He says she is siding with her and screwing him?! $160ish a month for 3 kids is chump change. It doesn't cover ANYTHING! It's chump change for 1 kid! He is getting off so easy! It's pretty ridiculous how screwed custodial parent's get when it comes to child support.

If he genuinely is 100% disabled, that's a reasonable amount -- he'd barely be getting enough to live on from SSDI. I don't think I believe him about that, but my issue with him isn't the amount, it's the disability, or lack thereof.

His child support gives each child $1.82 per day to eat, cloth, and a roof over their heads. How angry he is to make sure his kids don’t starve. Horrible!!

My ex did pay child support for our 16 year old child until she turned 18. He also told her that she should take me to court because I did not hand over those monthly payments directly to her, but was using it to help pay the mortgage, which I could not afford on my part time job, on the house in which we lived until I could sell it. My 16 year old kindly did not take me to court but by the time her 18th birthday came around and she was starting her university degree, the house had been sold so her father (who was earning more than $150,000 a year and that was 50+ years ago) refused to help her pay for costs/housing etc in the mining town of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia which had the best metallurgy department of any university in the country at that time He told her that since I had received approximately $90,000 from the sale of the house and still owed her 2 years' worth back payments for the child support, it was my responsibility to meet all of her university costs. She believed him and for a year or two our once very close relationship became strained.
Needless to say, she grew up very quickly in Kalgoorlie as one of only two young women in the "men only" metallurgical mining engineering world, where even the "bad luck" myth of a woman descending deep into the gold mines still prevailed.
Now, she has lived and worked in very many countries and without her support, I would be on the street in my old age.

Do not make babies you can't afford. We ALL have the potential to become disabled in the future. I have ONE child because I KNOW that even if my income was cut, I could still support that child. I wanted more children but my son has multiple disabilities and it would not be fair to him or any other child I brought into this household to have to share my care and my income. That is called being a responsible adult. This man is not a responsible adult.
Why is the judge allowing him to eat and drink for so long while on Zoom? It’s still considered an official court appearance, is it not? I’m glad she finally admonished him to stop; better late than never, I guess

As a court mediator this case is pissing me off..PAY FOR YOUR CHILDREN..I have Crohns and I've worked 36 yrs, 14 surgeries as a single mom. In 20 yrs I've assisted many clients with disabilities and many still worked. After yelling at the Judge I was hoping for contempt..You are a horrible nasty person..I hope woman in your town see this and sadly your children will see this at some point..

This odious, disrespectful deadbeat dad either expects his poor children to survive on air or for others to feed, clothe and house them. I understand that he has health issues but find it reprehensible that he’s only contributing less than $2/day for each of his children’s upkeep. And he was even trying to haggle about that amount. He should be ashamed.
As a side note, I don’t know how the judge could put up with his rude, self-righteous demeanor. She has the patience of a saint. But all I could think while watching this was: “where’s Judge Fleischer when you need him?”

I like the statement, "$164 is not enough". Any parent should be required to take care of their child, putting the child first.
It was about 15 or so years ago, maybe longer even, that from birth to 18 the cost of raising a child was $1M, $164 a month isn't even a drop in the bucket.
And by parent I am being specific because this is not just a father problem, there are a a very large number of mothers out there behaving the same bloody way as this father.

You are correct in that the income is untaxed as well as unaccounted for in the formulary to decide what is adequate to support a child. I mean, technically, when speaking with the AG office he has also perjured himself if it is found that he is working at all, not just working and receiving cash. Other things count, such as living somewhere rent free, such as a family/friend/business owners property in lieu of a paycheck properly taxed and filed.
Everyone tries to game the system, but they go all Pikachu-faced when it comes back to bite them squarely in the derriere!
What you said at the start... Sure you're judging the person, but I think more often not, you get those gut feelings because your brain is picking up on a lot of subtle non verbal cues

I feel for the mom. My ex is in prison so I can’t take him to court till he gets out. I already have a 10k in medical bills. Dudes just get away with so much. He is trash. Pay for your kids. Dialysis is not a reason for disability.

If he’s getting SS disability his children I believe should be getting a check every month also. When my husband was approved for his disability for his really really bad diabetes his son/mother got a $5k or was it 10k big payment then $500 a month till he turned 18. All the guy has to do is tell SS about his children I think. It kind of takes the place of child support since the one parent can’t work and it helps the custodial parent care for the children.

I should imagine it’s because a judge has to sit and talk for hours at a time so need hydration but defendants are only there a short time and should show respect to the court.

And I’m talking about on the zoom sessions not actually in court. About the judge allowing drinking of things on the zoom sessions.
In almost every courtroom, there is a small pitcher of water with small glasses to drink from on the defendant and prosecution tables for the parties to drink from. I find it more offensive and a lack of courtroom decorum that he's smacking on a piece of bubblegum than him taking a drink. Since this is a virtual hearing where wall signs regarding the prohibited actions can not be displayed like a typical courtroom has. Then, the rules should be explained to everyone before the hearing.
Not all judges take offense to individuals taking a drink during a hearing. Especially since MANY of the judges are drinking during the hearings.

If dad is in SSI. Why does mom have the children on state medical insurance? They should be on Medicare- and they should be eligible for dependent aid of some amount.
