If there were an Emmy award for 'Best Emotionally Unhinged Character in a Television Series,' Sian Clifford (who portrays Fleabag's sister, Claire, brilliantly) would win the award hands down. Claire is such a deeply conflicted and hilariously neurotic train wreck that I would watch the show for her performances alone.
it's a funny breaking of the fourth wall moment -- aimed at the fact that the character of dad doesn't have a name/there is never a mention of his name
My impression of the scene where the stepmom forgets her soon-to-be husband's name is that he's basically another token in her life (evident in the way she introduced the others--deaf, lesbian, bisexual Syrian); only she's reduced him down so drastically to that particular supporting role that she cannot even recall his name. This show was a masterpiece; I don't genuinely think I've laughed so hard at a tv series...ever.

The priest knows when she's breaking the fourth wall because it shows that he's the only one who understands Fleabag completely. They're completely meant for each other which makes the ending that much more heartbreaking.
The scene where Fleabag sees a picture of Christ posing half naked and she just looks into the camera and says half afronted, half seductively, "Jesus!" 😂😂😂
Series 2 was SO GOOD, improvement on already great series 1- best moment for me was episode 3 as a whole, especially when she dropped the trophy lool DEAD
Such a fantastic cast. I think more than 6 characters have been my favourites at one time or another between the 2 seasons, and the acting is incredible for all of it. I think Olivia Coleman’s simple “oh that’s 3 colours” backhander to Fleabag is SO good. Everyone has their own favourite moment which shows just how great the scriptwriting and acting truly is!
I find it funny, that no-one has commented on Claire’s husband...he is so vile and unlovable, but all he wants is love, I equally liked and despised him
That's when you realise how much of a genius Phoebe is. Claire's husband was terrible, yet we saw more of him and at the end we were all conflicted when his wife left him... I still hate him, but I also felt so bad for him
@@darhug1968a He was entirely undeserving of Claire and knew it but was too deeply flawed and emotionally powerless to change that dynamic. He also knew on her announcement he'd never do nearly as well romantically ever again, fully aware his connection to her was the only thing good about his life

There was nothing to like about the guy. Almost all vile, unlovable people are pitiful and needy when they lose and play for sympathy. Phoebe Weller -Bridge is a national treasure. Gifted beyond belief, not only is she a very talented script-writer, she is a superb physical comedian. The scene when Fleabag drops the ultra-expensive glass award is in the same league of vintage Laurel And Hardy. Her fourth wall peeks at the camera is a homage to Oliver Hardy. So glad you included Claire's hair and the pencil comment because I genuinely FALL OFF MY CHAIR every time. Honestly how can anything be so perfect as this show?
In the UK sitcoms are written by individuals or just a couple of people and they only run for a few episodes and only a few series, compared to the US where there are teams of writers. There are pros and cons for both, the UK approach allows shows to go out on a high and not milked to death and eventually dropped when people have stopped watching.
Fun fact - Andrew Scott actually took PWB to the quacker meeting when they had a meetup and PWB pitched the character of the Hot Priest to him (which she wrote specially for Andrew). Apparently, it was empty at that point and they sat there and discussed the ideas for the show. And then she included it in the script.
I don't suppose you actually mean "Quaker," do you? Quackers are ducks; Quakers are members of the Religious Society of Friends, founded in England in the 17th century by George Fox. THAT's a "fun fact."
@@joewilson9962 Thank you for taking your time and bringing attention to my silly mistake. Not a native speaker here and English orthography does tend to be tricky at times.
In season 1, there's no best scene than the one in the bathroom when she gets in the bathroom with a knife and Harry loses it all. My sister and I laughed so hard that my jaw was sore afterwards.
'Harry''s acting makes that scene, because it's so straight and full on horrified. That and how he keeps saying he's OK then breaking down crying again.

This show is 100% the best thing to happen in tv. The dialogue, the characters and the cast are amazing I can’t get enough of this show
The whole season 2 are the best bits
"My priest is here. And he really needs some guidance."
Can't get over this line. :D :D
I actually cried laughing when this happened, it is my most favourite scene in the entire 2 seasons.
The timing is perfection "ooh that's he-".
It's actually 3 colours
shantanu panda it’s the way she delivers that line😂
He also knew on her announcement he'd never do nearly as well romantically ever again, fully aware his connection to her was the only thing good about his life
@@baarrbarella I understand your point but for me there was no conflict. They were so mismatched I always felt it was just a matter of time. All she had to do was finally get mad enough and that would be the end. It might not have been as it turned out to be in the series - it could easily have been later instead. But my sense was at some point she wouldn't be able to take his selfish whiny insipidness anymore and would vamoose.
There was nothing to like about the guy. Almost all vile, unlovable people are pitiful and needy when they lose and play for sympathy. They'd turn around back to their old self in an instant as soon as they feel stronger. Good luck to you if you feel compassion for these types. They'd use it over and over.
@@lakemichigan6598 SOME PEOPLE JUST HAVE SHIT PERSONALITIES, LOOK AT JAKE!! HE IS SO FUCKING CREEPY....BUT ITS NOT HIS FAULT. THE BASSOON IS HIS CRY FOR HELP
0:55 I absolutely love this look of her's at the camera. It's like her saying "here we go again" with just one look
I saw a fox today and it bought back fleabag feels and i started sobbing
H Clark ugh that is a mood, i miss the show so much
@@imogenedits me too! My cinema is showing the theatre show live so I'm going to that next month!!
Ah wow! Have fun! I saw it at the cinema last week and it was incredible! You’re going to love it!
@@imogenedits i cant wait!!!
I loovved when she sees the fox and full on to its face says "he went that way." Fox on a mission, go on haunting priestboy! [It's a good route to him becoming Moriarty, when you think on it. *g*]
-what's your favorite period film?
- Carrie.
🤣🤣
God I laughed so hard when she dropped the prize in Claire's office and also her first reaction Claire's tragic haircut was golden
Phoebe Weller -Bridge is a national treasure.
Gifted beyond belief, not only is she a very talented script-writer, she is a superb
physical comedian. The scene when Fleabag drops the ultra-expensive glass award
is in the same league of vintage Laurel And Hardy. Her fourth wall peeks at the
camera is a homage to Oliver Hardy.
Phoebe is in another league. To think she is only in her early 30s........
I was watching this with headphones in, and I gasped SO loudly when she dropped the glass award.
1:43. This joke brought to you by a multiple Emmy Award winning actress and writer.
“I look like a pencil” - gets me every time 😂
"We're not friends. We're sisters!"
Should be lesbians funnier
I loved the part when the banker looked after the cafe and then he said “The new guinea pig [hamster] is in with Hillary. They shared the cucumber, ok? Which was quite sweet”
A guines pig is 3 times bigger than a hamster
rosslynstone Yes, that’s part of the joke. The banker doesn’t know the difference. He thought he gifted her a guinea pig, but it was actually a hamster. But thanks for telling us what we already know.
Good video, but not enough hot priest moments! (Some of my favs is when he calls her out for talking to the camera)
Can anyone tell me why is that? I have always wanted to know this. Why he is the only one in the entire show who could tell that she is looking at the camera and why not others?
@@everythingisawesome2903 it's because he truly knows her and notices her
@@everythingisawesome2903 Because it was in the script.
everything is awesome I think it’s to symbolize that he sees her for who she truly is.
everything is awesome because he has superpowers
"Hello." "NO."
Whenever strangers try and make conversation with me lmao
All the characters are PHENOMENAL, but ive always loved her sister especially😂😂😂
her reaction shot after her godmother says 'I always call you darling!' is legendary
what I love about claire is that we know her. everyone has a claire in their life. phoebe is a genius, she doesn't have to make new characters, she gives us ones that we already know. similar to fleabag herself, we can all relate to her. doesn't matter who you are, what age you are, we're all fleabag, one way or another :)
Hands down, the best sitcom ever.
2:18 seeing a hot guy while you're in a hurry 😂
God the way Clair says no is perfect
“No matter what I do with my hair, it just keeps falling in this really chic way!” I love this fucking series so much!
2:24 Her expression...I died.
At 4:49, I just love it that Claire gives Fleabag a Look, like Fleabag is giving the audience~! Shows their connection
Part of me wants a season 3, but I know it could never live up to the perfection of season 2.
antonzap I agree, I think the ending was perfect
Believe me it's PWB we're talking about....she's a genius...she can outdo anything.....
rash I mean she’s said she wants to revisit fleabag when she’s 50! Which would be very interesting to see
I can't believe that I have only just started watching this programme it is the funniest thing I have watched in the last 5 maybe even 10 years
0:40 when someone tries to communicate with me
“ You look well, where have you been?”
“ Boots, it’s lovely there this time of the year.”
Then she looks at the camera. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I loved this and I don't even know how you decided what to include. Just about every frame of Season 2 could fit. It's absolutely flawless. So glad you included Claire's hair and the pencil comment because I genuinely FALL OFF MY CHAIR every time. Honestly how can anything be so perfect as this show?
"please be seated"
"and also with you"
HAHAHAHAHA. I WISH I HAD THE CONFIDENCE HAHAHA
I feel like i’m 80% Claire and 20% Fleabag. They way she recoils when the man starts talking to her is absolutely me
In the UK sitcoms are written by individuals or just a couple of people and they only run for a few episodes and only a few series, compared to the US where there are teams of writers. There are pros and cons for both, the UK approach allows shows to go out on a high and not milked to death and eventually dropped when people have stopped watching.
I don't know why the 'And Also with You' line makes me laugh so much!
“Boots, it’s lovely there this time of year” had me in stitches 😂😂😂
1:35 I love his face as he takes this in
What a gorgeous, hilarious creature.
Utterly brilliant writing and performances. Can’t wait to see what Phoebe does next.
@@Aloizza For a non-native English speaker you do quite well. It is said to be one of the most difficult to master.
I love it when they be like
"how's the ......?"
"it's good. it's really good. it's really really good"
"sounds like it's really good"
"it is"
I love psychotherapist scene! The reaction, the intro. Briliant 😂
I need season 3 seriously.
*SO MUCH TO ENJOY* ... must watch this whole double-series again.
this show influenced me in such a bad way. Anyways where can I get myself a hot priest?
Right?
Mangoo - ever seen a hot priest in real life - didn’t think so 🤭
@@velocitymg Fact. Still, going into churches after fleabag has been an adventure
Mangoo - lucky you...if you come across a hot female priest / priestess...might tempt me back into the fold😇
@@velocitymg Yeahhh I think we'll have to wait a long time for female priests... yay churches...! ugh.
I rewatched 1:28 so many times 😭 the internal struggle & lack of impulse control had me rolling
Fleabag Series 2 best bits is just the entirety of series 2.
Bro that haircut on Claire was horrifying, when I first saw the face shot I legit YELLED
« I look like a pencil » always makes my day. 😄😄
Damn Asif is fine.
Also Asif is played by Steve Ali, a Syrian refugee who lives with the comedian Deborah Frances-White. He sells silver jewellery on a website called Road to Damascus, they're really beautiful.
and bisexual 😍😍
He sure is 😍
too fine
2:09 My favourite bit from that whole season
