In defense of Greninja- Well I think greninja (as it is after the Kalos league) may not be able to defeat Gardevoir BUT it certainly CAN make a run for her money. Let me explain this, you have used alain's Charizard as a variable for comparing greninjas strength, so let me do the same. First of all, siebold is the *4th* elite four member (at least if we look by the games and things like this are always same for the anime as it is in the game) and it means he is the strongest amongst the four elite trainers so "OFFICIALLY" siebold is the SECOND strongest of Kalos after diantha. Now if we look at the mega evolutions special series, we can see that the alain vs siebold match took place quite early on in the series where he was newly given the mega stone by lysandre and from that point upto to the Kalos league, there is a good pasage of 4-5 months worth of time and considering he keeps challenging mega evolution trainers ALL THE TIME, he is most certainly MUCH stronger by Kalos league than during his match with siebold. Also we are shown that he took on 10 mega Pokemon in a ROW with getting rest in-between and THEN also defeated malva (another elite four) as the tenth even though Charizard is pretty weak by fighting the other 9 signifying he has grown much stronger than before. Now, coming back to greninja, he pretty much dealt enough damage to Charizard in the league that he struggled to stand at the end before greninja fainted, so at least it means greninja is stronger than an KALOS ELITE FOUR ACE, now coming to Gardevoir, half of it's attack are psychic type AND greninja is part dark type meaning it is COMPLETELY RESISTANT to psychic attacks, so diantha only really has dark pulse and moon blast to deal with greninja and none of them are super effective against it. So simple answer, greninja would most probably lose, like c'mon, ITS A CHAMPIONS POKEMON!! but he can certainly give a run for it's money and who knows, if ash Ketchum can pull off something with his usual ash Ketchum swag, he may even win.
Yes we still don't know the real power of ash greninja or bond evolution so we can't judge like that very easily who knows ash greninja can beat dianths gardeavior and Alan mega charizard x In a serious match you can't judge anyone in one seosan

I hate when Ash released some of his Pokemon, I don't know why would the japanese writers would do that because in my opinion they're made a huge mistake making Ash released his pokemon. In the very season he release his Butterfree and Pidgeot who he promise to come back for them someday but it never happen since then .
