Thanks John for the video. Good to see you talking about carving. I used to carve stone, but mostly with chisels. Old age and arthritis has pretty much put a stop to it, but is interesting to hear you talk about it. Keep the videos coming as I like to see your art.

Nice little hatchet, personally i use a fiskars x7, Estwing hatchet, and a smaller shaping axe that has a profile similar to a knife (really thin all metal blade and handle with a overmold rubber grip). This one has a good width top it for splitting kindling and such and 1066 is a solid steel for axe heads. Thanks for the look see and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable

Stick with the wildlife hatchet, I have one as well and decided to give this axe a try then sent it back. It's like going from a Lamborghini to a Honda lol. Would be alright for a beginner who doesn't want to commit too much money at first but once you use a great axe it's hard to go back!

Love your channel. But,,,I got one of these partly based on this review and was really unhappy with it. The fit at the head was really shoddy. Lots of wood filler and just poor workmanship. I gave it away and wound up with a Nedfoss 13” camp hatchet. 40 bucks and it came with a sheath, a lanyard and extra wedges. The quality was amazing. I would love for you to review it. Cheers.
