    Back when one day matches used to absolutely thrilling. Proper battles between batsmen and bowlers were more frequent. I love T-20s and the thrill big scoring games bring for crowds, but matches battled out in the 90s and early 2000's were just something else. Hope we would get to see more matches like these, which made us all fall in love with this magnificent game 😄

      Shivian124 mid off and mid on usually have bigger boundaries ...not sure about today’s t20 arena but I believe in 2004 that was more than 85 meter boundary for sure..lee is certainly capable of hitting sixes but if that ball was a inch fuller than m sure lee would have failed to connect that one

    I think it was an era of classic cricket. To be honest, aussies during that time were unbeatable in test format for many years. That particular talented team trimmed out the word "by chance" from cricket owing to their consistent performance for almost a decade. Only goofies can compare the standards n class of that particular team with today's cricketing standards/players. It was an awesome talent, aggression, passion, skill n consistency from these players who ruled the cricketing world for very long time. Neither from Pakistan nor from other countries players yet has reached their standards. Love quality cricket.... From Pakistan..

    I was there in the lower dally messenger stand. The ball lee hit for six headed straight in our direction. Fantastic game to watch live. Loved every minute and loved seeing the last few overs.

This match should have been a sitter , same situation Brett Lee bowling Balaji batting only 3 Runs to win even u give 6 Balls I bet u will see a huge fight back from Lee !!!! That's what made other India bowlers much superior Than him !!!

      @Tiger kumar After that Pakistan tour he was smashed badly by Pak batsman from Banglore test and ODIs also he was getting bashed he must have contained but all of his balls were smashed by Afridi !! And guess he was selected in Srilankan tour during 2008 there also he was getting hammered from Jayasurya guess that was his last match until he played 2012 T20 we should have won easily but his over made RSA inch very closer to the target we couldn't qualify for the next round due to Run Rate !!!

      He is a slow guy, in general. Slow throw, slow body movements, slow running, slow strike rate, slow bowling. Maybe he is slow mentally also. But he was a decent player, the guy only needed a little more life and happiness in him, then maybe he could have had a proper career.

    Vividly remember every single moment of this heartbreaking match! Used to study in 6th standard then. Spent the entire next day in school discussing on this match, disappointed by Balaji but at the same time very proud of the Dada led side presenting such a tough challenge to the most formidable Aussie team.

    Vividly remember the agony post this game. Was secretly listening to the commentary on a radio transistor in the middle of classroom hiding from the teacher. That six from Brett Lee broke every boy’s heart in that classroom that afternoon.

    I heard commentary of entire match, I was in office, while returning to home, I watched last 3 overs on a pan stall (small store roadside, where and tobacco is sold) never forget that day.

    Surprisingly I remember this match. Was going for my Chemistry tution. But this end ruined the whole night. Was cursing balaji throughout the coaching time. Couldn't focus at all what the teacher was teaching. I can almost feel the same pain remembering that moment....

    This actually reminds me of an Australian versus India T20 match last year where Cummins and Jhye Richardson had to get more of the last over, and one on last ball in India and no one is ever gonna talk about that match and still this is an awesome moment for the record.

    Still remember this match. Bunked my school on that to watch the match. And guess what.. heart break and tears for me at the end. As soon as Lee puts that one into stands. I started crying So badly that I couldn't go to the school for next day too. Those were the great cricket memories of a 90's kid. And wow the players at that time of Australia's team are almost unbeatable in any situations. Miss those golden days of cricket. No ipl no T20 even watching test cricket for continuous 5days was so exciting. If any 90's kid could finds similar memories as me. Then give me a like 👍
