Nice video, the Yellow Spot is excellent. The Jameson 18 in case is a little high but good. Wish I could find the cask strength version. Love the Glendalough 17 but definitely priced high by $50 but it is also an old limited release. Blue and Red Spot as well as the Redbreast 21 are just cheaper to order from Ireland. Very nice selection of stuff with great bourbon pricing.
Yeah another great video. Great prices. Great store! Great cameraman! Yeah everything's really good. I love it! Thanks for being the channel that you are. Thank you !!!!!!
I'm a BIG Stranahan's fan. All of their Single Malt varieties are good. My favorites are the diamond peak "Bushmills " cask. The yellow label standard and the yellow label, single barrel, barrel proof, pure nectar. The red label sherry finish is also a great drink. Sipping on the Diamond Peak "Bushmills " cask as I type. Well worth a try. Your store prices were good on some of the labels, but I saw a number of them that I could get from $10.00- $20.00 cheaper in my area. There were a few store specials like Michter's varieties that were a great bargain. You really need to know your prices. The Store did have some great deals. Your Forester bottle was worth a try, since it is difficult to find. I'm a big fan of the Forester 1920. I saw it yesterday at my local Costco for $47.00.
Old Forester SBBS is one of my favorites. I've been buying them up in the Atlanta area. This bottle will be allocated . 79 dollars in Atlanta at the moment
Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Proof is fantastic. I always grab a store pick when I see one. The northeast recently had availability of the OF SBBP Rye and wow it is good!
The Stranahans Blue Peak is a great for the price! If you like single malts and looking to get into the ASM category, Blue Peak is awesome! Very fruity and lighter whiskey, very Irish like.
I'd skip the Spot whiskies in favor the Redbreast. They are both owned by Middleton but Spot seems more like premium Jameson. Redbreast is it's own thing. That Cask Strength for under $100 is a really good deal. I also appreciate your comment on Glenfarclas. The 105 in my area is up to $140 which is crazy. This used to be one of the best budget brands around. They are still independently owned with makes distribution in the US an issue. I don't think these high prices are going away unfortunately. Very nice video. You really captured Joe's
Thanks for your input. We absolutely love Redbreast, and the CS release is one that we always have on hand. It's truly crazy how quickly Glenfarclas went from being affordable to being "premium".
Ha! Excellent! An early morning shoutout! It's nice to see more Driftless Glen around! Ooo! Were those handles of OF 86 and 100 or just 1 liter bottles? I wish I could find the 100 proof handles! They also have the OF mint julep bottle! The Evan Williams small batch American Hero Edition! Gosh I wish I could find that in my area! I just haven't seen it anywhere! Smoke Wagon private barrel! An OF SBBP pick? Heck yeah!
What was this background music? all those guitar riffs just sound like something John Mayer would play. Im a couple hours east of you in Indiana. Best believe I am making a list of the good stores in Illinois to hit up thanks to your videos!
Every once in a while, we get feedback about the music is, so we tried to switch it up while adding more commentary by request. What are your thoughts? Love to hear that! We have a few spots in Indiana that we like, but if you know of any we should check out please send them to bondingoverbourbonpodcast@gmail.com.
Yellow Spot is great but pricing on Irish whiskey has ballooned even more than bourbon. 2 years ago i could get Yellow Spot for $90 and RB 12yr CS for $75. Now it's ~$140 and $100. Yellow Spot is not worth over $100
Pricing has definitely gotten a little out of hand over the last couple of years. We've seen the prices of Yellow Spot trending down, but not enough yet that we're comfortable with picking it up.
Yeah I live within 30 minutes from whiskey acres and their whiskey is all too young. Blue popcorn is good, but that's only because all the other stuff is terrible by comparison. So yeah, that's their only good offering, but I would never pay for a bottle.
Thank you so much for the shout out. I’m glad you had a good experience at Joe’s. Keep the videos coming.
Thanks again for the suggestion! Really helped us pull us out of a bad luck day.

Thanks for your kind words and for supporting the channel 🙏
this store is amazing
Great store, its one of my go to’s in the area. Have picked up some pretty good finds in that top shelf location you found the OF SBBS.
It's honestly pretty great! Any standout finds there?

Thanks for sharing. How do they compare to other American single malts?
Old Forester SBBS is one of my favorites. I've been buying them up in the Atlanta area. This bottle will be allocated . 79 dollars in Atlanta at the moment
$79 is crazy! I've never seen it for less than $100 up here.
probably the best store I've ever seen on youtube! And I've seen every video lol great bottles and great prices !!!
Joe's really saved the day for us. Thanks for watching!
They seemed to have a good selection of Smoke Wagon.
Nice shop. I saw some really good pricing. Cant go wrong with a blue label Old Fo.
Great find on the OF Single Barrel!!
Thanks! Definitely the silver lining of a very long day.
Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Proof is fantastic. I always grab a store pick when I see one. The northeast recently had availability of the OF SBBP Rye and wow it is good!
We still haven't seen the rye for less than 200 out here. Not sure how much of a value pour that is.
@@BondingOverBourbon WOW, that's nuts! Wild variations in the market. I picked mine up for $89+tax
We would definitely pick it up at that price.
The Stranahans Blue Peak is a great for the price! If you like single malts and looking to get into the ASM category, Blue Peak is awesome! Very fruity and lighter whiskey, very Irish like.
Now, this sounds interesting. Might have to try it now. Thanks for your feedback.
Great pick up! I have a warehouse K Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Strength that is so good! Maybe go back for that Dettling too!🥃
Definitely excited to open it up soon. We have a Dettling and can find it pretty regularly. Otherwise, we probably would have scooped it up.
I had the Basil Hayden toast in an old fashioned and really enjoyed it! Not sure I would want to buy a whole bottle for myself though
That's kinda how we feel about it. Maybe if we could find a 375, we would try that old fashioned.

Great selection and pricing! First place I have seen Dettling SB. Woodman’s in Carpentersville, IL has had Michter’s for $36.99 for about 6 months. 🥃
Unbelievable. We'll definitely have to go there soon.
Four Gate has some pretty damn good releases, it's a shame they are so pricey
That's the only thing that keeps us from buying more. We found a split stave at Woodman's last month for 140 that we couldn't pass up.

Keeper's heart guy's so good
We keep meaning to try it, but keep getting distracted by other bottles. It's kind of a problem 😮💨
@BondingOverBourbon I just pick a binny's pick of there Madeira barrel it's amazing
We'll add it to our list
@BondingOverBourbon and the master distiller was the master distiller of Jameson
Looks like he was at the helm for Redbreast, too. We love Redbreast, so this just bumped it's way up to the top of our list. Thanks for sharing this!

Last time we tried it, there was definitely a lot of youthful burn to it. We were really hoping that had changed with time.
That's what I would have got too 😉👍🥃 Cheers
Traveller for $29.99, that stuff is soooo bad 😢😂
We haven't bothered trying it. If enough people say it's bad, we trust that it is.
