It´s a beautiful ride from Gracias to Yojoa Lake, I was in La Esperanza too and it´s a lovely place, I remember a lot of things like los "choros" an edible mushroom, La Gruta, the people and much more. I didn't know anything about San Juan Intibucá, I would like to go soon. Thank you, Tammy, I love your videos.

That little town "Las Espenraza" and the beautiful Sofia were so delicious to watch. There is always the first time ... volunteer at 17 in an unknown place and trust that this place will be perfect for you, will certainly have opened the doors to explore and discover even more! So rich as experience. It also happened to my daughter who one day left for the first time to discover the world ... She never came back home, because she fell in love on the road 🥰

You're a special girl yourself! The way the little girl Sofia was drawn to you exemplifies your precious aura. Your story of how you took charge and left home for the unknown in foreign lands right out of high school also exemplifies your quest for meaning and new experiences. Yet you keep your roots squarely in mind as exemplified by the photo montage you keep in view in the map window of your tank bag. And there's no false facade that I can detect, that's the real you, and I find that heartwarming. Happy and practical...
Be cautious about leaving your bike though. Have someone vigilando. Drop em a couple bucks when you come back and all's well. Countless people have been too trusting and have had things come up missing. Remember, anything left unguarded is free game, that's just baked into the culture.

Usually how it works that I've witnessed is usually some guy milling about the parking area, driver asks si están vigilando, le avisan cuanto tiempo más o menos hasta que regresen, y que nos vemos entonces. Al regreso lo buscan y al encontrar todo bien le den un par de dólares en suelto según la cantidad de tiempo que demoraron. I've never seen it fail but of course there's no guarantee the guy you approach isn't some theif who'd clean you out knowing how long you'd be away so go with your gut, maybe hang out a bit and see if others seem to be trusting him to watch. The people who are used to it know what to watch for, maybe check with someone you see parking and ask if they know whether someone is watching and who they are. Of course no matter what, carry your most important valuables with you, especially your critical documentation.
I'm happy to count you among the few mototravelers I follow. Being the most recent addition (when you entered El Salvador) I had to get a feel for your general persona. Over the episodes I've found you thoughtful, kind, caring, humble - not pretentious, open and willing, fun but not crazy, and you seem to have a handle on what's important and what's not. Your look, your vibe, your words, it just seems to mesh with what I think is important, anyway, best I can tell. Health and happiness are paramount to all activities and accomplishments that give us purpose and meaning. And you have to take care of yourself to be able to do anything for others.
I didn't get to your blog last night but I'll say this, burnout is to be expected. That's why we have to change it up every now and then. Do something different. Me, I have a multitude of projects in the works - if I'm getting to feeling bogged on something, I'll move to something else. I don't care if I'm criticized for not sticking with one thing till it's completely done before tackling something else. I've done a lot and have nothing to prove, I just need to keep my excitement for life. It'll be interesting to see how you choose to deal with the feeling of monotony, or burnout. How you choose to switch gears and sidetrack into something different and exciting, which ultimately puts new excitement into your grand voyage. Hopefully you'll share the parts that you can. We all need ideas and dreams beyond that which is concrete. Cautiously optimistically go for it as your personality would suggest!

08:48 an interesting fact about them kids asking for change. They actually dig them potholes themselves and later fill them up so that they can ask for money pretending that they’re fixing the roads. They do it in Guatemala as well!
