what i love is how in solstheim you hear the original happy morrowind music and it gets you nostalgic and then the game hits you with the new songs and you realize just how truly dark and sad Dragonborn dlc is
This song, especially the first bit with the hollow winds, is just so... sad. Mournful. It really captures the hauntingly beautiful visage of a tormented land.
It’s like you can hear the resonant souls of those stamped out by the eruption of red mountain. All their hopes, dreams, ideals. You can hear their pride, standing even as nature reclaims the ruins of their culture. The echoes of the hopeful and the mournful echoing through the lands.
This is sad but in a beautiful kind if way. Like mourning someone or people. Towards the end it seems like it's a lighter note. Like you know there are brighter days ahead.
makes sense for the dark elves. their homes were destroyed and their lands taken over by the argonians, and yet they find the strength to continue life in other places.
well they WERE slavers. they also treated other species even more poorly than the aldmeri dominion until the collapse of their home...such destruction quickly humbles the minds of those believing themselves to be so loved by the gods.
plus for all we know the collapse of the mountain could've been caused by azura to teach them a lesson. it wouldn't have been the first time she used red mountain to punish her peoples wrongdoings.
Vivec could have done something about the meteor looming over his city. He could have. But no. He used it to threaten the people of Morrowind should they ever turn on him. Azura had nothing to do with it, other than making you destroy the heart of Lorkhan. Vivec had so much time to prevent a terrible thing from happening to Red Mountain, but his ego got in the way.

@@ianbaker672 I know this comment is hella old, but House Redoran managed to push back the Argonians to black marsh.
Modern composers should follow examples like this.
Doing it now.
Taking a long walk along the coastal line
