I miss going to train shows. I never really picked up the hobby from my dad. I used to wire the layout and run the trains at least once a week. But once I moved out and got married, I never got back into it. But seeing all these locos and rolling stock on the tables take me back. I remember him picking up the Lifesavers and Tootsie Roll Tank cars at a show and being the pride of his collection for a few years. He really got into Post War F Units for a while as well, picking up the Texas Special and NYC units.
Great video buddy it was nice to meet you and your wife and I hope you guys had a safe trip home I left Saturday around 2:00 drove through the night and got home Sunday morning about 3:00 a.m.
I always take a transformer and track with me for hotel running after the show. I found my smoking Marx 333 at the Blue Hall last Fall. Thanks for the video!
Another great film...very unique perspective especially in the Choo Choo Barn. While in the halls maybe you could video the merchandise a little closer. Thank You Steve for your hard work ! 👍
Most of their other videos are in the halls that are dealer "aka sells trains for a living" halls, and those typically are going to be selling new stuff as they are the source for new. This shows mostly the member halls, which is going to be 60% post war typically.
I couldn’t believe after walking through how low the people and vendors were. It’s alarming that since going for 30 years and then my dad going since early 1970s just how bad it’s gotten. I still love the show but man it scares me
Never been there would like 2 go 1 of these years lol surprised on how huge those halls or buildings are lots and lots of trains and train related items 4 sale I'd think I died and went 2 heaven if I was there lol
Peachy, I know, Eric, I know, Sid, I know, but you other 3 i dont think I've seen your videos. Kindly introduce yourselves so I can go watch your videos... if you're on RUclips? 😃
Unfortunately this video really shows that the hobby has died all that's in the video are baby bomer generation until you get the generation x r generation z groups involved I was born in 1975 my generation never cared for trains most people from 1980 an so on
Its more "people under the age of 40 are going to buy their stuff online and don't go to meets" its one of the reasons the manufacturers have pulled out of going to York, their demographic for new product is not your average TCA member who wants postwar stuff only and scoffs at "those foreign made trains that break all the time".

Thanks for doing such an outstanding job on covering the York Train Show.

Thank you for sharing the blue hall with us. I like the blue better than the Orange hall.
i really miss the owner of the Choo Choo barn, i loved Tom Groff.
So nice to see a video with a lot of pre and post war equipment .Every other one that is posted is nothing but current stuff .

Thank you and I love the choo choo barn
Great video but it does not look as crowded like pre covid days ☹️
Thursday was quite full, I went over to Silver hall and noped right out of there after about 2 minutes and went back later in the day.
