Same but I get excited and want to buy it so it sucks when it's something like MUA Academy that I can't buy in the US 😢 I tried anyway but they won't ship to my address. I would love to see brands showcase their products on older women (50 and up) via photos displayed in Ulta, Sephora, all other cosmetics stores, as well as hair salons. All I see are young girls. They need to cater to all ages. And without filters.
I agree. My mom wants to get into makeup a bit more and I’d love to know what brands would work better for her mature skin type. But brands don’t talk about it as much as they could
I hope you see this reply because I work at JCPenney and we revamped our beauty space since Sephora left and there are GREAT products for mature skin. We also use older models on some of our marketing as well! There’s a couple skin care brands that come to mind immediately! Cosrx and prai beauty. We also carry everything from drug store pricing (elf) to high end (mirabella, Kim chi) and there’s some new stuff coming this year that Sephora and ulta carries!
Yes!!! I think that’s why so many women, including I, are so afraid of getting older. I’ve seen and heard it everywhere. Mature looking women are beautiful, too.
I have hazel eyes and wholeheartedly agree. The purple really brings out the green in my eyes. One of the best pieces of makeup advice I got when I started getting heavily into it was to cold with shadows that contrast your eye color/skin tone the best and find out what pops for you as an individual. So far for me purple and red have been some of the better options for more bold makeup ❤
On your response to the politics opinion: you said supporting someone who kills dogs was a "dramatic example" but I think you prove such a good point. No one in their right mind would support harm of dogs, but they put so many human rights issues in the "oh that's just politics" box. But if you support a brand that funds conversion therapy leading to high suicide rates in LGBTQ youth.....that's a pretty dramatic impact. I just think so many people who have the privilege to ignore "politics" when it's the lives of real people don't know what they are talking about and just want to live in a bubble. Thank you for standing up for those of us who think it matters to see where our money goes.
I stopped dying my hair two years ago (now 53) and not only is my hair healthier, but my hair line is filling in with new hair! I love my long grey hair and I’ve never felt more beautiful.
I started going grey at 13 and none of my peers said anything about it (they had way more material to work with) it was always adults in my life being uncomfortable with it. Now at 31, my hair is HELLA grey, I dye it ALL the colors I wasn't allowed to in my teens and I don't have to bleach it and I get so much dimension because of the grey. ❤❤❤
I wish I could stop dying my hair. How did you do it? Did you just let it grow out, and dealt with it? I wonder if I could get gray highlights (like when women would get their hair frosted years ago) to help with the transition. My husband keeps encouraging me to go for it. I am 61 and SO tired of dealing with white roots showing!
I'm lazy with dying mine. I hate doing it but don't know if I truly want to stop yet because I'm still at that weird point of my hair greying. It looks more like skunk stripes
I totally agree and laughed out loud when Robert mentioned the influencers who get over excited over a makeup item that does what it's supposed to lol. It's actually pretty wild to think about a girl gasping into a camera like, " 😲😲OH MY GOD! this Glossy SUPER Wet Shine Glossy Gloss just made my lips soooo glossy! I'm OBSESSED!"
I think the reason that some people complain about brands being involved in politics is not because they are afraid that the brands wouldn't have the same views as them, I think it's because they don't care about important issues that are affecting certain minority groups because it's not affecting them. So they would rather not hear about it than have to admit that A) They don't care about those people and their rights; and B) They will continue to support those brands.
I’m 51, also have green eyes and mostly go for bold purple, plum and burgundy eyeshadow looks. If you like Orchid, you should also check out the “In a Trance” Colourpop palette. The shimmers aren’t fantastic quality but the mattes in that particular palette are really uniquely flattering for green eyes. I use it together with both the Orchid and the Lilac 9-pan palettes for nice matte gradients then use singles from Indie brands for the shimmer.
Completely agree. What's especially refreshing about trixie or patrick star is that they can talk at length about their products and explain exactly why their product contains xyz ingredient. In the wider realm of celebrity brands, this is incredibly refreshing
i really miss the revlon intenza pot gel eyeliner :c that stuff would look so matt, you would need an oily remover because nothing else would even scratch it, and the pot lasted forever. now there's literally zero gel liners in pot form aviable for me at a drugstore level were i live, no matter the store, they just don't exist or don't get imported. And the liquid ones have always felt like a dowgrade for me, even decent ones like those from nyx. My own brush + the consistency of a gel will always be the best control, texture and ease of application, and gels won't crack or risk looking shiny or seethrough like liquid ones. not to mention, they don't dry as fast in their pots as a liquid liner will.
I do like when influencers get excited about products-in a genuine way of course. I get so excited when I get new makeup and the colors are pretty or it feels so nice. And I love doing bold eyeshadow! I’ve been addicted to color since I was a kid. I had the 96 crayola pack. I flipped through Avon magazine because I loved all the funny names they gave the colors. I have purple and blue braids and it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it makes me feel like my authentic self and I get regular compliments on it so some people get the vibe.
i'll wear them even if i'm just going to buy bread. and i've made a name for myself around my block lol, they used to talk me down because i would always do my own style disregarding the time of day, weather or anything else, but after years, now i'm the one who's "always ready" lol. it's both sad, because i have endured a lot of bullying, but it has some notes of heartwarming by the end.
I will be 56 next month and wear bold colors, glitters and shimmers eyeshadows and get compliments all the time. Wear what makes you happy and dont let others dictate your happiness 😊
THANK YOU for spreading awareness about the importance of knowing which politics a brand supports. There are a couple of companies I've always loved that I'm absolutely boycotting because their politics make me sick. Politics is in everything we do. Everything we buy. Politics affects EVERYONE'S LIVES. I wish people would wise up to this fact. It's incredibly naive not to be aware of it. 💜
IMO, it’s not naïveté that drives people to say this about politics, it’s being unhappy to realize brands support causes they don’t. And at least in America, the folks I typically hear saying they wishes brands/companies/sportsball teams/musicians/etc would stay out of politics are conservative folks unhappy that these entities aren’t supporting THEIR politics. 🤷🏼♀️
@@khillsI agree, but I think that goes both ways, not just conservatives. When you have a certain belief and a company or person you love supports an opposite opinion, it can feel like betrayal because most people have strong convictions, and when they feel information is false and being spread to a large audience who takes everything to heart, it’s very concerning. It’s such an interesting part of being human.
i think politics should not be pushed in every aspect of our lives. entertainers - entertain. i don’t care what your beliefs are. that’s not why i watch a movie. i watch to be entertained and get away from it all. same with going to watch a ball game/sports. it’s to get away from the daily grind of life.
@cathycasuccio-ec4sw Some people don't want to directly fund a company whose values don't aline with theirs. A company is WAY different to an actor or a sports player.
after decades of dying her hair my mom finally embraced her gray hair and she loves it! shes always getting compliments and complementing other ladies with gray hair when she sees them 🥰
Another beauty influencer ( ironic) made a statement that I agree with. Those who are easily heavily influenced are lacking in critical thinking skills. This applies to being easily influenced not just on beauty, clothing but influenced on views, purchases, hobbies, how they talk etc. This isn't like oh, I have been looking for a certain item so I'm watching vids about it and found one that seems good so I'll try it. But the over almost gullibility of excitement or maybe wanting to fit in because something is popular or going along with everyone else is saying just because that's what you are told vs actually looking into it.
The sad thing is, that describes the kids going to the beauty store all too well. Most of them haven't developed critical thinking to the point of filtering the content they consume. Of course, too many adults never learned how to do that, either. In the US, I blame the pressure to have kids pass standardized tests and not actually learn important things.
I believe that while nothing forcibly compels someone to buy something, it's undeniable that we're so heavily influenced that we often don't realize it anymore. I hear people say there's nothing wrong with a brand selling a product that "fixes" your insecurities, but I believe they're not seeing the full picture. In a capitalist society, brands profit more when more people buy, so naturally, they'll do whatever it takes to increase sales. That's where advertising comes in. For example, "with this serum, you won't have to worry about wrinkles any longer" implies that wrinkles are something you should worry about. We're socialized from a young age to worry about our aesthetics, learning what's "ugly" versus "pretty". I'd argue that insecurities based on aesthetics are more common in women because they're often praised for their appearance rather than their actions, taught to be pretty objects for the world, believing it's their purpose. I believe that trans people, through transitioning, can highlight many differences in how we're treated and how we internalize societal messages. Having experienced aligning with different gender roles and feeling pressure to conform to various ideals, they provide valuable insights. As a non-binary individual who was socialized to "act, think, and value" masculinity, my insecurities also evolved during my transitioning process. Being perceived as more feminine intensified pressures related to presenting as feminine, particularly concerning aesthetics like aging, skin texture, and delicacy. Paradoxically, a part of me finds joy in having these insecurities, as if they validate my trans identity, which seems absurd! I'm pretty sure these brands are targeting the insecurities of women and feminine-presenting individuals.
I also think Americans are just conditioned to be susceptible to advertisements. Throughout their whole life, they are consistently being advertised to, to a degree that you’re spending less time of your life not being advertised to than you are witnissing ads. It’s certainly true for other nationalities as well but the amount of ads Americans view vs the rest of the world is far far larger. Add on top of that their education system being designed to pump out work horses instead of fully realized adults and you’ve got a country full of gullible people that lack critical thinking skills.
@@Silly_fairy yes, 99% of the compliments i get are regarding my appearance, and same goes for the critiques. it makes it feel like it doesn't matter what you do, but it's all about the wrapping,t he delivery. I love makeup, i can appreciate a compliment, but i can tell for example that people also are less likely to do so but rather stare at me as if they want to burn me when i do something more expressive lol. it's sad. like, how dare that woman do something other than "clean makeup" and "feature enhancing", they'll brand you as a clown or a hooker or wathever or just "looking for attention" (which in itself is already it's own can of worms in regards to how we objectify women) i genuinly have no girlfriends who don't experience some level of social anxiety regarding their appearance, and if you talk to them you see the usual factors: negging boyfriends, family, school and societal pressures, past bulling, low self esteem, unrealistic standards all around them, etc, which is so sad to see, because they are all beautiful. Hell, there's so much to point out in this regard, but basically you only have value as a woman if you are 30 or younger, fertile, no wrinkles, no hair anywhere, "no-makeup makeup", cis, hetero, skinny with an hourglass figure, not too loud or vocal, etc........and companies both create new insecurities, and feed of the existing ones exacerbating them.
Before MUA launched I teamed up with them to promote them at one of my club nights after a deal with Illamasqua was taking too long (I ran leftfield clubs and knew Mika Doll). Dealing with MUA was absolutey wonderful, a truly lovely brand and i'm so glad things have continued to work for them
I work for Clinique, and they are starting to attempt to dip their toes in SOME modern things, concerning color (the quad palette in Going Steady is actually a very pigmented purple eyeshadow palette that took me by surprise) I talked to my higher up a year or more ago and said we NEEDED to get with the times and make a liquid highlighter and she told me, basically, its not gonna happen. But this year we did it, a primer/hightlighter liquid that isnt half bad (but not super bright, still very natural 😂) and i am proud of us for that 😂
Lol! In the last 6 months I have discovered the Clinique gel tech liner upper waterline without transferring to the bottom...and black honey almost lipstick, have I been living under a rock my whole life?!
Keep nudging them in the right direction, @julsweaver. Clinique remains the one brand I can count on not to upset my skin, and the product formulations are usually lovely.
I hate it when influencers say they love a product (99%of the time drugstore) say it’s beater than high end but never use it again and declutter it in their next declutter and keep what they say it was better than.
I am with you on carving the eyebrows out, Robert. I don’t always do it but it really does add an extra little something. I’m also totally with you on drugstore products, drugstore is just KILLING IT lately! Especially on base products, which the drugstore was lacking in big time in the past. I have pretty much transitioned to all drugstore products except for a few high end staples that just can’t be duped
My unpopular opinion: people need to stop saying how much they hate influencers that lie or don't disclose adds etc. If they keep watching them. At the end of the day you choose who you watch and support and there are a lot of great and honest beauty influencers out there
i mean, ture? but also, not everyone is gonna inmediately notice if something is an undisclosed ad or not, since that over the top excitement is the standard regardless, ad or no ad. So they are right to complain about it. And we do have those rules IRL, it's the internet who is lagging behind in said regulations. We should ask for better.
Robert's description of how he reacts when he really likes something is epic!!! It feels like the makeup is flirting with me!!! That statement made my day! 💜💜💜
"If you're truly into makeup, then makeup Is Exciting" yesssss!🎉🎉🎉🎉 you have just ended the slightly embarrassing feeling I get when sharing being excited over something a lot of people make me feel is silly, unimportant, or vain.
I get that people are annoyed with rich influencers getting free PR and products, but also business is business and they get paid to promote. It just kinda is how the industry works rn and of course brands are not going to give regular people free products...
I agree but I think it's on the influencer's responsability to either get off some pr lists if they don't like the product and give away as much as possible if they know they won't use/like. Just to keep the hoarding and expired products to a minimum
When yoy were editing, I love that you left in "I think i just heard a bird throw up 👀" it took me out and shot me full of affection - I love it when it feels like youre venting to a friend.
Thank you for your honest and insightful input. You never fail to hit the mark with your thoughtful opinions about gender-based expectations and always consider viewpoints other than those you've personally experienced! ❤ You're a treasure! 🪙
I love your expertise and your fabulous personality. As a professional MUA, I tell my private clients who come to me for consultation and guidance that wearing a foundation or tinted moisturizer is beneficial because it protects the skin from the environment. Start with a prepared face, apply and at night when you wash it off, the skin beneath has been shielded all day. People who do not wear foundation are doing themselves a disservice.
I agree with you so much. Also, Robert, the way you think about brands and politics, is the way I feel about supporting influencers, or not. People love to say how much they hate this person or that person, but they still watch the videos about them and the drama. If you really don’t like them or their behavior, don’t give them the attention. If you give them attention, you are giving them money and power.
I love when you try a product you love .. example.. you reaction to the watermelon gloss so awesome. Your genuine love and reactions to a product you love 😘💘
Those who are jealous of influencers getting free stuff clearly do not understand the amount of work it takes to be an influencer who has enough followers to warrant free packages. There is content mapping, scheduling, recording, editing…hours and hours of work with a constant pressure to keep followers interested. It’s a full time job and let’s not even talk about the amount of hate and stupidity they have to deal with in comments and messages! Nah…you deserve every free package you get and there is NO way I’d trade!!
That's what I said to my daughter who said she wanted to be a RUclipsr and I said, cool, but please consider you have to do x, y , z if you want to be successful and she was like 😮
Yes and no... We all work full time and they get paid more than us. Let's not ignore the fact that they are still extremely priviledged compared to us. Regardless good on them for getting free pr, my issue is more with brands sending a full foundation collection rather than shade match the best they can. It's wasteful. Pr boxes could be done in a better way, influencers could themselves get off pr lists of brands they don't like/use instead of hoarding packages at home. Both facts can be true
I'm VERY PALE, cool olive tone (yes we exist, I am blue green) and I can't make full coverage lilsticks work. Always too orange or purple, no matter the shade. So I stick with sheer (or sheering out) lipstick or tinted lipbalm.
You may already know about her, but Hannah Louise Poston is a very pale, neutral leaning cool olive. She has some excellent suggestions for desaturated tones. My complexion is medium olive, but I've found some of her recommendations even work for me since things tend to lean very yellow, red, or orange on my skin tone as well.
I'm 65 and I love wearing makeup. Some days I wear a tinted sunscreen, mascara and lip gloss and on special days like when I'm going to a restaurant or family get together I will wear a full face of makeup. It's an individual thing.
My aunts' hair went white as opposed to gray and I have always secretly hoped mine would do the same! I'm 35 and I swear that I'm the only mom at my kids' school that wears bold and shimmer eyeshadows, so I think sadly it starts even younger than you might think!
i wanna share my unpopular opinion: if a brand doesn’t cater to you/ doesn’t change their ways to fit your skin color. it’s not for you. some brands don’t listen to dark skin people to make better shades but if they aren’t willing to listen we should leave them alone
I don't think we should because we've fought so hard for inclusivity and making more options available for people with deeper skin tones. If people stop checking these brands then we're gonna end up the way things were before, when we could count the number of brands making deep shades on one hand.
Maybe, but I don't want you to have less choice than I do. If we're at a place where there's heaps of choice for you and your skin tone and there's heaps of choice for me and my skin tone, then we can ignore brands that aren't for us. Until you have plenty of choice, I'd like there to be fuss about mainstream brands in drugstores and beautu retailers and department stores that are too lazy and racist to even try.
I am with you on this. If you have been around since forever and now jumping on getting foundation for my color just now!? I am not not buying you. I miss Iman brand and a petty Black Opal faded away
people talk about being fourty as if they are dead already, when really a fourty year old has 40 more years ahead of them. are you kidding me? 40 years of being boring just to please some crowd? no thanks- Like for real, those comments give me vibes of a teenager thinking being 25 is old lol
Thank you for sharing another awesome low coverage lip product! (I kind of sound like a bot now....) But seriously, knowing what the texture is like and how the colors look is so helpful. Especially because you don't sugar coat or pull punches, even on ads
I'd love to see more videos like this, i love the discussion. Its so refreshing and a good way to open your mind and to start thinking about it differently instead of being fed products and ads. I love it, thank you Robert ❤
We should talk about politics more as humans, keeping your political stance hidden and only talking to people who have the same political mind set means you learn nothing about the other side. Politics aren’t just about sides or issues or disagreements, they actually shape and affect us, it’s like not talking about what you want for dinner with a group of your family or friends in case someone doesn’t want the pizza you want 🙈
Drag queen makeup may not be "innovative" but it fills a gap between regular and costume makeup. I was looking for a black gloss and Sephora had nothing (the salesperson tried to sell me a purple gloss as close enough( but Trixie Mattel has a great black gloss. Before, I probably would have gone to a costume makeup formula.
I love watching your new makeup videos. Gives me inspiration for the next look. You're right. I don't like overpowering lip color either. I've been trying new ones to give them a fair chance. I'm always doing the bleeding lip because of you lol. Thanks Robert! ☺️
I feel it’s great when good makeup professionals offer free tips and experience. I honestly feel it’s weird to not be anything other than grateful to have skills and knowledge shared freely.
A product I got turned on to from you that I never knew existed was the lip powder in your kit from Ciate London. It has wonderful color and absolutely can't feel anything on your lips. Also, the little package it's in with a mirror is perfect for a small bag or your pocket. Now, I'm going to get some luscious lip balm to go on top! Thanks Robert!! We love you so keep the content coming! I have full faith in you and if you say something is good... I'm getting it! I have Isamaya (hope I spelled it correctly) eyeshadow because you loved it... And so do I!! Have a blessed weekend. ❤
I usually can't stand the look of false lashes, but those look like stunning but still natural lashes-LOVE! The lip balms, also, make it look like you have natural lip color & texture to be envied just with clear gloss on-again, LOVE!
Thank you SO much for continuing to show us the more affordable brands that you love.... I'll definitely be going to check the eyeshadow palettes out..... and every one of those lip balms! 😍
Okay, MUA Make Up Academy, I placed my order midway through the video yesterday morning and it has arrived and is in my hands less than 24hrs later - no expediated delivery costs, this is standard! 😮
I just bought the lip balm in Cherry Kiss - it's so nice! Smooth and glossy without being sticky, and smells good too. I also got some of the foundation, a couple of eyeshadow palettes (Kaleidoscope because I'm 44 and love bright colours too, and Enchantment) and the Nightshade eye stylo set, all for £20! Thanks for introducing me to this brand :D
And I totally agree about being better about my skincare when I do wear makeup, versus days I don't. I go on week long climbing/camping trips and I just don't do anything but spf.
I am a huge fan of MUA academy! I use their products all the time and I do think their products are better than some high end brands. Affordable makeup is absolutely killing the game! I was very kindly gifted the new lip balms and they are beautiful! I was very grateful as a small creator (under 2k followers on Instagram) I've still been gifted some beautiful products from amazing brands which gives me the encouragement to carry on. Drugstore makeup is my favourite but I do still like to try out some of the high end products. 🖤💜
I have acne prone skin, and unfortunately foundation, concealer, powder will give way to new blemishes. I have a great face cleansing system, full of double cleanse, toner, serums, moisturizers.. even a topical prescription i use to spot treat.. so in my experience i agree with letting my skin “breathe”. I love wearing makeup, and playing around with different formulas and techniques. I don’t wear it everyday though..it is hard to find the right base products, even “non comedogenic”…I’m not sure if Robert has or had that problem? I am definitely always on the hunt! And love watching your videos!! Just wanted to add my two cents.
Great video Robert. I paused during it and went on the MUA website and bought a load of products. Not a brand I've used so looking forward to getting my order. Also they have a discount this weekend 👍
Happy to hear your opinion on eye makeup for us older women. I have a drawer of beautiful Ben Nye makeup from my younger days as a stage dancer. Maybe I’ll break out some of those beautiful colors and shock my makeup free friends. They’ve made a point of bragging they no longer wear makeup, as though it’s a virtue. I find applying eye makeup so soothing and meditative, yet have not yet found a nice foundation that’s suitable for my 70 year old skin. I love my silver, white and grey streaky hair, but my skin is a fair olive and it’s hard to match. 🥴. I love your channel. ♥️
You look Gorgeous !!! I love you Robert you are very honest and super talented I e been a subscriber for quite some time and I’m hooked on watching and learning ! ❤❤❤❤ keep up the realness and awesomeness!!!!
I'm 60, and I love makeup and bold colors! I can wear brighter, bolder colors without them looking "crazy," but I love neutrals so much as well! Since the pandemic, I've been working from home, and plan to do so indefinitely. This has given me the opportunity to up my skincare routine, and my skin looks absolutely great, especially for my age! I don't wear makeup most days, but I do wear a nice serum and skincare creams; they can really make a difference! Women today don't look their age, but regardless, I think you should wear whatever makes you feel good and confident and happy! I really enjoy some of the makeup tutorials, like Robert's, with great ideas on products and eye shadow looks, etc., and that you can literally order anything you want online. I'm having a hard time with the "10-year-olds in Sephora" and recording TikTok videos at that age. I feel like they should be focusing on other things, like getting an education, socializing in person with friends and doing things "off line." I think this whole TikTok/Instagram culture is just crazy - it's too much, and I'm worried about them (as us as a society), going forward. I don't think this is healthy. Some amount of screentime, etc is fine - but like with anything else, excessive use and obsessive attention to one's appearance and the need for "likes" and "followers," and the excessive buying of cosmetics/skincare at such a very young age is just disturbing to me.
I’m in marketing, and here’s my hot take: Influencer marketing is the new word-of-mouth marketing. Before “influencing” became a career, we would ask our friend with nice skin what products she would use or read through magazine articles for what our pop idols were talking about. It’s not new-it’s just changed!
Congrats on the sponsorship! 🎊🎈 I definitely want to check out the website and products! They look so nice yet affordable 😊 I wish all “influencers” had your makeup knowledge. Some do and I like to watch them, but the technical knowledge as well as the creativity that you possess is priceless! When you said “like the makeup has just flirted with me” just sent me! Hahahahaaa 😂😂 I love how you phrase things sometimes! lol I do love to see you get excited over a new makeup product! You can tell it’s very genuine 😊 I’m loving the eye look! I like color. Sometimes I do a lighter nude eye but most of the time I like to use more color and I like a bit of shimmer on the lid. I’m in my 50s. I try not to over do it, but I do what I like. And my 14 year old granddaughter says my eye makeup always looks good 👍 she’s very creative and good at makeup so I trust her opinion. She would also say if it was too much🤷♀️ ooohhh I love the lip balms! The caramel glaze is so pretty! Really enjoyed this video 🎉 Have a great rest of your day! Hugs! 💜 🖤

@@ChrystalVanDusseldorp thank you so much 😀!!!
You go girl!
💯 agree!!
I stopped dying my hair two years ago (now 53) and not only is my hair healthier, but my hair line is filling in with new hair! I love my long grey hair and I’ve never felt more beautiful.
I felt seen. 36 and 2 years dye free and fully grey. I love it
I LOVE long grey hair!
I genuinely lol-ed :)
I agree totally about not giving money to brands that are against your own values esp cruelty etc xx
💯 agree
My mom is 57 and she loves glitter and color when doing her eye makeup and it looks absolutely fantastic 🩵
I still highlight my brow bone, and it makes me so happy when I see you do it too 🙂
I’ve been highlighting my brow bones since the mid 80s (I’m 50) and I’m not stopping ever 😂
I do it too. I learned makeup in the early 90s.
I always have and always will do this! I'm 41, and I just don't feel right without it.
It keeps your eyes from disappearing.
Brow bone and inner corners. I will never stop.
I’m nearing 50 and I’m loving the ColourPop Orchid You Not palette! Those purples make the green of my eyes really pop! ❤
I love that palette!

Aww are ppl saying they don't like your hair like this? I think it's adorable!
Trixie Mattel's new white and black liner gel pots are on point with the formula. Trixie is innovative and creative. Cheers!
Completely agree. What's especially refreshing about trixie or patrick star is that they can talk at length about their products and explain exactly why their product contains xyz ingredient. In the wider realm of celebrity brands, this is incredibly refreshing
Love Trixie and Kim's makeup. But there's nothing innovative about white liner, white liners been around a long time.
i really miss the revlon intenza pot gel eyeliner :c that stuff would look so matt, you would need an oily remover because nothing else would even scratch it, and the pot lasted forever. now there's literally zero gel liners in pot form aviable for me at a drugstore level were i live, no matter the store, they just don't exist or don't get imported.
Your hair sounds beautiful!! My hair is magenta and my husband's is bright blue. 💗💙💜
@@ChrystalVanDusseldorp thank you! It’s a mix of light and dark blue at the top and fades into purple at the bottom
I adore big bold makeup looks! I won't necessarily wear them out and about, but I love doing them for fun 😊
i'll wear them even if i'm just going to buy bread. and i've made a name for myself around my block lol, they used to talk me down because i would always do my own style disregarding the time of day, weather or anything else, but after years, now i'm the one who's "always ready" lol. it's both sad, because i have endured a lot of bullying, but it has some notes of heartwarming by the end.
Like the makeup just flirted with me 😂. What a perfect description
I will be 56 next month and wear bold colors, glitters and shimmers eyeshadows and get compliments all the time. Wear what makes you happy and dont let others dictate your happiness 😊
I agree with you that I am more diligent with my skincare when I wear makeup. And it usually makes my skin look better
What brands are you boycotting and why? I want to be more aware ❤
I’m a mature age I wear what I like I’m never going to give up my shimmer and glitter! ♥️

I love makeup, i can appreciate a compliment, but i can tell for example that people also are less likely to do so but rather stare at me as if they want to burn me when i do something more expressive lol. it's sad. like, how dare that woman do something other than "clean makeup" and "feature enhancing", they'll brand you as a clown or a hooker or wathever or just "looking for attention" (which in itself is already it's own can of worms in regards to how we objectify women)
i genuinly have no girlfriends who don't experience some level of social anxiety regarding their appearance, and if you talk to them you see the usual factors: negging boyfriends, family, school and societal pressures, past bulling, low self esteem, unrealistic standards all around them, etc, which is so sad to see, because they are all beautiful.

I work for Clinique, and they are starting to attempt to dip their toes in SOME modern things, concerning color (the quad palette in Going Steady is actually a very pigmented purple eyeshadow palette that took me by surprise)
I talked to my higher up a year or more ago and said we NEEDED to get with the times and make a liquid highlighter and she told me, basically, its not gonna happen. But this year we did it, a primer/hightlighter liquid that isnt half bad (but not super bright, still very natural 😂) and i am proud of us for that 😂
That;s great! As long as you don't discontinue Tenderheart lipstick, I've been wearing it since i was 14 (now 41). 😄
Iris is such a legend, icon, inspiration. The documentary on her was phenomenal
I’ve been going for a bolder cheek and I’ve been loving it.
I agree with you I am 61 and use the brightest blush Mac make. It just pops and gives me a lovely blush ❤

I get that people are annoyed with rich influencers getting free PR and products, but also business is business and they get paid to promote. It just kinda is how the industry works rn and of course brands are not going to give regular people free products...
I know it's common sense. I'm guessing you have to be very young not to understand that
@@mb-kh2nb Yea, it should be common sense, but I've seen sm people who think brands should send pr to their customers instead of influencers..
I don't think they "deserve it", but it's just simple business. No reason to get so upset about it.
I agree but I think it's on the influencer's responsability to either get off some pr lists if they don't like the product and give away as much as possible if they know they won't use/like. Just to keep the hoarding and expired products to a minimum

Thank you Robert😊
I love when you find something that you absolutely love something !!!! It’s the cutest lil chuckle ! 7:41
I love when you try a product you love .. example.. you reaction to the watermelon gloss so awesome. Your genuine love and reactions to a product you love 😘💘
I am also MUCH more scrupulous with my skincare when I am wearing makeup, so my skin is better when I am wearing it regularly.
As a woman of a certain age, the image I try to cultivate is Disney-Villain-on-her-day-off, which means comfortable clothes and a dramatic eye.
I love MUA! I’m so happy they are having their moment ☺️
I have gray hair and wrinkles and I look great!
The editing of Robert's videos and his sense of humour always makes me laugh. His videos are so good. 😂❤
I'm VERY PALE, cool olive tone (yes we exist, I am blue green) and I can't make full coverage lilsticks work. Always too orange or purple, no matter the shade. So I stick with sheer (or sheering out) lipstick or tinted lipbalm.
I’m a cool olive tone as well! Didn’t realize it was kinda rare. I have green eyes
@@CherrrrBear I have blue green eyes and medium red hair. I agree that it's rare and color theory has become my friend, lol.
I am a pale olive too! And I have such a hard time with makeup all around! It’s all too orange or too pink or too yellow.
Those Singe Beauty brushes are so nice and stand out from other brushes so well, I need to get those in my collection.
Why make it easy for them to be r@cist
I am with you on this. If you have been around since forever and now jumping on getting foundation for my color just now!? I am not not buying you. I miss Iman brand and a petty Black Opal faded away
Agreed. Money talks to these brands. No reason to support a brand that isn’t inclusive.
As someone who just turned 40, the only eyeshadows I wear are green, purple and black, occ a hint of pink. 😂😂 With Urban Decay glitter liner.
people talk about being fourty as if they are dead already, when really a fourty year old has 40 more years ahead of them. are you kidding me?
Illamasqua did an Amy Winehouse one, if it’s still available. Some of their stuff is DEEPLY discounted on LookFantastic at the moment

Okay, MUA Make Up Academy, I placed my order midway through the video yesterday morning and it has arrived and is in my hands less than 24hrs later - no expediated delivery costs, this is standard! 😮
I have a couple of the mini MUA pallettes, but the big one you used is gorgeous. And they're so affordable! ❤
I just browsed their website and I WISH they delivered to the US! I want to try so many things, and the prices are amazing!!
i tried 4 of the eye & lip liners of mua makeup academy and they are really good, also they are cruelty free :D
Also, wearing makeup everyday has the beneficial knock-on effect of MAKING you cleanse your skin properly and effectively... 😎👍🏽💜💜💜
The excitement I get when you upload is ridiculous! Hope you have had a nice weekend! Give the pups some love from me❤
your giggles are so cute!
Love Iris Apfel, btw...
4:36 Patrick Star’s One Size beauty is pretty good though! They’re blush trios are pretty innovative ❤
Hugs! 💜 🖤
I forgot about MUA! I'm glad you took this sponsorship so I have now been reintroduced to them ❤
Those balms are really pretty! I love an affordable luxury.
I’m loving tinted lip balms, my handbag is full of them.
You're gorgeous inside & out Robert ❤ love your look today 😊
