      The Truth exactly!

    • @VNVNation2013
      @VNVNation2013 5 лет назад +8

      @The Actual truth It wasn't unprovoked. A lot of rappers hated Ice back then. For the same reason that a lot of punk bands hated Blink 182, and a lot of glam bands hated Poison: They watered down their genres.

    • @VNVNation2013
      @VNVNation2013 5 лет назад +7

      @The Actual truth >"How did Vanilla Ice water down the genre?"
      Did you ever listen to his fucking music, or look at his style?
      The black rappers didn't have some conspiracy to take him down. Think of how fucking ridiculous you sound. They hated him because he made a fucking joke of their genre.
      I don't hate Rob Van Winkle. In fact, good for him for his overall success in life. But the Vanilla Ice of the early 1990s was rightfully ridiculed, because he was a clown.

    • @cb-tz8og

      The Actual truth made a ton of sense. It was their biggest hit ever.

    • @VNVNation2013
      @VNVNation2013 5 лет назад +4

      @The Actual truth Am I at least 40? I grew up around this kind of music in the early 90s, just as much as punk and heavy metal. That's all that you need to know. Even if I hadn't, my age doesn't disqualify my opinion that Ice was a clown.
      And none of those acts that you listed compare with the level of fakeness and buffoonery that Ice put out in 1991. There's a difference between being a funny act, and a clown show.

      +Johnny Brist In 1991, this video was intentionally STUPID. It was designed and making a satirical point about Vanilla Ice: He sat the bar low for White Hip Hop and nearly erased Beastie Boys from the public memory, with his gimmick,fake street talk, and embarrassing dancing and hit single. Ice also ILLEGALLY sampled Under Pressure and then DENIED he sampled it saying it was totally different.
      Ice got the satirical ass kicking he deserved here. But Jim Carrey on In Living Color pretty much drove the final nail in the coffin on his career.

But then it's like oh wait, Id never regconize them anyways. I'm pretty sure I was still playing w/ trolls back then. Not the I. Net kind. Those things w) the wild hair that had gems in their belly. In a way, some of these groups really don't seem that old, but at the same time do. Like there's ppl who are even up to 60, maybe even 70 that got down to this. But you'd never think that about older folks bc well they're just older folks. I mean it's kinda like coming across a dad type, that looks like someone you'd never talk to 😅. Then you play random sh & he's like, 😯 ohhhh sh. This used to be my jam. & It'd be like 😯 word? Yeah, I used to break dance to this. Liiiikeee 🤔? Yeah, it's almost like a Lincoln telling you he used to rap or something. That's the only way I know how to explain it. I promise I'm not trying to be insulting. it's amazing as a 27 year old man i listen to this and i swear to goodness this song from 1991 is better than any of the bullshit that is out now, it's ironic that 3rd bass said rap was going Pop in 1991. it's like they predict the future because in 2011 all this Nikki Minaj, Drake, Waka Flocka, and Lil' Wayne bullshit is pure CRAP...

    • @waxoftriple9
      @waxoftriple9 9 лет назад +8

      Not the point, the point of the song is Ice and his DJ's thievery of the Bowie/Queen song and pretending they didn't sample it. You won't find 3rd Bass saying they didn't sample Peter Gabriel, they gave credit in the album notes. Ice didn't and tried to say they came up with the loop and it was original, which it wasn't.

    So many don't even know this pioneering rap group or their beef with Vanilla Ice, which ruined Ice's rep and career for a long time.
    I liked them both, but rap beefs were
    what it was all about, especially back then.
    Mc Serch owns I believe nearly 100% of NAS's music catalog and has for like 25-30+ years!
    I'm sure it served Mc Serch well financially and I think Serch exec produced most of Nas's biggest albums. And now he's selling it all, which I think is cool for Nas and for anyone who will buy it...to which there should be plenty of interested buyers.
    Mc Serch shoud be more well known. But I'm a fan of Mc Serch & the Prime Minister Pete Nice.
    3rd Bass will always have a special place in my heart. My memories of of their creative, fun videos and that time of life was just something special.
    Mc Serch....DO ANOTHER RAP REALITY SHOW!!?♡
