sialelatu23 I’m on that train with you! Think if we traded back they’d go for sweat instead though but we definitely need capital especially if AZ pick bosa
Well, he's in Carolina now, to go besides Luke Kuechly, Kawaan Short, and Gerald McCoy on the front 7. Carolina is gonna surprise some people this year, I see their offensive skill players are very fast and young, the O-line got a majorly underrated upgrade from Matt Paradis, and McCaffrey(sp?) is honestly an MVP-caliber player if he keeps his speed with his new strength. I'm not sure how their GM is right now, but he did a great job.
I came hear just to imagine...lol if you ask me I say him first then Hollywood or hakeem butler that would be a dream draft....either that or the best o-lineman first. We don't need to force the quarterback situation until TUA
Born April 23, 1998. Played high school football for the American Heritage Patriots or Bulldogs (FL). Played college football for the Florida State Seminoles. Drafted #16 overall by the Carolina Panthers. First game is August 8 when they travel to Chicago to face "Da Bears." As a resident of SC, I just want to welcome Brian to the area and I look forward to seeing him on Sundays. Maybe he can help the defense get back on track.
Reminds me of randy Gregory/Arden key, long and lanky, slightly above average explosion off the line, good bend and shoulder dip despite height, solid initial moves, struggles to execute secondary moves to finish the rush at times, gives up on plays, highlights are better than film, potential is there but the game film leaves a lot to be desired. On the field he looks like a 25-35 type of player, the combine will have him going higher.
adrian aguilar for a skinny lightweight fucker like him, yes it’s very average. At his size you’d want a aldon Smith/Leonard Floyd like first step, and he’s nowhere near that.
struggles to execute on secondary rush & gives up on plays ??? wtf are you talking about man 🤣🤣 he is nothing like randy gregory or arden key dude gave 100% effort on all plays even when they were getting shitted on. and you say he struggles with secondary rush moves yet all the draft analyst call him the most polished pass rusher in the draft. think i’m going to agree with the people who actually get paid to make those types of evaluations. unless your just a troll this is a shitty take man.
Stephen Blackson lol those same “analysts” you blindly follow had players like dion Jordan, barkevious mingo, Aaron curry, nick fairley, and Noah Spence as Gods while great prospects get ignored by analysts all the time. So yeah you can just blindly listen to people who get paid 6 figures to spit out headlines and hot takes, or you can form your own opinion. Burns is not as refined as Montez sweat, not even close, more gifted athlete but not as refined, he would have doubled his goddamn sack numbers if he could take a good jump and first move and chain it to a finishing rush move to disengage and bend, but he too often takes himself out of a winning spot and gives the OT leverage. and you can see clear as day where he lacks hustle consistently on plays where the ball isn’t going his way, if he doesn’t think he’s got an easy backside pursuit he is slowing down, he takes off run snaps, you can see it all on film, it’s right there
Mike Hardesty yeah you have no clue what you’re talking about burns is nothing like any of those prospects you listed 🤣 and i’ve seen every game burns has played at fsu multiple times effort is not a issue with him. he’s not a 100 percent perfect prospect never said he was he has some areas he can improve(gets pushed too wide at times) but the traits of a elite pass rusher are all there. you say he doesn’t have secondary moves yet he’s always setting up OT with endless counters and chaining pass rush moves together? i haven’t watched montez sweat other than highlights so i can’t comment much on him. i know he doesn’t have the same level of burst or flexibility that burns has off the edge and those are the 2 most important traits for a pass rusher imo.
What makes him special is how he sets up the OL to get to the RB or QB. Hes gonna be really good wether he puts on weight or not. Without strength though, he wont reach his full potential. Hes an OLB in 3-4 or a OLB/DE in a 4/3 defense. Hes special no doubt, he could go to my Hawks in the 2nd round bcuz i think we're picking Lonnie Johnson from Kentucky/CB in the 3rd. Pete will pick a defensive player or a WR with the 2nd pick. I was saying OL but not with our OL already solidified this year after us signing Fluker, Fant and Iupati. I think Pete is looking for someone special to go after the QB in the 2nd. We wont be drafting anyone in the 1st this year for sure. We also scouted Jalen Jelks from oregon, look at both of their frame and playstyle and u will see that theyre similar. The Ducks didnt use Jelks the right way playing him as a way undersized DT. If we draft him he will probably be standing up a lot as a pass rusher at the OLB spot, he can also take the RBs in the flat as well with his athleticism. If we do end up going with Jelks expect us probably going FS Nassir Adderly to take the job from Thompson. I see the draft going like this #2 Nassir Adderly #3 Lonnie Johnson and depending on how many picks we get for trading down we could end up with another 3rd or so. I feel like this draft is gonna put us right there with the 49ers to take the division this year. I see us drafting a WR in the 4th or 5th. Look for someone 6'0 + and can be a 4th or 5th WR.
With Kuechly as a teacher he's going to be great for Carolina. You can tell they are trying to find the next Thomas Davis and I think this was a smart pick.
I am a packers fan and i want us to draft josh allen and couple mock drafts say either the teams with the top 4 picks raiders jets and 49ers would take josh allen but mostly jets and 49ers but my question is why would they pass up on brian burns hes a explosive defensive end with the speed power and build thay can also allow him to play outside linbacker just who would pass that up
I believe once key puts on more weight and muscle. And when he learns how to control himself. Maybe he can put it all together in this off-season. He's going to be a dominant force for our Raiders for a long time to come. There's only one RaiderNation! 🗣️ Raiders all day!😀👍🏾✌🏾
Dl and learn to sequence together moves to finish his rush, he’ll put himself in a position to win with a good rush and initial move, and then he won’t capitalize. His film shows a lot of snaps where he wins with a good downward swat or a jump step and all he’s gotta do is dip and bend, but instead he tries to counter inside or just stays tall and gets pushed past the pocket.
@Green Phantom 235 pounds for someone 6'5 is way too little for a DE. Most DE weigh from 255-275 pounds even OLB in the nfl weighs more then him. He's gonna have a hard time in the nfl if he doesnt get any bigger.
@@diondrebaker4062 he's still young and in his early 20's. His body is still growing and changing rapidly. If he really wants to he can gain weight n alot more muscle in a short period of time. I played ball back in high school. I was 160 in my junior year and in my senior year I put up weight to 180. Alot of weight lifting n eating right foods and protein.
He’s a Day 2 player to me. After the combine he’ll likely become a day 2 player. Needs to add weight. A lot of teams love pulling guards in the run game now & it’s to get that Mitch match against these smaller DE to blow players like Burns off the ball. So mainly needs to add muscle & weight to compete at a high level in the NFL. But he has all the traits to be a great pass rusher. He’s fast & have great moves just has to add that weight & muscle & because of it it’ll make him a day 2 player. Right now he’s in the first round of a few mocks but after combine he’ll show he’s a day 2. Burns probably won’t bench press to much of nothing lifting the 225. There’s plenty of RB in the league that weights more than him. He probably stands no chance against these great guards in the league now, zack Martin, Brandon sheriff, Quentin Nelson or Frank Ragnow, they’ll blow burns right off the ball
Diondre Baker weird since all the draft analyst say he anchors really well against the run and doesn’t lose his ground often. he has rare flexibility that you don’t see often and that’s an underrated trait when scouting pass rushers. at minimum he is going to get you at least 8 sacks per year as a pass rushing specialist and that’s easily worth a 1st round selection in today’s nfl
That is a pretty good comparison. Two guys who are entirely reliant on initial speed, are liabilities against the run, and who will get creamed by every Tackle in the NFL. The main differences are that Burns is more refined and at least knows multiple moves. Plus he actually has a good top speed while Allen only has speed in the initial burst.
He really needs to put in work in the weight room to add weight to his frame, he does have potential and gross but, needs works with hand placement, look at BOSA high lights, he is always using his hands.
Welcome to the Panthers! Excited to see you play in the league. #KEEPPOUNDING

Giants stole him
Welcome to PANTHERS!! KEEP POUNDING!!
#KeepPounding I see Burns keeping that alive and well for us at Carolina Welcome to The Panthers Brian Burns make us proud!

Didn’t have to trade up!

With a good strength program at the NFL level this guy can be a terror. Reminds me of a Jevon Kearse and Jason Pierre Paul combo type
More of jevon kearse because JPP was more of a power rusher
Who’s here after panthers drafted him?
1:10 that spin move was smooth
Packers need a guy like him .. looks like he could be a great aspect for any team
He could play outside linbacker for us with that speed
I hope you’re right Chris....see you mid April lol
I agree, but he doesn't fit the usual profile physically. Maybe that will change with the new staff?
Burns and Fackwell on each side with Clark and Daniels in middle would be awesome
Joseph Stevens true... but I just hope they get a great edge rusher
I can already imagined what he would be able to do along side johnathen Allen , deron Payne , Ryan karrigan 😱
Hell yea bro httr

And now Reuben Foster!
Httr all day
That'd be something. As a person, who is also, a Nole fan, I would LOVE this move.
Hope he’s there at 15 for the Skins. Great player
1 short
He WAS there, but I like the Haskins pick.

saints with cam jordan
