- The Biggest Problem For Windows PC Today
This is a very common problem with Windows 10 and Windows 11, so what is it? potentially unwanted programs (PuPs) and Adware. People love downloading junk of the internet and end up getting infected with malware.
This type of pc infection can make the computer very sluggish and take up a lot of system resources. Let me show you how to deal with this common pc problem.

See what I can do
I think real time demonstrations of software is fun and informative.
Thanks Brian.
Glad you think so!
Me too! Keep em coming
As you know Brian, I have been a fan for ages but I do get confused when in nearly every video (including this one) you say "I'll leave links in the description" but in you rarely do. We could look for your suggestions but a link is much quicker and gives you credit? Best as ever.
Thanks for this. Big help to those of us who may get called to fix a friend or relatives PC. Fortunately, most of my friends have gotten the word and are deeply suspicious of installing things like this.
Glad I could help
one thing i would like to see is the ACTUAL site links you use in the description .cheers
Hi, Brian. Videos like this makes me glad that I've ditched Windows and moved to Linux.
I can't use Linux as a full time daily pc
@@Britec09 Understandable. And I have to keep watching videos like this because I work on other people's Windows PCs. 👍👍
Thanks for watching
I don't use programs like this because what it (i.e. the developer) considers a PUP, may be essential to my system. I do like the advice to scan with multiple AV packages. As usual a great vid - thanks
This was extremely helpful! I have CCleaner but am always afraid to run Registry Cleaner because I have no idea what it would be removing! I will try these two programs. Thank you for the hands on Demos, they are extremely helpful, and thanks for not going SO fast like you usually do. 🙂
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Brian. Run KillEmAll twice but alas i got blue screen & it restared my pc. I'm using Win 11. All the other Programs i use no probs. thank pal. Bri D.👍👍
Excellent stuff, it's been too long since I did anything like this on my computer. It's not running slowly or anything, just needs a checkup.
Thanks for watching
It would be so cool to see a video about which programs you got installed on your main system or on your home and work systems.
You are correct about this problem being around for years. When I started to notice this issue being a real problem was with Windows 98.
The problem is that people download software, not from the official developer/vendor site, or install software that is bundled with other software. This results in having other software installed that they didn't want or request
That is one of the problems
There really is only one way to ensure performance and get rid of software issues, it's called a fresh install of the OS and wanted or needed programs. Thus the need for current data backups and a clean disc image for recovery of the system. Started dealing with computers in 1972 and any program that makes promises that sound too good to be true are 99.9999999999999999% most likely going to cause more problems than it can fix, since nothing is 100% I had to do the long 99%.
I don't think it's a "Windows PC" problem... If people keep clicking everything they see like crazy, than it really does not matter what OS they're on.
There's still data-stealing malware and ransomware to worry about too.
Great video Britec! I always find your videos to be very useful. I just though I would quickly add in a comment. While Windows has always been the No.1 target, Linux systems have had a somewhat large increase in malware attacks in the last year or 2, but in general, they are much harder to infect because they require administration access to install programs, mind you, using the terminal incorrectly can have devastating consequences. (e.g being in the root account and installing something dodgy, or removing your home folder.)
I think most malware and viruses for Linux are targeted towards the server editions, but they are not very different from the desktop Linux systems, apart from the fact they often have no GUI.
The worst thing that will affect Windows and Linux is ransomware
@@Britec09 Absolutely. Ransomware is particularly nasty because it can spread over a network, making it possible to infect hundreds of PC's. Some antivirus software cannot prevent or remove ransomware, although paid for ones usually have this ability. Hopefully we don't see a massive spike in Linux malware attacks again at the end of the year (2022 was a bad year for Linux, in terms of malware attacks 😪)
very helpful info well explained quick question got an old laptop running vista 32 bit what would you do regarding upgradiing it
This is fantastic info brian,
Very helpfull indeed ,thankyou loads sir
I'm always astonished when I see desktops with App Icons plastered like a white out snowstorm across their screens, alas our younger users seem to be more prone to 'App Addiction' - I'm not immune myself - and when I look closer I see Apps that more often than not duplicate whats done on others. I have a STRONG suspicion that good house keeping is NOT included in Computer Science lessons at school. I might be wrong - many just can't be bothered. The pop up adverts are also extremely annoying many which come from signing up with websites that are suffering acute notification 'cyberrhea'. Always enjoy your posts Brian.
Thanks Ruth
Yet another great video Brian, thanks Don
Watching this made me appreciate my Chromebook even more. I just use Windows when I have to. Thanks for the great tips and video!
Kerish Doctor, Unchecky, Bitdefender, Firefox and Adblocker keeps me free from any 'nasty'
Very interesting.thank you.
another useful info vlog thanks brian…does the cdkey sales work after notice of windows not activated due to black market kms try..
Thank you , i noted all the names down and see when i will use it, at the moment my pc is not slow it wouldn't hurt to install all these programs you mentioned and just use them from time to time even when the pc is not slow ?
Had a mates laptop, removed all the adware, pups and wot not.
The issue I had after this was windows update, I tried every trick in your book to get it working, all the disms, sfc scans, clearing the Software distribution folder, no joy , fail fail fail. Best thing to do, imo, is back up what you can, find your serial codes for programs to reinstall, and do a Windows repair and wipe the lot, saves you hours of mucking around and you get a speedier system back. If I can do it, anyone can.
It's just a matter of safe/wise surfing.
Hi Brian. Did you mention Farbar Recovery Scan Tool in the video?
I seem to recall having some computer malware that was so bad that I had to create a bootable pendrive Linux with some anti malware scanning & removal software on it!!! That junk can be tenacious!!!😳🙄
Just a quick question Brianit doesn’t really matter what are you actually a qualified engineer or just a enthusiast?
Wow, some of the stuff on that screen take me back especially thoughts lights across the top, they've been around forever., man that made me feel old. 😂
They sure have
It should be noted that Hitman also has pop-ups frequently during the day, daily for purchasing the full version. Lol! It's as annoying as any of them.
thanks info
Great video, thank you
I thought it was Christmas 😂.
Brilliant. Very handy tool. Thanks a million
You're welcome
Can you please do a video on the New Discord Ransomware AXLocker and how users should protect themselves. Thanks.
very useful as always
You almost talked me into Qubes.
I have an issue that suddenly appeared after a fresh install of 11. Device security is not letting me access memory integrity, although it's on in task manager, and the bios setting is correct, i think.
D7 Tech has "Uncle Carey's" snake oil program we need a review on that program
May I ask, would going into "Safe Mode" be considered equivalent to running "Kill Them All"? Many thanks!
Question: Can you install and run these programs if you already have Bit Defender antivirus/malware and anti adware software installed. I recently upgraded to Windows 11and my PC isn't really slow, but I was just curious. Thanks for all that you do.
No, bite defender will block it use adguard extension while browsing and you will be safe
I've tried to run "KillEmAll" several times now and It breaks me into a Blue Screen each time.
I couldn't find the the links in the description, did you forget?
Sir can you give me highly compressed of windows 11 23h2. I want file size of iso file size 500mb.
i cannot fix this problem since updating keeps showing (0x8007000d) i get to 925 of update then stops cannot install anymore
Good video!
Thanks!
nice xmas screen, my grandma has it like that, she loves it
lol
Is there a program that blocks them from installing?
And top of the bloatware list is Windows 11...
Hi Bri, I can't get any of the Shareasale links to work, and havent been able to for a long time. All the other links seem to be okay. Any idea why??
Not sure why, they open OK for me, have you tried another browser
How can I secure my old laptop running windows 7 starter
👍👍👍
Thanks
LINKS?
👍
Honestly Microsoft just fills windows with a ton of bloat wear that people generally don't need.
This has nothing to do with Microsoft, this is user error.
Cool!
Thanks
Just ran Killemall on my win 10 pc. Warning, it can kill many programs / files which you may not want destroyed. I have found no way to recover these files!
That's the problem with these admin tools
Yes, we need a preview of what it considers PUPs, that is why I don't use programs like this.
Don't worry about process hacker, it's false positive Malwarebytes
I am not worried
Okay then
Malwarebytes is a scam in itself. Always blocking sites so you think it's working. They can't fool me.
