What's a normal landing and take off looking like with a Diamond DA-20?
I've flown into that airport. I bought a 182 in Phoenix. After I dropped off a friend in Albuquerque, I headed east. The weather got bad at Cline's Corner and I started picking up ice. I went back to Moriarty and waited. Later that day, I took another shot but again started picking up ice. Back to Moriarty. The next day the weather was better and I headed out on my way.

I hope you know that Cessna is not a Mooney. If not you have no business buying any plane.
Such a pleasant comment
@@trueairspeed130 You are welcome. Accuracy in Aviation equals safety. I will be unpleasant if it keeps people from getting killed from ignorance. I am a professional pilot. Hope you are not too triggered my friend. Have a nice day.
This is a plan's built kit plane that originally flew in 1970. Plans and parts were (are) sold. It is EAB experimental amateur_built plane. There are many biplane both plans built and kit models, 40 years ago. Not as popular today as different kirs now are much more complete and easier to build. Other similar planes are the Starduster 2, great lakes, EAA bi-plane. There are many. Smaller bi-planes like Pitts were popular.
spot on
Knuck96 is right. I was thinking stardust or 2 which looks very similar
👍
Idk the name but it's beautiful
I think you can find the name in the commnets
Nevada AFB
Actually this is Kirtland afb Albuquerque international, I think he was just passing through
The jet glider is CarolAnn Garratt.
👍
The biplane is a Marquart Charger.
I had never heard of it.
Marquart Charger

Cute bird. What is the price? Where can I get one? 👍👍
Under contract
F-35 is more noisier.
No doubt
Everyone gangster till the wings come off..😮
Ok
Most J models have an IO-360-A3B6D engine, which produces 200 HP. What engine does this one have that produces 225 HP?
It has Firewall Forward LLC stc called horsepower plus, higher compression
Just a bummer you didn’t get a flight in her! You have the makings of such a unique personal log book. The right owner is out there.
true, but sometimes it all works out in the end.
@@trueairspeed130 I think it already has! You learned something and exposed an amazing aircraft to thousands of more people.
Insane
Indeed
I owned a 1984 M20J. The most magnificent and expensive years of my life.
how long ago?
Hey that's Mark Wilson! He's a great pilot! Did he ever tell you about the impossible turn he did? Miss Blu is a fine flying gyro 😊
Impossible turns is what gyrocopters are designed for
It has decent paint and interior as you mentioned, how many hours on the airframe ? Hours on the prop ? Does it have all its logbooks ? You’re 300 past overhaul but, of course, the 2000hr tbo is just a suggestion. Any metal in the oil filter ?, what are the compression readings on the cylinders ? Does it have a IO360 or IO320 ? Is out of annual ? Ton of questions still need answered before I could begin to think of a figure. It looks like it’d be worth pursuing though.
I did end up buying it and I will tell you all about it in my next video.
@@trueairspeed130 Cool 👍 Can’t wait for the vid
Wild guess but looks like a Cavalon ?
Looks like it
The Mooney is a nice Aircraft and right now you have the best time yet to go out and look around
I will look around ,thanks.
Prebuy inspection
I will be posting a follow up video soon now that Pinkie is gone.
buy the plane
Ok
I can see the wings flex, don't do that. Too much load!!!
Bob has been doing this for years he’s very knowledgeable but thanks for being on the look out
Perfectly normal for all planes. Even fighter jets wings flex a lot more than you would think was safe. But obviously they are designed to.
So, you built a U2.
👍
BRS would be a good idea…
Not enough room left in fuselage
3000ft per minute....? Less than a mile per minute is under 60mph if im not mistaken.
Not sure about the calculation but possibly
Thats your airplane bro😊sign the dotted line
👍
No
Ok
Check your electric bill. Those things send the meter spinning like a prop
in think he was using a generator gas powered

Not sure I understand
Amazing bird! Beautiful!
It really is!
Ummm if it has jets I'm pretty sure that makes it NOT a glider ...
Technically a motorglider
beautiful
Thank you! 😊
That auction house does a nice job representing the aircraft for sale. BUT they charge a buyer premium.
I didn’t check to see how much the premium is but typically it’s 5%, like many auctions you factor it in to your bidding.
@@trueairspeed130 I haven’t had any luck with them yet! But they are a great team. Lisa reaches out each time I show interest in a plane. Great person with great insight on the business of buying and selling planes.
Can anyone tell me which spar is used on this wing?
I’ll try and find out
Always remember to have a friend who’s a A&PI
I do, but not always available to travel if seller unwilling to fly airplane to him.
The Cessna 150s are up there despite the year of them and TTAF and Who did the Engine overhaul and more importantly any damage history and original avionics. Paint and interior.
Good to know
Cash buyers is the best thing ever
Interested to know if any sellers have financed their planes to the buyers
At 20 gal per hour pr engine
about right
Now if they made the engines retractable
I have seen one with twin retractable engines.
I wish all engine gauges were up high like that. Mine are at the bottom and hard to glance quickly
Good point
Personally I don’t see the need for extended tanks or speed brakes on a J model. Mooneys slow down just fine and who wants to fly for 9 hours straight?
ah ha, but you do want extended tanks if you want to cross some bodies of water and have plenty of reserves. Not saying you will be flying that long, unless unforeseen diversions. As for speed brakes, I'm with you, probably don't need them, and if on final doing a go around, better remember to pop them back down. I might never use them
Mooneys are fun and fast little airplanes.
I agree.
