It's worth noting that Midnight Clock shuffles both the hand and graveyard into the library before drawing 7. It didn't matter this time, but could be key in future games.
But still the other goblin deck was at a stronger place and the first goblin deck had a creature to kill the problem of the blue player but instead let's feild wipe and allow the blue deck to have the strongerest position
As an Azami player, this game actually hurt my soul. How does someone draw so many cards yet do so little? How do you not win the game with a card that combos with your commander? I'm simply in awe.
he had patron wizard and never used it, when he had plenty of good opportunity, he instead wasted good counterspell from his hand, which would have gave him the win after playing mind over matter
Then you might want to check out the RUclips channel "Quest for the Janklord", if you haven't already. They make videos with very high production value and beautiful, beautiful jank.
It could have but remember it would have also drawn a lot of aggro if he did. I think he sometimes forgot, because there were some spells I personally would have definitly countered, but countering like everything is only a good idea if you are in a position where you cant be stopped anymore.
@@WiiTara yep. I think it is often the smart move to let powerful stuff slide in order to not draw hate. Especially when you draw extra cards when you do. However this may have been in excess
strange to see Chris play patron Wizard early and never use it to Force Spike things when he otherwise could've. Perhaps he was trying to avoid becoming Archenemy early on?
tell me about it. He tapped it when andrew played krenkos command but then the spell still went off and he untapped it again after re watching the video honestly there weren't many times when chris could've used the patron wizard effectively. the vast majority of spells that were cast their owners still had enough mana up that even tapping his whole board wouldn't have been enough
I recently builded Kadena (I played casual non edh with morphs for a while and when kadena came out, it just was asking me to build a edh deck) It's one of my favorite decks to play. Stop telling everyone to play it, I like to play different decks ;)
unless im mistaken, mudstahh had two open mana when chris flusterstormed, couldn't he have used his patron wizard twice to counter the spell and saved his mana for his combo?
Correct me if I’m wrong. But did the mono blue player have a card that turns his wizards into counterspells and allow him to discard cards to untap his wizards to then continue countering spell or just I don’t know draw your deck and win the game. However instead of doing this decided to pass the turn. Bro this hurts to watch.
The Azami deck is surprising. I haven't seen one draw their entire deck and not win that turn. Several wizard abilities were underutilized, but adding one Eldrazi shuffle titan would have solved all of his problems. I run a mono blue Sphinx deck that used that very same combo with Mind over Matter and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. I can cycle through my whole deck and drop every sphinx in the deck on the field and pitch the titan to shuffle the yard back and start over with nothing but counters and support.
At 7:37, the clock shuffles his graveyard and his hand to his library, then draw :) Not much in the graveyard thought... So shouldn't have any influence.
Why did Chris just pass after the mind over matter? Everyone was tapped put and he had the ability to draw his deck and make mana equal to the number of cards in his hand basically. Like draw 70 and then discard to make mana to cast oracle or lab man etc. Strange for sure
I have a Kadena deck and she is amazing. I built her for $100 and that is honestly all you really need for her to be quite threatening. Just make sure to have other effects that draw you cards (guardian project and beast whisperer are great in the deck) as you don't want the deck to solely hinge on Kadena for it to work.
Kadena is a really powerful and poorly understood deck to build. I hope though in the future more support is printed because all kadena decks are basically the same.
@@piquelle2774 I mean, tbf, there's only certain ways to build morph/manifest decks. I love my Kadena deck as well. She wins by swinging wide or the infinite card draw engine with Lab Man.
You can't respond to a creature being morphed, but you can respond to their ability going on the stack from when they do morph iirc. I might be wrong though.
For some reason my Kadena deck ALWAYS performs well. And that on a low budget (20 euros wordt of upgrades). i think it's cuz most things on board are no big threats at first glimpse. It also kind of plays like a control deck and I rly have to time my morphs and manage mana really well. I think it is one of my more difficult decks to pilot.
11:00 I have an Azami deck and this was absolutely agonizing to watch. Is he not running a lab man effect? He clearly knows what mind over matter does, I saw him use it's untap effect for mana later in the game. "Discard a card: You may tap OR UNTAP target ARTIFACT, creature, OR LAND." He had all the mana he needed to win that turn, just dig for lab man/Jace/Thassa's oracle and discard to untap for counter spells as needed with mind over matter, not to mention patron wizard in play as well. Maybe he was intentionally not winning with lab man because he was on camera? I just find it hard to believe a dude who is running mana drain, mind over matter, mox diamond, time spiral, etc. isn't running a lab man effect. Plus he also singleton rifted something when he had enough cards to untap mana crypt with mind over matter to overload it. Really strange play pattern, was he going easy on them?
I don't know why he put it in the deck if it's not for using it! I hate the card especially in multiplayer. If you're the player to the right, you're screwed. Better taking it out completly ;)
Derek could of won the game. Morphing thousand winds on his main phase was such a bad plan. He should of waited till Andrew took out Chris. Cuz Andrew's board would of been tapped, and there no doubt Mark was gonna swing to Andrew with a few creatures. That would of left Derek with all the power~

Yes but Azami is pretty spicy with crypt and mox diamond though!

I think this is the first time I see someone resolving a Mind Over Matter engine and not winning...
I've given a player literal instructions on how to win via mind over matter they rifted instead and died to a 1/1 haste card instead 🤨
