As someone who has 100% Re:Com on the PS4 before and remembers the tens of hours spent of just leveling Riku, why would you do this to yourself? Just why?

My thought exactly, the Rikku grind was what really kills this game. Why does he need the same amount of EXP as Sora when his story is so much shorter!
@@azure018 AND NOT EVEN JUST THAT why does he need the same amount of exp when he has no way of mass clearing waves for easy grinding.
I've done it on ps3, ps4 and Xbox and I agree with this wholeheartedly. I was like "oh man I'd hate to do that"

I always love using lethal frame against marluxia. Something about freezing time over and over as he helplessly just gets fucked with the keyblade is a huge power trip
Definitely a top 3 favorite sleight to use at any point for me, along with Raging Storm and Holy. Shoutout to Firaga Burst for also being pretty fun (and useful for Marluxia's 2nd form)
Casually I actually found riku's story easier than sora's. Since riku's cards are preselected I always knew my deck was good enough to win with. With Sora, I was always wondering if I was building my deck wrong

I personally always have trouble with Riku's wonderland. His card numbers there are so pathetically low.
in the GBA version, Riku Twilight Town deck is just a bit too small and low to deal with Vexens second fight without overusing Sleights, but doing that also leaves you with almost no cards to finish the fight quickly. it was probably the only time i was ready to rage quit when playing.

True, but if you abuse sleights, sora just becomes spam triangle to win.
This run was great fun to watch live, learned lots about the game. Though the lvl 99 grinds didn't have to be a part of the plat, lol. Someone at Square was feeling a bit too mischievous
The deck editor and room builder trophies are also pretty pointless grinds. Honestly, those trophies kind of summarize my feelings about CoM in general; there's a kernel of a good game in there, but it's buried under so much tedium and irritation that I can't bring myself to like it.
It's telling that DDD made the Lv 99 trophy additive, like Sora + Riku's levels can add up to 99 for the trophy to be possible.

Dude I can't imagine sitting down for over 20 hours to 100% a game in one sitting. Much less doing it for Re:CoM of all games lmao. Good stuff ninten.
20hours are actually not that much. needed more than 150h for FF x or Kh BBS took around 90h

I started watching around 3 weeks ago because I was trying a lvl 1 crit run of KH3 and I gotta say, i love your content! I binged a lot of your videos since I started watching and I'm always excited for the next video. Keep up the amazing work!
Getting Riku to lv 99 is one of the longest grinds I've ever done, and I never want to do that again.

I got the ReCOM plat during lockdown but I tried to do it for BBS and the mini games killed my spirit
@@mochhhhee The fact that you have to do all minigames for each of the three characters is the real killer here. And all of those command board challenges.
@@StormVII i think the whole thing being three times is what's awful. Also why i never got a plat for DDD. Yeah in reCom we have Riku's side but it's so short and different that it's in no way comparable but for those others! It's not even the fun kind of grind (oh what KILLED my plat attempt at bbs was definitely the command board and trying to get Pete)
I'm trying to platinum bbs right now and I can't even do ice cream beat on one character let alone all of them, I don't mind fighting the bosses multiple times because the game is pretty fun but everything else is such a fucking chore, probably a byproduct of it being a psp game, they made all handheld games gimmicky as hell to make it seem like there's a lot of content
@@mochhhhee For DDD, there's a new game plus mode that will take your spirits over to a new save file, so if you want to get everything done on Beginner mode and then simply unlock all of the skills (+Zero Exp which is Critical Exclusive) you could do that.

i popped into the stream a couple of times and didnt fully comprehend you were doing a speedrun. so i kept wondering "why doesnt he take a break? ;;" LOL. but the run was really impressive as always! item drop manip was something i never knew about in this game
Its amazing to think that this game can be snapped in too with just a bit of grinding for red octave cards, blue melody cards, and just jamming it full of blizzards and fires respectively.
Such an under appreciated game. Was awesome to see most of it, took me back to PS3 days. I think Sora 100% would actually be a cool speedrun for ReCom.
ReCoM 100% JJ speedrun would be quite interesting though. rng manipulation is just insane nowadays. I really wonder if ReCom will get a rando as well, like sleight and rewards rando.
GBA version was my first KH game, I absolutely adore this game. My biggest complaint is they didn't give us any endgame/super boss content in Re:CoM. Not counting Riku mode obviously. I think extra content in Sora's story would have been so good because of how much build diversity there is in his mode.
I had no idea there was a common tactic to rng manip for enemy cards. I went through and manually figured out strats to get them. Atlantica and halloween town both had enemies which were a pain to get cards for.

I have done a Series Platinum Trophy Run before, off camera and it took me days and I mean days to complete Re:CoM this is one of if not the most impressive thing I've ever seen. You are amazing Ninten I love your content.
Also Ninten do you have the doc needed for manipulation of RNG available for others to use? How can we find it?
I attempted COM once. Let's just say it was when I was younger. I never could figure out where or why I was at a place. This crap amazes me that someone could platinum this

It took me years to finish this plat just because of how bad the Riku LV99 trophy is. Insane endurance on your part to do it all at once.
I did this when I was quarantined inside with COVID. Took like 40 hours. Not worth it
Sat my ass down for 8 hours straight and I got him to 99
When people ask what KH plat was the worst, I often say this game just because, the person who made the trophies didn't really think them through. Other games in the series might take longer but, they feel like less of a waste of time.
I've platinum'd that game and I don't know about these chests, Riku's lv 99 was torturing, I remember looking up for fastest method, require you to positioning Riku perfectly to save bit more time, love the vid.

If you ever run out of things to do, doing a one-card challenge on this would definitely be an interesting thing to do imo. It’s been proven possible already, but it puts the majority of the bosses in an entirely new light. Whether better or worse is up to you, but they’re def challenges now.

Btw if anyone is ever stuck on this game or dropped it because it was too hard or requires too much thinking just use a Firaga deck (only firaga and sonic blade + heals and elixirs etc) and for Mobs use a Blizzaga deck. You can beat the final boss without grinding by just mashing Triangle with a Firaga deck. Does huge damage and doesn’t require set up for reloads, both spells completely break the game and the only set up is some moogle point grinding every now and again

You have my absolute respect, sir. I *JUST* finished Reverse/Rebirth, something that has been the bane of my existence since the original came out (because Riku's cards are absolute shite on the worlds where they should be good), and I haven't even attempted platinum yet; speedrunning it would be impossible for me.

Hi ninten, i was thinking about the runs at level 1 of kh 2, the game gives you buffs to help you, but what happens with a run at level 2? in theory the game would no longer give you that extra scaling, is it possible to finish it like that?
Kingdom hearts 2 doesn't give you any buff at lvl 1

Took me an ass time to get 100% at PS2 version,already tried to make a 100% card collection speedrun but never where able to do it(Gave up amidst,coz of bad luck),so that manipulation trick is quite awesome! Didn't knew about it before,but even so,would be lazy to keep getting the console on and off,had more fun time doing regular speedrun,no HP upgrade run and plan to make sleightless run and limit myself to build a deck with only initial CP. You have an iron will to get those trophies all at once,but shit,having to edit deck and leveling up like that is a suffering!!!

The Riku grind easily is the worst thing about it. I got through that with the help of Netflix, RUclips and Audible

I’ve played all KH games in the remix except Re:Chain. And I don’t know why I never done it and this makes me fear it.

Also, the gold and platinum cards are kind of sweet. I don’t believe I ever got those after getting the plat trophy. Well done Ninten! :)
I already dread at the tought of level 99 riku. Overall level 99 Sora was easy thanks to megaflare, but I still have PTSD flashbacks about lvl99 riku

I have had a lot of fun getting the platinum trophies for Kingdom Hearts games. But I think I will pass on getting it in Re:CoM. Doing all of this in one sitting sounds rough. But congrats on achieving that!
NGL I was always a bit salty that RE:CoM was the playable game and not 358/2. I've never enjoyed or even beaten any version of CoM but I loved 358/2
Re:CoM is up there with BBS as one of the hardest games in the series to 100%. But with BBS, that’s just because you have to do everything three times (one of the times being with Terra, ughh). Re:CoM is mostly just dumb luck and grinding.

I never beat the original game on gameboy advance because I could never beat dragon maleficent. Then I tried the game on PS3 and decided I’ll try for the trophy for without using a continue… lost that in wonderland.

I watched only a bit of this live, I'm usually more of a RUclips viewer over Twitch stream watcher...but it made me realize just how well Crunchie does on the editing here. Not to say the content was awful for a stream, but I really could tell how well the video was paced for RUclips :)

I enjoyed this game. Testing out new sleights was fun once you got the hang of it. But it has like 0 replay value because my God do you have to THINK. It’s exhausting 😅
RNG manipulation is so goofy. Just as a concept.

Ah yes I remember played this on PS2. My ps2 data still alive but now I own a PS4. And I own both 1.5+2.5 and 2.8 but I am to lazy to play re:com. And I am kinda stuck on lingering will in kh2 ;-;.

I beat this game with RAID and RAID ONLY. Any card that says RAID i used it. Electro Raid used:782 times on my first play through

I have a hard time believing someone figured out you needed to dodge roll x amount of times in order to get certain cards lmao
Once they noticed that you could consistently get stuff to drop by doing ceetain actions, all they would have had to do was try out different combinations of stuff to see what it gave you.
Though I'm guessing whoever figured all that stuff out just used an emulator to look at the rng code, actually going through the process of testing every possible combination of shit would be exhausting.
