Sandeep S Singh's directorial debut film Safed, starring Meera Chopra and Abhay Verma is a love story between a widow and a transgender person. The film runs on ZEE5 and has been greatly appreciated for its strong performances and unique narrative. In an exclusive conversation on The Weekend Show now, Sandeep, Meera and Abhay discuss how they managed to make a strong film with a budget of Rs 50 lakh in Banaras.
Sandeep, who is known for his previous works like Mary Kom, Main Atal Hoon, Aligarh, Sarbjit and Jhund among others, speaks about being an 'outsider' in the industry. He talks about social media influencers like Urfi Javed and Orry Awtramani and why are they being popularised so much. He heaps praises on his childhood friend Ranbir Kapoor and calls his performance brilliant in the movie Animal.
Sandeep also talks about his friend Ankita Lokhande and says her heart never stopped beating for the late Sushant Singh Rajput. The producer-turned-director says whatever Ankita is revealing in #BiggBoss17 is straight from her heart.
