Congrats! I think the sound the ranger made could have been a high action-speed quick-fire or maybe an explosion bottle like mentioned in a previous comment.
can i ask why u run cut throat and rupture in highroller not as a critiscm or anyth because im trying to understand rogue better so would be nice to know why some people prefer this playstyle rather than hide which i think has alot more outplay potential. Feel free to correct me.
It’s just from playing Rogue for an obscene amount of time exclusively. Creep gives me the ‘rogue’ feeling. Rupture adds onto Damage over Time of course. Cutthroat is massively useful vs all classes albeit some more than others. Cutthroat destroys Phantomize Warlocks - delays Second Wind, Sprint Fighters - scares the hell out of Wizards and causes real life panic - delays a shout on a Barbarian - cancels Ranger’s shotgun/tripleshot - delays Druid’s from shapeshifting - blocks other Rogues abilities. Simply - I find the game most fun this way. And you should always play for having the most fun you can have. Slayers looks REALLY good right now though
The editing is the funniest thing. Btw, you're the 1st rogue I've seen not use dagger mastery, so thats new. Is it preference, or jokester is just better? I'm guessing you can't remove thrust since pdr is meta that's why im asking, and being the poisoned king there is no way you will go without poisoned weapons. Edit: I've another reply from you, is it because you have to reach 15 magic power?
thanks for the kind words and reaching out! There’s a comment somewhere, maybe on this video on why I take thrust. It’s a bit of a min-max thing. In the time I was recording this, 30% resulted in a larger damage increase against max PDR. Currently, I think Dagger Mastery is better unless you’re taking two daggers - after the 5% reduction on flat dagger penetration. 25% is still better dagger mastery, but now it’s even less effective against every other type of build. My assumption is that Dagger Mastery is now once again the better pick. I always take jokester, yes for the 15MP. I basically consider it Rogue being 2 power levels higher than everyone else base, in a perfectly balanced game.
@@Wiingo yes. it’s not very ideal for scaling. at 15 magic power (13 + 2 from jokester) 5 stacks max Magic Resistance affects base damage only. So with 20% magic resist it would look like 1.8/3.6/5.4/7.2/9 dps at 5 stacks It’s strong because you actually reset the poison timer each time you land a hit, resulting in damage not appearing on paper. Plus, rupture is also dealing 4dps, affected by PDR. Say 20% again. With a 20% MDR 20% PDR enemy, that first hit alone with an epic hand crossbow and no + additional damage on gloves or weapons. 18 rupture damage, 18.4 crossbow damage, 9 magical damage. @@RatRoggae Thx for the repply , in gear you show 1+ helmet , 1+ cape , +1 each ring (+2) unless some of the gear is rong you are using only +4 true. I have been looking at the auction house and the only gear that can get +1 true magic are : rings , pendant , cape and helmet. Making only 5+ true magic possible and since the damage only goes up by 0,5 only +4 true magic is effective. So according to my calculations only 6 damage over 4 second is posible for now. I tried to makes this go up by using maigc power gear , and magic damage gear (this should work according to the name but dosent)
@@walterbenegas4567 do not forget the necklace. The name of it is Phoenix Choker. If you sort by True Magical Damage in the marketplace you won’t see it, you need to search by name or by Static Attribute. Magic Power Bonus does affect your poison damage, but that percentage is divided over 4 seconds. So if you have 25% magic power bonus, you will have 5 damage over 4 seconds per stack. To the best of my knowledge, this would never be worth it. You could subtract the magic power bonus and add HP, dexterity or agility. Stick with 13 magic power to reach a net magic power bonus of 0%.
I have a question? My understanding of the Thrust perk is that it does not remove flat -20% pdr, so even if someone is capped at 70% pdr, thrust will increase your damage by only 14% and lower the players prd the more useless this perks gets, so in my understanding it is never worth taking over dagger mastery and yet you play it. So am I missing something, is my math wrong?
your math is exactly correct. 20% off the armor rating. If we're going off the percentages, the math would be a 14% damage increase. Dagger Mastery does beat out Thrust by 1%. I usually always choose DM over Thrust and prefer it in Normals right now. Then they added 10% armor penetration to all daggers for a total of 30%, (40% w/ 2 daggers). In this case, you would have a 21%(28%) damage increase to a PDR capped player. With the new patch, (5% nerf on Rondel and Stiletto) the total percent will be 25/35. (17.5%/24.5%). And this is not including any armor penetration from other sources. My thought on it was - 30% is essentially having Cutthroat, Rupture and old Weakpoint at the same time. I expect to have no value on it versus squishier classes. I know one thing though.. I have lost to many Clerics in solos and that perk will give me the best chance against a good solo PDR or Divine Protection Cleric. I'll still get some damage when they're not capped. So it's more me planning for the worst situation. With the new balance to daggers though - I think Dagger Mastery reigns supreme for sure.
@@RatRoggae Thank you for your answer. I just took the calculator and did the math on a 100 damage test sample and realized that I was wrong. 100 + 15 from DM reduced by 70% PDR leaves me with 34,5 damage. But 100 damage against 70% pdr reduced by 20% from thrust to 56% pdr will do 44 damage. So it is worth it against high pdr. I was wrong and I apologize. Hopefully this time my math is correct :DD
This math is great and really helped me understand armor pen better. In my own calculations of Weak point vs Rupture I was calculating Rupture doing not damage up until about 40% pdr, and Weakpoint really only being better around 50%+ pdr (it starts to be really good at 60%+). This is assuming you do three hits with Weakpoint up (though I think you can get in 4-5 sometimes). However I was doing my calculations kind of like your first post and not your most recent, I was probably under valuing Weakpoint.
