@@sassydiva7821 you worked AT phantom for 30 years? Howard was v nice at the stage door as was hugh and Tom O’Leary. Did you work there when TJO was there? He was my first and favorite Phantom.
I’ve seen Ben, Howard, and Hugh, and Hugh was the best by far. The first moment he sings INSOLENT BOY drove the audience wild!. Howard had an elegance and natural Erik-ness. Which was beautiful to watch.
@@sassydiva7821 honestly I’ve seen Howard the most out of all the phantoms and he was a medium consistent phantom. He was far more dramatic in the beginning of his tenure vs the end. And hugh sometimes had too much bravado. I prefered Hugh’s voice in phantom but Howard’s voice as Prince Dereck in Swan Princess. And I’ll say this: Ben was def the least favorite. His phantom was like a frat bro.
Thank you for posting this. I was there for this performance just by accident, and it was so, so magical. I'm so happy to relive it through this video!
I feel silly. I read Ben Crawford's name as "Ben Lewis."😔 Still, nonetheless, he's fantastic! I'm glad he came!😄 I have to say that I've noticed that Howard McGillin has a timeless voice. He sounds like he's been transported from the Medieval Era to sing for us today.😍
A bit off topic, but something I want to share as a costumer. Cuffing your pants the way Hugh is doing will make your legs look shorter than they are. That light band of color makes it appear the legs end there. It's a definite "don't" unless you're playing a character that you want to appear much younger and don't care about height, such as an adult actor playing a high school student.
@@xpa-beads501 hugh is actually a lot shorter than Howard. Howard is like 6’2”. That’s why he looked so good in that Erik outfit. But Hugh’s height didn’t take away from his stage presence.
As much as i do admire Ben Crawford’s talent, i genuinely miss these other Phantoms. But i suspect all of us would take Michael Crawford always and forever if we had any say about it!
Honestly he was the weakest phantom not because his voice was bad but because he is not the phantom type. Lacked elegance and very frat bro-ish on stage even in costume. By the end of the show he’s mentally checked out and the audience could feel it
@@scotthamp384 yeah it's exactly as you just said. His voice was definitely strained the role definitely took its toll on him. Timothy Nolen who succeeded Michael Crawford was another Baritone who really had a hard go at it.
Howard was my Phantom!! I performance I will treasure all my life!
That’s Right!….Howard was the Best Phantom, we loved him and I KNOW I worked at Phantom for 30 yrs. 😊

Erik-ness. So well put! And true! Always thought he encapsulated the original character the best. ❤️
Hugh made me fall in love with Broadway
Hugh was too Dramatic…Howard was Haunting and Beautiful…after he sung Music of the Night you were in tears. I was sorry when he left the show.

These men are wonderful, but Michael Crawford was the best Phantom. He originated the character.
I can't believe they aren't there anymore what planet are we on... One without the phantom of the opera...stop....
Hugh adds the haunting voice of a phantom just like Michael Crawford did. My two favorites.
To hear Ben speak you expect one thing - and then this comes out. Well done all
They blend surprisingly well for a quartet of leading men!
I love this Song! Well done, my Angels of Music!
Notice how Ben sings "You alone can make OUR song take flight" instead of "my". He included all phantoms ❤
forever obsessed with hugh’s “let the dream begin” here 💞💗
Howard Mcgillin is also the vouce of Derek in swan princess ❤
I love them all, but Hugh has a special place in my heart 🥰🥰
I never knew I needed a Phantom quartet in my life, but here we are and it’s amazing ❤
The harmonies!!!! The harmonies!!!!
They're amazing! Such powerful voices.
Absolutely stunning!!!
Which one’s Ben Crawford?

I like the first line of Norm’s song. His voice is incredible🎉
Ahhh how much I love them all...
I love ben so much
This was such a stunning performance of this song😭🤩💕

Howard can do it TOMORROW!
Beautiful 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Love this!!
Howard McGillin should return the role

Why do the coolest things happened when you leave?
We been here since 1988 now what

interesting! i though he looked oddly short here (though tbf they’re all relatively tall so it might just be by comparison)
@@xpa-beads501 yep he is just shorter

1. It's his clothes not a *costume.*
2. Howard is massive. Easily over 6ft.

Michael was best
Norm is my only favorite of these guys
And how the hell is Howard the longest running on Broadway? He doesn't sound that good
Howard is kind of old nowadays at almost 70 years old. He's not in his prime anymore.
@@jixer1956 I don't like the way he sounded way back when, either
As much as I love Norm did you see any of his performances towards the end of his run. He was definitely not himself
Hugh and Ben are brilliant
@@rangerfan924 well, I don't know what you mean exactly, but being a baritone sure puts a strain on your vocal chords
