Thanks for what you do Tanner. It was you that got me back into reptiles. I've always been into terrarium/vivarium builds. A rodent phobia i developed kept me from keeping reptiles for 20 years. Thanks to you and the people mentioned in this video was a big help on getting over it. Im currently getting the equipment together to keep snakes again.
Emily from Snake Discovery is the Miss Frizzle of the reptile world. I stumbled upon her when she had well under 50k and I was looking for someone to help my child not develop a fear of snakes. Wholesome really is the best way to describe Ed and Emily.
She also reminds me of Linda from Rio lol. Like I don’t know why Tulio and Linda remind me a lot of Emily and Eddy. Like Eddy has squawked at Cheyenne so you know 😂
Been watching Emily for years, there was going to be. Big problem if this was going to be mean about her and her husband. ❤️. Have learned so much from them!

Hey dude, thanks for being such a kind human. You reaching out to me made this whole talking to other RUclipsrs thing way less scary. I love your content and what you represent and bring to the community.
Hi dion sorry if I spelt it wrong when i was researching my red eyed crocodile skinks I would watch you a lot for those also I love your isopods thanks for everything you and wickens are my inspirations 👍🏼
Thank you for your kind words Adam! I'm so flattered and humbled that you'd put me on this list with such awesome reptile youtubers. Thank you so much!!
Well you and the animal abusers were the only ones I wasn't already subscribed to. thanks to this videos hopefully more ppl can find your channel cuz RUclips's crappy algorithm isn't helping much lol
Yea she is and her channel (in my opinion) is awesome and is one of the top channels who got me into reptiles and went looking for small skinks and geckos in my backyard.
Hey man, I love what you do, when you put out reptile videos, I watch every time. You're great for the community and it's a breath of fresh air having dudes like you around.
Snake Discovery has actually started to help curb my fear of snakes. I used to 100% hate Snakes but the more of Snake Discovery's videos I've watched, the less completely afraid I am. I mean, I might not be close to holding or touching a snake yet, but I love Snake Discovery for helping me start to appreciate snakes.
snake feel like a good quality leather purse but better depending on the species (some of them feel like satin!) ;3 I love my girl she a Kenya sand boa ^.^
Yup! Unless it was something abominable and unforgivable. But people evolve overtime, pretty sure there are awesome people that used to be annoying or not a good person to be around.
@@Dragonemperess Abdominal and Unforgivable varies to person... I still remember a group of people harassing a person over their fish dying because they lacked knowledge and was called abusive despite it was years ago.
@@bigburtha4147 I already apologized to wicken , I was having a bad day , I admitted I was wrong , I will find my original comment in this thread and delete it.
I was sooooo afraid you would have something bad to say about "Snake Discovery" since you saved them for near the end. They are the ones that got me over any reptile phobias. Them, "Clint's Reptiles" and "Reptiliatus" are some of my all time favorite people to watch on RUclips. Thanks for having good things to say about so many other channels. It is lovely that people in the reptile community are so supportive of each other.
Snake Discovery is one of my top 3 favourite YT channels and I don't even have reptiles. I do know a ton about them now thanks to them and Clint, that's for sure. lol Started watching before the viewer explosion and I agree, every sub is 100% earned.
Same!!! I'm not a reptile fan really, but Snake Discovery is rather local to me (I'm also in WI), so it's really cool to just learn about what's near-ish to me. I really just like their personalities - they got me through the pandemic.
The VS tube channel should literally not exist. The youtube guidelines clearly state that animal abuse and disturbing content is not allowed. “Dog fighting, cockfighting, or other videos in which human onlookers are forcing animals to attack each other. We do allow content featuring animals fighting in the wild, such as in a nature documentary.” Each video is an strike, and after receiving three strikes, the channel gets banned. They should literally not exist. Do better youtube.
@@smilygriffin1144 Many of those abuse channels are disguised as animal “rescue” channels or discovery, especially in places with more lenient abuse laws. É.g. - staged puppies in a pit being attacked by small reticulated python, marine animals pre-buried under sand and then “rediscovered” which do not burrow, etc.
@@brandonhalstein4755 I almost mentioned them. I *could* understand that because at face value they seem genuine. I still don't though, because people report them as fake and nothing is done. But for a good while there were also these channels that said "if you don't subscribe, i will kill this puppy", that i hope don't exist anymore and weren't banned at the time for some freaking reason!
I think Clint from Clint’s Reptiles is seriously one of the BEST RUclipsrs that has ever existed!! He is such a positive & energetic person & this really reflects in his reptile keeping.🙂🙂🐢
Amazing content aside, Snake Discovery is just the most wholesome amazing channel and people. Emily once apologized for insinuating something in a video that wasn't fully inclusive of trans people (that I a trans person didn't even notice) and Emily posted an apology letter after realizing and reading it made me cry because it was so accepting and loving from a completely non queer focused hobby!
@@rosedaisy3185 It was a video on how we can reduce our waste output. One of her suggestions was a menstrual cup, and she said women throughout the video. I watched the video and personally loved it and didn't think anything of it. Later she posted on the community tab apologizing for being uninclusive of trans men who may menstruate, and said she should have used a term other than 'women.' Just overall a super wholesome event and something I never would have expected even from an lgbt RUclipsr!
Ed and Emily have such great personalities and seem like fun people to be around. I’m hoping I get the chance to visit their zoo once covid is sorted out. I’m sure they are 100% supportive of the lgbtq+ community because of their pride shirts and etc.
I got so worried seeing Emily's face at first. It was actually my 6 year old daughter who found Snake discovery on RUclips back when she was about 4 and shown me and now we both watch their videos together. Being a naturally anxious child, Snake discovery helped my daughter come out of her shell as she wanted to teach other people about snakes. It's even helped with her fear of invertebrates. We have 2 turtles that we adopted and hopefully aiming to own a Snake in the near future 😊
I got so nervous seeing Emily's face too! They've gotten me into reptiles. I wasn't usually afraid of snakes, at least pet ones (I don't do well with wild ones...) But anyway. I'm happy for your daughter and your tutles!!
Same haha! I’ve been following them since they had under 100k, and I was so worried because I was thinking “wait, but they’ve been amazing for all these years??”. Glad to hear all good stuff!!
I'm happy that everything about the story is happy and stuff but the idea that a 4 year old was roaming on RUclips unsupervised terrifies me. Especially 2 years ago or earlier when RUclips didn't handle most of stuff uploaded by child groomers yet
This is so wholesome. As a woman who was also a snake baby, can I ask you to tell her she's awesome for telling people how wonderful snakes can be? Keep up the positivity when it comes to some of the more misunderstood of creatures out there! ♡
I found Snake Discovery after my sister recommended it. We are NOT reptile people but she described to to me in the best way “it’s like when you are in elementary school and the snake person comes and let you hold a snake and does an assembly.” It truly is the same kind of excitement!
If I'm remembering correctly Emily was actually one of those people that took some of her reptiles to places to educate people before the covid stuff. She even brings up every now and then how certain snakes were the ones she took to these programs. So your sisters description was dead on.
Buying reptiles responsibly is important, if you cant care for them properly don't buy them! :) I only have 1 little tortoise when I really want them all haha
If I am having a bad day, I go straight for her interacting with the babies. And the garter snakes especially. I have a friend that gets all excited like that over the things she loves too. How can you not find joy in those videos. PS please send garter snakes :D
Snake Discovery is by far one of my top favorites. They are the ones who really got me into reptiles and made me comfortable enough to get my own snake. (His name is Desmond and he is a 5'7'' California King snake. He is a 10 year old rescue/adoption)
this video has been popping up on my suggestions for weeks and i just watched it. i saw Emily's face and was a bit worried about what you'd say. however, i'm very happy you see her and Ed the way many of us do. they are such great people and treat their animals amazingly. as you said, each subscriber has been rightfully earned. also, thank you for educating me on some other channels and giving me new reptile channels to enjoy! you also gained a sub from me☺️
Snake Discovery is not only fun to watch, but it's an amazing resource for young and old alike. I love Emily and Ed, and, not gonna lie, I actually teared up when you said they were your favorite. I agree - they work their asses off and they deserve all success.
they are the first channel I found out about when I started randomly watching reptiles out if nowhere used to be hella scared of snakes since I was like 5/6 years old beacuse one time I was playing on a river a snake jumped out a Rock and stayed up in a striking position .. it scared me so much I never wanted to see snakes xD but after seeing how cute they are ud honestly keep one now .
I have never owned a reptile/snake and I probably never will but I started watching Snake Discovery last year and I am h o o k e d. They have infectious personalities 😍
snake discovery is the account that got me into snakes in the first place. (: i never even thought about wanting snakes until i saw an egg cutting videos of hers. three snakes and two leapord geckos later...
Snake Discovery is why I started keeping reptiles. I recommend them to EVERYONE. Super educational and even my kids can understand the information being given.
I havent watched the video yet and i have a feeling your talking about blue tongue skinks. I have one and he is the chukiest potato snake and hes on a diet. Hes not overweight anymore but he could lose a couple grams before ee deem him at a peoper weight
Thanks for the love man! The videos that bring all of us on here together is what I love to see. If I was done YT tomorrow, definitely would not regret doing it being that I got to make friends like you through the platform. Happy that you have achieved all this success.
Clint's Reptiles, Chandler's Wild Life, GoHerping, and Snake Discovery are all really fun imo. I'm subbed to Clint and Chandler but even then I don't catch every video they put out. Regardless, the energy from all these creators is awesome. Everyone is very positive which I've learned is kinda a requirement to work around animals but even so, that positivity never feels forced which is great.
I’m really glad you gave Chandler positive feedback. He’s very respectful and educational as well as Kevin. And also I’m glad you didn’t give the first guy who I won’t mention any more time than they deserve.
When I was really young I started watching snake discovery and I've been watching ever since it's always stuck with me and finally I got my first snake :D I'm so happy it's on this list
Love Snake Discovery! My child absolutely loves it and now has me watching it. Never thought I would be in a reptile hobby, but thanks to my husband and my daughter. I now watch reptile channels regularly lol Thanks for listing some I’ve not enjoyed yet!
@@WickensWickedReptiles embrace baldness! I've been shaving my head every day or 2 for almost 10 years. I WISH my hair would disappear as I have no intentions of growing it back and I spend a small fortune on razor blades.
Thank you! I did not even realise you could 'report' horrible vids. Loved your list, so many new people to watch :) (and kudos on the hairstyle ...looking good!)
You are entirely too kind sir. A very well put together video as always! Really can't wait to do a collab in person so you can help me with my comedic timing 😎
Clint is the perfect foil to a lot of the "legends" in the reptile community. He has the formal education as a backing, which is rare amongst a lot of the really prominent names you hear
Late to the video, but I gotta say I agree 100% about Snake Discovery. I adore Emily and Ed. The love they have for all of their critters, and the care they show them, is just phenomenal. Everything I've learned about caring for my snakes, I learned from their channel. I'm so happy for them to be moving up in the reptile world with their facility to help spread education and awareness Just awesome!
I personally love snake discovery because of the cheerful nature they have along with being good informal snake advisors on how to take care, feeding them and giving them medication. Along with you WWR your channel is awesome too, definitely like your informative videos too and explaining them.
This is such a fun and positive video. We all share this wonderful hobby and should raise each other up instead of tearing each other down. Your channel, Ants Canada, and Clint have taught and shown me so many invaluable things which have benefited both me and my reptiles.
Really happy about your reviews of GoHerping and Snake Discovery. Very different channels, but I can't choose a favorite between them. While Emily and Ed are through and through wholesome, Alex is snarky with a wicked sense of humour - while being educational. Both have an important impact because their styles cater to different viewers. They compliment eachother.
So glad you were cool with Clint, Chandler and Dav! They all bring something so different to the hobby and are so passionate. Completely agree with Serpadesign too! His patience is incredible. Brian Kusko is so lovely, I love the way he interacts with his kids and involves them too! Kamp kenan is super cool! I'd love to visit his place. Goherping is such a good entrepreneur. I got so nervous when you hadn't mentioned SD and said you weren't looking forward to it.
@AethernalVoid same!i loved his content and watched so many of his vids... i tried to watch the video but all the justifying and defending he was doing just really upset me. i was hoping a person who seemed so dedicated to animal welfare and husbandry would be on the ethical side of the controversy 😔
My top two favorite reptile influencers are Clint and you. I love how much information I can get from both channels without having to spend hours trying to research a bunch of stuff. I’ve been watching both channels for over a year and I still don’t have a reptile. That’s how good I think you are. Keep up the good work
I don’t have snakes, nor would I ever have any venomous snakes- but I love Chandler’s Wildlife! Such a genuine guy, who LOVES his animals and always teaches us to respect them above all else. A superb channel!
I’m late to this but I literally held my breath when you announced your fav and worst channel. Snake Discovery is such a blessing. Ty for you video, sir!!
I was so scared that snake discovery was gonna be the last one I was biting my tongue waiting for you to say it I took a huge sigh of relief when you said it before the last
another underrated channel is elle's reptiles! she's from alabama and she has a lot of good info on how she has cared for different species, and insight on interactions between reptiles and kids
Kenan is honestly the dude who made me get into reptiles. When he saw his house he was like "Sure there is a house... BUT LOOK AT THIS LAKE AND HOW MANY TURTLES I COULD FIT IN HERE". Also I think the reason Chandler handles animals the way he does is he literally grew up with dangerous reptiles. He also treats animals he doesn't know as well differently. How he first handled his black mamba is much different than how he handles his cobras which he knows their movements well.
Brian has honestly come a long way, in a good way. He really inspired me to get into reptiles. Like you said, 10 years ago people did things differently. Obviously, people didn't know what they do now. The hobby in general has grown in knowledge exponentially. But I do feel Brian did his best with the knowledge he had, and continues to improve over the years.
I always felt bad that I liked him because of all the hate he was geting. I was afraid to tell people I genuinely enjoyed his content most of the time. Sure things struck me a little uncomfortably sometimes, but for the most part, I thought his heart was in the right place. I just was never sure if I actually felt that way or if the fact that he kinda looks like my dad skewed my opinion lol. Either way, I'm happy that someone with proper reptile knowledge is saying some of the things I felt in the past.
@@benitezwildlife4338 I honestly don't know anything other than some of the ways he handles his animals, and how he houses his snakes. I saw a bit of complaint about his using the rack system. Oh and how he opened his snake eggs and messed with them before they were hatching themselves really rubbed people the wrong way. Those were what made me uncomfortable, but I was able to kind of brush it off by telling myself that he knows way better what he is doing than I. I would never do the things he does but it's why I'm not a breeder. There were also people complaining about his way of housing his bigger pets. I remember it had to do with his big snakes and a crocodillian.
Love your channel Adam and I throughly appreciate you rating these other channels and sharing with your audience, the people and channels that inspire you so that we can learn and grow together. I watch your content daily. You’ve taught me so much! Thanks again for being awesome!
me: lets see what this man has to say about snake discovery... *finger gun while waiting for emily* him: *says good things about snake discovery* me: mhm. that's what i thought bucko *puts finger gun away* :)
People in these comments are crazy.. You're crazy af... How could anyone think for a second that Adam would say anything bad about SD.. Like Emily and ed are awesome and everyone should know enough about Adam to at least know he wouldn't have a single had thing to say about Emily and Ed.. Y'all had doubt in your heart and it's just sad that you would even think that way.
I’m terrified of reptiles, I got bit by a snake as a really little kid and since I literally shake when I see a snake in a cage. I’ve been watching your channel in an attempt to start over coming my fear and it’s really helped a lot. You’re very educated and well spoken and even though I’m not the biggest reptile lover, I really appreciated he knowledge you spread for others about proper animal care
What's wrong with Jay!! He's very energetic seems to have a great personality and seems to take very good care of his animals! You said you have respect for Kenan and he and Jay are pretty tight!
Same here, esp. since if he is who I think he is, he's local (relatively) to me although I've been to Prehistoric Pets maybe once. I'd definitely be interested in knowing if his Prehistoric Pets is worth visiting since that's the only dedicated reptile zoo near me and I live way too far to conveniently drive to other to Clint's, Emily's, or Brian's facilities.
You started getting towards the end, where you were going to “rip off the bandage” and you hadn’t mentioned Snake Discovery. I was getting nervous, but then you saved it saying it was your favorite channel!
Clint's reptiles, Dave Kaufman and Go herping are such a huge inspiration for me, Leopard gecko is so knowledgeable on leos, Serpa is Arceus-tier, and Animals at Home is a great guy completely underrated his podcasts are top notch when it comes to real issues/concerns/tips/advice within the community. Snake discovery is incredible. Great video, love your channel as well:D
Thank you for informing us about "VS Tube". You are an AWESOME advocate for our beloved animal friends! Also, thanks to your educational platform, I'm now very interested in creating a comfortable living environment in my apartment ... for a couple of Schneider Skinks!
The title makes it seem like you have negative views on a lot of the RUclipsrs but there were like 3 that you had negative views for. I have only seen two or three of the RUclipsrs myself and this is a great resource for others wishing to get into the hobby. Thank you.
I was terrified how close we were getting to your least favorite, and snake discovery hadn't been mentioned yet😓 completely agree with your choice of last place😒
I'm not new to loving these animals but new to owning them. I got my first snake, a baby Brazilian Rainbow Boa, last week. She had her first feeding Saturday and I can't wait to go home and start working on handling with her! I always knew I wanted to do this as a hobby but time, space, and money always held me back. Now I have all three and am excited to continue! I think I am gonna wait until Iris is full grown before I get another snake but I might get a Blue Tongued Skink in between then. I know for sure I want a Hog Nose and Black Mexican Kingsnake eventually as my next snakes. ANYWAYS, I love your channel man! Admittedly I discovered you, Clint, Snake Discovery, and Reptile Garden after I knew for sure I was gonna buy a snake but I have been watching Chandler since 2017 or 2018. You guys have been a tremendous help and I am greatful for the advice you all give especially regarding BRBs considering I got a pretty intermediate level snake as a new owner haha. Keep doing what you are doing!
Also love how go herping has a rehoming service !!! I feel like there aren’t many of those services available and it makes me feel very secure about owning reptiles if the worst happened and I had to rehome
As a person who has never been interested in reptiles and has no plans to ever own any reptiles Snake Discovery is one of my absolute favorite channels on RUclips. That says a lot about Emily and Ed. They’re the best! 🐍💚
I love 20 minutes away from NERDS! I’ve been going there since I was young. I love the facility and the work Kevin does for the community and wildlife conservation for NE. The staff are super chill and they really push for bio tanks which is hella cool. I got two of my ball pythons from them. Beautiful morphs and excellent feeders 🐍🐍💖💖 Love you Kevin 💖

I love hearing support for other creators like this! Good vibes! I don't agree with everything everyone does on these channels, but the whole of what they're bringing to the hobby is positive. Except of course for the animal abusers. They can rot.

It took me over 2 years to be ready to *maybe* hold a snake. When I finally did, it was Snake Discovery's videos that gave me the confidence.

Well deserved! Love your vids!
Wow leopard gecko I just got a baby leopard last week on my birthday I love your videos keap being awesome
It is lovely that people in the reptile community are so supportive of each other.
they are all so great
Me too! I know some people don’t like snake discovery but I think they are very good people and I love what they are doing for their reptiles
My heart dropped when he said he only had two left and one was awful. I was so worried it was going to be snake discovery.
Do better youtube.
youtuber: *swears*
youtube: WHAT DID YOU JUST DO?? HOW DARE YOU!! BANNED!
this channel: *exists*
youtube: I sleep
So many animal abuse channels slip through the cracks somehow
@@smilygriffin1144 Many of those abuse channels are disguised as animal “rescue” channels or discovery, especially in places with more lenient abuse laws. É.g. - staged puppies in a pit being attacked by small reticulated python, marine animals pre-buried under sand and then “rediscovered” which do not burrow, etc.
@@brandonhalstein4755 I almost mentioned them. I *could* understand that because at face value they seem genuine. I still don't though, because people report them as fake and nothing is done.
But for a good while there were also these channels that said "if you don't subscribe, i will kill this puppy", that i hope don't exist anymore and weren't banned at the time for some freaking reason!
another bad one is the "MADSCIENCE" channels
I think Clint from Clint’s Reptiles is seriously one of the BEST RUclipsrs that has ever existed!! He is such a positive & energetic person & this really reflects in his reptile keeping.🙂🙂🐢
Amazing content aside, Snake Discovery is just the most wholesome amazing channel and people. Emily once apologized for insinuating something in a video that wasn't fully inclusive of trans people (that I a trans person didn't even notice) and Emily posted an apology letter after realizing and reading it made me cry because it was so accepting and loving from a completely non queer focused hobby!
Both Ed and Emily are such genuinely lovely and loving people ♥️
Have you seen her pride shirts?
What was it about?
@@rosedaisy3185 It was a video on how we can reduce our waste output. One of her suggestions was a menstrual cup, and she said women throughout the video. I watched the video and personally loved it and didn't think anything of it. Later she posted on the community tab apologizing for being uninclusive of trans men who may menstruate, and said she should have used a term other than 'women.'
Just overall a super wholesome event and something I never would have expected even from an lgbt RUclipsr!
Ed and Emily have such great personalities and seem like fun people to be around. I’m hoping I get the chance to visit their zoo once covid is sorted out. I’m sure they are 100% supportive of the lgbtq+ community because of their pride shirts and etc.
I LOVE Snake Discovery. Emily and Ed are two wholesome and honest people just out here doing what they love.
they are great
Him thinking:ha just more compintish
My daughter and I love them. We watch their videos every morning before school.
Right? I was worried this was going to be a bash fest
You know you're deep in the herping rabbit hole when you don't own any reptiles but you're familiar with all the channels mentioned here

But I do feel Brian did his best with the knowledge he had, and continues to improve over the years.
well said

Sure things struck me a little uncomfortably sometimes, but for the most part, I thought his heart was in the right place. I just was never sure if I actually felt that way or if the fact that he kinda looks like my dad skewed my opinion lol. Either way, I'm happy that someone with proper reptile knowledge is saying some of the things I felt in the past.
@@paranoiarpincess what did brain do before that he got hate for idk much about him since I didn't really watch alot of him
@@benitezwildlife4338 I honestly don't know anything other than some of the ways he handles his animals, and how he houses his snakes.
Serpa is SOOOO incredibly talented. I love his scapes. And Clint is fantastic. Great video and feedback. Fun to hear an "insiders" perspective!
Couldn't agree more! They are great!
Thank you.
I was terrified how close we were getting to your least favorite, and snake discovery hadn't been mentioned yet😓
completely agree with your choice of last place😒
Same.
“Satan in a sausage form” I can’t 😂
OMG same!!!
Sorry to say it but snake discovery doesn’t give Rex privacy or space and doesn’t care about their animals
*Waits to see if he says anything bad about Snake Discovery*
Guy: *Says Snake Discovery is awesome*
Me:That's what I thought!
Damn strait🤍😂
Ive been subscribed to snake discovery for 2 years
I only just found that channel in the last hour. Love what I saw.
Same
You sound like you were about to throw hands😂
I love 20 minutes away from NERDS! I’ve been going there since I was young. I love the facility and the work Kevin does for the community and wildlife conservation for NE. The staff are super chill and they really push for bio tanks which is hella cool. I got two of my ball pythons from them. Beautiful morphs and excellent feeders 🐍🐍💖💖 Love you Kevin 💖
So cool!
This video is just one of the many reasons i love this channel! Not only is your content great, but your willingness to spread positivity to other creators is an inspiration. You are informative and wholesome. What an amazing video!!
I love hearing support for other creators like this! Good vibes! I don't agree with everything everyone does on these channels, but the whole of what they're bringing to the hobby is positive. Except of course for the animal abusers. They can rot.
they can rot indeed!
Started clapping you when got the Serpa Design. Dudes amazing. Your list was dead on for who i knew, and i saw a few i hadnt heard of yet.
I hope it helped :)
I literally had a mini heart attack when I saw Emily (Snake Discovery) in the thumbnail and was worried about what your thoughts were- I'm so happy that you agree that she's the best. The way she and Ed talk to their reptiles adds years to my life
