By far the best video I've seen on the subject not just thorough, informative, indepth, personable, relatable but most importantly easy to listen to, a genuine person with a talent to teach. Learned a lot more than just about the add-a-battery kit, thank you!
Wow!! Thanks for the nice words! Glad you enjoyed it and hope it helped. Note the Red dot by my name. It's my new channel. The channel with the blue dot has been taken over and held for ransom. Won't pay. So check out the vids in the RED channel. Take care.

Blue sea should pay you for this. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Best one out there on the Blue Sea.

Great video I like the idea of building a trough but what I found out using the ears I learned that if you have someone give a little rev as you push the cups towards each other while engine is throttled they stay in place and water is sucked in then you release the cups and it works
Hey, glad you liked the video. I might give that thing with the ears a try. I am in the process of selling my pontoon boat. I am just too old to take proper care of it. I really hate selling it but such is life. If you know anyone who is interested in a tritoon with less than 50 hours and a ton of extras please let me know !! Good luck with your project.
Great! Super glad it helped. Pls check out the vids under the RED dot as the ones under the blue dot have been hijacked and held for ransom. Thanks again..

Hello Old Shooter . I have on my boat a similar set up than yours a house battery and a starter battery both acid . Where do you think I should connect the 120 A fuse ?
@jutec6254 Are you using BS separator? If so, it (the fuse) is separated at the battery If not, I would think within 12 inches of battery. If you are installing the BS system, I would advise calling their reps. They provide a fantastic support service.

@jeffdavis2026 I checked with Blue Seas and it wouldn't hurt anything, it was about $25 cheaper and I liked the components better...especially the ACR.
@@theoldshooter9011 Ok Thanks For The Reply I was curious if getting the larger amperage ACR would hurt anything . I run a Mercury 250 Optimax puts out 60-65 amps.
Hey how are you quick question on the yellow paper that has the diagram it shows that a fuse should be install on every positive wire going from acr to the battery but i saw that you dont have fuses on every positive cable so do i really need the fuses on every positive wire
Check real close again. The positive cable to the helm that came with the boat does have a fuse. Might have missed it on the diagram but do point it out when going over cables. Each pos cable from the bettery. To the ACR also has a fuse. Blue Seas will really push the fuse to the ACR but reality is few use it.
My question is this. I'm going to install the same setup in my center console and have a Suzuki DF175. I believe you have the DF150 on the pontoon boat. When you wired the switch, did you attach the Suzuki white wire to the switch? I don't see it attached to the starter battery terminal. Next question: I have a separate alternator wire coming from the Suzuki and bringing it to a 30AMP fuse in the console. Did you leave your alternator wire on the switch?
Hey thanks for watching. I decided not to mess with the ignition key switch. The reason is I would have probably caused more damage than good. My switch had the wires "hard jelled" in and the potential for me to induce problems and damage was way too high. While you can go into the starter switch, I do not know anyone that did so. When I talked to the BS reps they indicated if I didn't do it the would be no damage. I ran it that way for 3 years and ha no problems.
Sorry Kevin, I had written like 3X a much a response but when I went in to post it i noticed a bunch of incorrect auto corrects and it lost like 2/3 of what I had written. Bottom line, if you mean starter switch, I did nothing to the wires of the starter switch. If you are talking the BS switch, ALL engine wires went on the Engine lug that came from the engine. I would highly recommend calling Blue Seas and talk with Kevin or another rep as they are really good and will take whatever time it takes to answer your questions. THEY are certainly the experts. Again thanks for watching the whole vid and please let me know what you did.
Good morning again from Greece. I would like to ask you a question. I have BLUE SEA SI-ACR 120 A, I can have two batteries with different AH. 100 AH & 80 AH. And secondly they can be 100 AH and 100 AH.Because I was told by the store where I bought it that the batteries should not be more than 60 AH left + 60 AH right Is this true or can I put two 100 AH . Good seas
@semzak Greetings. I am afraid that question is above my pay grade. If you can, call their techs at 800. 222. 7617, or, email them at Tech.bluesea@OneASG.com. I would hate to give you some bad information and damage your system.
Plan on installing this on my pontoon this fall or next spring. Am I to assume the negative buss bar gets grounded back to the engine via its negative cable? Thanks for the great video, very informative!!
@deanm5325 Hey thanks. I put EVERY negative cable on the bus bar hence the "title" negative bus bar. Bus bars can be negative or positive, they cannot be a combination of both. Sorry if you know that, I just want to be sure. But like I said, I put EVERY negative cable on that bus bar. As I stated in the video, you will probably not have a single terminal for each negative wire or cable so you may have to stack a couple like I did. Check out the wiring diagram. I did have one negative cable that was red because I could not find a cable that was black , long enough , and the correct size. That's why one red cable I put black tape on the connecting end about a foot up You will probably not have that situation because that was MY cable going to the 12 VDC fuse box I put under the helm. Take care....tag your cables and make a wiring diagram!!
Hi thanks for your video it made my life easy when hooking up my add a batteri kit how ever i have a question after hooking up everything the way is supposed to be when i turn the add a battery switch to off position i still get power when i push the trim switch is this normal
Hate to say this but then it's not hooked correctly. Find the engine wire or cable and hook to engine plug on switch. I've never seen two but you may have two wires from the engine. One for starting and one for trim. If so then both would go to engine lug on switch. Pls keep me informed on what happened. But for sure if hooked correctly trim should not work if switch is OFF. @user-mi2sp8dc6p I went to Blue Seas website and got them there. As I pointed out, few actually use them. I did on my big tritoon pontoon but I don't on my 16ft john boat. @semzak Both were Duracell lead acid. Don't mix types as it confuses the relay. Stay all lead acid....or AGM or whatever.
