  • Here ya go toro. I hope you like watching me flail around helplessly in that first room.
    Some suggestions:
-Make the game a bit brighter
    -Make the lights less overwhelming
-Add ducking or something similar (I generally like being able to spam crouching or ducking in videogames as a small bit of self-expression; as you can see, I used "dancing" in its stead)
-I would personally enjoy more midair movement options/control (eg dashing, stalling, double jumping), but if that's not what you want for puppetmaster then that's ok
-Add some coyote time (or buff the existing coyote time)
-Allow jumps to be buffered some frames in advance (or increase the existing buffer). This and coyote time will make the platforming feel more responsive and fair.
-Not being able to turn around easily once you've committed to a jump is actually very fun, but can make the platforming a little unforgiving
-Perhaps shrink the hitbox a bit; it's frustrating to bump a piece of geometry that doesn't look like it touched debug dude. This would also make it easier to judge whether you can make a jump
-Perhaps some more ground movement options to make walking across flat surfaces less of a drag
-I really love the wall jump speed boost thing, it reminds me of fancy pants. Perhaps emphasize such movement a bit more
-Maybe make scaling walls a little faster.
HOWEVER, I understand that this moveset is designed to accommodate combat, so take my suggestions with a grain of salt if they'd conflict with your vision for the combat
Overall, the puppet feels nimble and light in the air, but very dull and slow on the ground. On the ground, I would recommend incorporating some way to gain optional speed. For example, Super Metroid allows you to get a ridiculous amount of speed by running. Hollow Knight lets you dash or super dash. Celeste (okay i know i know but hear me out) allows wavedashing or hyperdashing to reward skilled players with massive speed boosts. Especially in a bossfight; If there are no slopes around, the puppet has no way of gaining any significant speed.
Sorry this is so long lol, I really hope these suggestions are helpful!
