi Mandy, I felt so bad about you trying to cook and record a video through a migraine I just had to comment. I've had migraines for over 30 years and I recently went on propranolol to see if it would help and I've been migraine and almost completely headache free for 3 months now. That's the longest I've basically gone for the last 30 years without a migraine (usually had multiple migraines a month & other headaches in between). I'm so happy I just want to tell everyone I know who has migraines to see if it could help someone else. It's a prescription, so you'd obviously need to discuss with your doctor. Best of luck and thanks for the great videos & recipes.

If you'll rinse the cut onion pieces in water it will take away a lot of the raw onion taste that some people dislike. It leaves the onion flair and crunch that we onion lovers want but takes away the bite.

My mom made a creamy cucumber salad that was to die for! I didn’t get her recipe before she passed and have tried to duplicate without success ☹️. I’ll have to look around, maybe you already made something like it! If not it’s on my wish list! FYI it didn’t have tomatoes, momma had 7 kids so she had to try to make stuff we would all eat!
Thanks for the recipes and the comments… I’m gonna try the instant mashed potato flakes next time I get in that kind of situation! Sounds much better’s then the cornstarch!
    Hugs 😊

When I was a child(a long long time ago) we always had the tomato and cucumber salad in the fridge. It was called summer salad. I am an old southern woman and I grew up on 3 acres everyone I knew had a small garden. We also had chickens. The things in that salad grew well all summer long in what we called the yard. I live in Texas and you would never call anything smaller 2 acres a garden. I believe the red onion was a grocery store item. I do not remember having those. We did have green onions but summer salad always had red onions.

For some reason, ground chicken can be costly at the grocery store. So, if you purchase boneless, skinless chicken breast and thighs, and put it in your food processor, it makes ground chicken almost instantly. If you use a lot of ground chicken, buy the chicken in bulk, when there's a great sale, process it, put it in 1-2lb portions, in freezer bags, and freeze flat, to stack once frozen. Easy peezy!

Last summer I purchased some Alabama White Bbq sauce and it’s delicious. And here’s a fun fact: it’s made by Duke’s. I’m thinking that’s the sauce for which you made the dupe. I’m telling you, it is delicious 😋

I'm from the Pacific Northwest and have used the term "scarfing it down" all my life.

I notice that when you use broccoli you cut all the florets off but not use the stem. The best bit in my opinion. If you cut the outer part or the woody bit of the stem and steam/saute with the rest of the florets it's delicious. Less waste is a winner in my house.

My grandparents came from Alabama so I am not sure if I picked it up from them or not, but I live in Michigan and we always say scarfing it down. Happy Mothers Day. Oh love the videos being filmed outside so we can hear the birds outside.

Grown adults can do squeezy fruit packets! I grab one and a Kind bar for Sunday-on-the-go breakfast. 1 serving of fruit = done. ❤

I love making the same summer salad with English cucumber, ripe tomatoes and red onion. If you want to keep it figure friendly but SO delicious....dress it with a pinch of salt and pepper and the juice of a few limes. SO GOOD! You can also add a bit of sliced garlic to taste.

Hi Mandy again I heard you speak about migraines. I used to get migraines. I was using Salonpas pads behind my neck. I found out I was low in B12. So I take low dose 500 mcg of B12 daily. No more aches. I'm feeling great. Maybe you should check B12. When labs run blood work they do not check for active B12 in the blood. Usually regular blood exam will show B12 is normal but it's not. Check it out with your doctor and you can be migraine free. I read low B12 is causes migraines like I had. Take care.
