I've seen some dealers in the UK do a 12 month warranty on a flying spur that has a sticker of £24k. After the 12 months it could be worth more if (very) expensive repairs are done under that warranty.
Great video series. I have been thinking of buying a used Bentley or Rolls Royce for years now and I eagerly await your findings on if it is a money pit or if it is somewhat reasonable. It will obviously vary car to car as well. I will not be able to afford one as flawless as yours however so that also means the mileage would be higher and more can go wrong. Good luck!
John, obviously I totally agree that this is a great buy. It definitely isn't a car to buy and abuse but if you have room and respect the power and approach it with mechanical sympathy I have found it to be wonderfully reliable. Much more so than my old turbo R. For the veneers I find climate control is the key. Living in the Midwest it can be trick to keep them from cracking. Cheers!
Sadly any drive yet, but thought of the genius idea of doing an engine swap with a crown Vic interceptor (don't know name of engine) to help with fuel economy as well as maintenance costs. Also checked the government fuel economy site or whatever it is and it says that you spend about $10000 more in fuel than the average car!
I am strongly considering picking up an arnage at some point but my biggest concern is the camshaft issues I have read about that, from my understanding, impact all 6.75 engines older than 2007. Is this a rare issue that only effects some engines (like the ims bearing issue certain 991s have) or is it just a matter of time until an arnage suffers this failure. It seems most owners don't ever have this problem which leads me to believe its simply horror stories spread across the internet from a small portion of vehicles which are effected
Not only did it not happen to me, but my experienced Bentley specialist said he never dealt with that in his 20+ years working on Bentleys. It's the same Internet story recirculating over and over again.. I don't buy into that myth.
The Arnage T just seems a bit more sporty and fun to drive. The RR's are a bit more expensive and there are fewer to choose from. I do love the Silver Seraph, though.
It is a prestigious motorcar regardless of age 13 or 14 year old car still has people turning there heads looking. Not just a car but a representation. Being in America you be paying half then other country's for cost of car. I like to know about fuel cost, Dr Google says it has a V8 and twice the normal car fuel tank.
Hey Josh,....just ran across your vids while surfing YT for how to open & replace the battery in my 2003 Arnage R key fob. Thanks for the instruction,...Bentley would've charged $50 to do that! :-0 Congrats on your Arnage T,... LOVE these cars!,...they are an emotional experience, just bought my Arnage R back in Dec. as my Christmas present/Dream Car,....awesome piece of machinery,...Magnolia white w/Magnolia leather that still smells new only 23,000 miles when purchased. Unfortunatley I failed to place the left hand battery(accessories) on trickle charge and it bled down to .02 Volts(NOT GOOD) so now doesn't want to charge back up,...even after driving it the other day. Guess it's a requirement to trickle charge when ca is sitting for any extended period of time. Gotta run for now,...great seeing you document your car from the day it rolled off the transport truck,...very cool,...will be in touch Josh, Tim, Hurricane Alley(FL) ps, gotta go batten down the hatches,....here come Hermine! :-0
Hi Tim! I don't see a lot of white Arnages, I'm sure it's a beautiful car. I plan to make more how-to videos as I learn more about these cars. Stay in touch... and stay safe!
Hey Josh,...just checked out your 1st 500 mile Trip in the Arnage T video,...pretty cool,...and glad it was an issue free trip, other than the stupid lady screaming out her window at you because she's a whack-job! I did change my oil w/filter myself when I first got the car and topped off other fluids, hydraulic brake reservoir, anti-freeze reservoirs and brake fluid,...all easy stuff. Also noticed a small amount of antifreeze on the garage floor so removed the top cowling and found the culprit right away,...just a loose clamp coming from the right reservoir. Good time to tighten every fitting I could get to while I had access. Next thing on the preventative maintenance agenda is to change all the air filters, turbo intakes and Pollen filters which are all included with the 30K mile Service Kit from Flying Spares($613.10 including VAT). Haven't bought anything from them yet, but if you can avoid Dealerships I guess it's a good thing. Need to call Bentley of Atlanta or Tampa to see what the parts would cost to ship to my door or if they even do that at all. I'll be checking out your vids,...glad you're having a good time with those and ENJOYING your car,...all the best,...Tim
Oh yeah, forgot to mention I did replace the left battery(Duracell)that I failed to keep on the trickle charger. It was within the warranty so they replaced it for free,...all I did was pick up the battery and carefully installed it using jumper cables to connect the new battery to the terminal connectors on old battery before disconnecting the terminals,...after removing the old battery being careful not to disturb the jumper cables on the terminals I then slid the new battery in place and connected terminals, positive first then negative. If you lose enough current or disconnect the battery I was told the power windows will no longer function and will have to be re-coded by Bentley(OUTCH!) I dodged a bullet on that one :-0
Tim Richey great! I've already made a couple purchases from Flying Spares. Also, I believe you can get the cabin filters from BMW for a bit cheaper. I am going to be researching that and posting a video about it at some point.
Good for you. Years ago a friend bought a new Bentley Continental and kept it only for about a year. Spent more time being repaired than on the road. Hopefully yours will be better.
This over a new civic Type r, Odyssey, Porsche, and Truck anyday. I think the Bentley will definitely get you laid that some girl might be mistakenly called the arnage a Roll Royce LoL
Yeah, I'll be following this trek -Good luck Josh!

Awesome score can't wait to see this video series subbed .. oh and good luck you're a braver man then most ;-)

I certainly hope you get one! So far the experience has been fantastic!

Awesome cause I'm in the market for one as well. I'll be watching for your results
Thanks for watching, Michael. So far it's been a great car!
And congratulations. I really hope this works out. I have a W126, W220, and a Honda Legend. Would love an Arnage
That is a great collection of cars!
Came here via Dougs column, Subscribed, nice going.
That Doug... he's the best

It for sure almost ruined my life. $69,000 purchase price and $30,000 in the first 6 months. Sold it for $52,000 just to end the pain.
how old was it, and what were those costs associated with?
Did anyone crack Bentley software for diagnostics and integration of new components? It can't be like cracking Enigma.
What are you got to say about Doug’s new video on your car? He doesn’t Basha quite as much as I would think.
I think Doug secretly loves these cars!
Yes! I am looking forward to this

Is there a reason why you didn't do the silver seraph ?? I'm looking to get a rolls seraph or the arnage what's your thoughts after looking ??

Can't wait to see more vids
What was the mileage and the cost ??
It had just under 30k miles. I will post a video soon that explains all the financials.
ok sweet thanks and sorry on asking just wanting to know more cause more info helps and thanks again and can't wait for the next one :)

I’m looking for one…. A later model

Subscribed =) Thanks. Lovely car this.
Thanks!
more videos-nice quality of video i like:)
how much did it cost to fill ☝ a ⛽ tank? Bentleys will always depreciate after 10 years At least
So, is it still on the road? Get your first "routine (recommended) service" bill yet?
Yep, still on the road and running like a champ. All of the service bills are going to be covered in this video series.
Good for you. Years ago a friend bought a new Bentley Continental and kept it only for about a year. Spent more time being repaired than on the road. Hopefully yours will be better.
Should I buy a 2008 BMW 760li Individual with every factory option...?
Yes. If you have the means, drive a car you are passionate about.
I want 2006 Bentley I like the newer sportier design and it's coming down in price
need more updates! how's the Bentley?
I will be posting a 6-month "report card" within a week.
Subscribed. I like to think it's pronounced "Bent-lay Ar-nah-hey"
I think that's just too classy for me! :)
Awesome choice #Bentley 🇬🇧🇯🇪😄👏👌
This over a new civic Type r, Odyssey, Porsche, and Truck anyday. I think the Bentley will definitely get you laid that some girl might be mistakenly called the arnage a Roll Royce LoL
Top 😉
