  • Mike takes the Lancair 320 "Pinkie" to Salt Lake City, but some unpredictable events lead to a little bit of adventuring.
The Lancair 320 has an IO-320 fuel injected 160hp engine. It flies at speeds of 200+ mph sipping 7gph and there is a little surprise at the end of the video for those who love this type of airplane.
The airplane is actually now for sale, if you watch the video you'll see my contact info and the asking price.

One of the most affordable planes to own, considering its speed 200mph and fuel consumption at 7gph.

Too many pilots out there should be nowhere near a 200-knot plane.

my opinion on that it doesn't matter how fast it goes at altitude, it's really about approach and departure speeds, close to the ground and other aircraft that can make things challenging to stay ahead of the airplane. A lot of these fast little airplanes still have relatively slow speeds in the pattern. The lancair 320 is fast, but you're still going to land at airspeeds comparable to bonanzas and light twins.
