      Yeah if someone told me the video was about a 28 year old I would have thought he was some pompous dumbfuck rich kid but he seems like a genuine car guy and a nice dude.

    • @Speednote10
      @Speednote10 8 лет назад +9

      Must be sad to automatically think of people you've never met in that kind of way.
      Try thinking that everyone is a great person until they prove you wrong instead, just a tip.

    • @marcushogan6613
      @marcushogan6613 8 лет назад +7

      You're right I am an overly cynical person by nature. It's just that people his age who put up videos of their Veyron are almost always totally clueless brats. Still though glad to see that this guy is a proper car nut. The car is a nice subtle colour and he clearly has a great respect for the engineering involved. He seems like a genuinely nice guy and I wish him all the best!

    These cars should be hammering backwards and forwards across Europe - such a shame there are no epic stories to go with such epic engineering

    All theese people saying "this car is shit, that car is shit" etc... might be shit to you, but to another person, it might be the best car in the world, it's about taste. This guy clearly loves his veyron, and while i'm not a big fan of the car, i can understand his love and passion for it. Great Video

    Awesome video SCD, always bringing amazing content. But we are forgetting a little American gem, the Hennessey Venom GT. RWD and with 1200hp, pretty rare and epic machine.

    • @OrangeTash
      @OrangeTash 8 лет назад

      No one cares about the venom it's a lotus with a twin turbo v8 there's no luxury or refinement , would never pay a million for a glorified Lotus

    • @harrypalmer7318
      @harrypalmer7318 8 лет назад

      +Carl exactly my point. Hennessey Venom maybe a glorified lotus, but it's a capable of beating the veyron, and has done. So it's the worlds fastest lotus then?

    • @OrangeTash
      @OrangeTash 8 лет назад

      +Harry Palmer it would never beat the veyron off the line it's a 6 speed manual with 1200 Hp going to the rear wheels from a stand still it wouldn't stand a chance really

    • @YachtReport
      @YachtReport 8 лет назад

      The Venom is a fast go cart. Not in the same league. Yes it's fast but no frills fast. This has build quality. Like he said when he takes it easy it's like a Bentley.

    Carl won't be driving his Veyron on the road for a while - have a quick Google of him regarding a prang with a 911 😬 Still, seems like a nice enough guy with a passion for supercars. The Veyron is definitely a car that sounds much better from the outside (especially from the rear) than it does inside - that whining drivetrain almost ruins it

    It would be interesting to see how many Veyrons can still achieve their claimed top speed today.
    Does Bugatti do a top-speed run before handing the car off to a consumer to certify their claim?

    • @YachtReport
      @YachtReport 8 лет назад

      They don't have to run each car at full speed to say they all go a certain speed. If you build cars on a production line to the same specs it's safe to say they will all perform the same way.

    • @kaio37k
      @kaio37k 8 лет назад +11

      more turbos allow for smaller turbos which means faster spool. Also, they're sequential not parallel turbos.

    • @MTreddevil12
      @MTreddevil12 8 лет назад +7

      it's an 8l 16 cylinder motor with 4 relatively small turbos on it. The damn thing makes more power at 1200rpm then most road cars at 5000rpm.

    Left-hand drive in foggy olde England, Veyrons in the states do not hold value at all, the one in this video was the first generation, with the small horseshoe grill, 1001 hp, originally cost about 1 million US dollars, the teaser entry level, which ballooned in price over time to $1.8 million, then to $2.4 million with added HP. This car is for deep pockets, and egomania "look at me"......

    I just don't see the point in ownership. I appreciate it from an engineering point of view. £££££ per year on insurance and servicing plus the veyron really doesn't hold its value. I could get just as much fun in a rented Fiat 500.

      Robert Lloyd no to mention the extend of warranty will cost more than that.You will need to buy a whole new package deal from Bugatti every 5 years.

    • @scd
      @scd  8 лет назад

      It was always be special and unique IMO - nothing is like it, yes 1000 bhp road cars are more common nowadays, but nothing that offers the same level of comfort and that monstrous top speed!

    • @mountainportraits2770
      @mountainportraits2770 8 лет назад

      i mean looking at the price they go for, car dealers down here are full of Veyrons and those who can afford them seem to get an Aventador, Koenigsegg or La Ferrari.... idk, i used to be impressed by the Veyron especially during my time at Volkswagen we were really impressed but technology changed a lot. Still hope that the new Bugatti will set the bar high as the Veyron did back then .

      @Tippotipo 8 лет назад

      If you think about it, Veyron is the first 1000+hp serial production car in the history of automobile having influenced the world of supercars at the times other manufacturers thought such car was impossible.

      Koenigseggs don't have proven top speeds, for all we know they make up their top speeds, Koenigsegg claim their cars are faster than they actually are

    I can empathize with this poor bastid. Fans; sometimes just go away; I don't vant to be bothered. Greta Garbo Syndrome: "I chust vant to be alone".
    Bullcrap.
    I got the first Nissan GT-R out of my local dealer in the Dallas area on 29 Aug 08 for only $15k over list at $71,900, and even almost 8 years later I get lots of attention when I drive it to the local grocer. Unfortunately, it's more of guy magnet than a babe magnet by about 100:1. Oh, well, after four divorces in my first 40 years at age 75, I don't much care; no longer trolling for nookie.
    At least I got to drive mine on the COTA track courtesy of NISMO Performance Academy in June 2015 [full-screen, headphones, volume max].

    And I still enjoy talking about my car with anyone who asks.

      Only someone incredibly immature would compare a Veyron to what's basically a glorified Lotus (a very fast one, but still a essentially a Lotus).

    Veyrons are the most overrated cars tbh ofc I would love to own one but there are far better cars to drive. Veyrons are just for streight line speed, there are other supercars that are great on tracks and when it comes to top speed
