@shanza khan thats the very reasons why Ted had killed so many women because of his "charm". Theyre not even sex workers who need money to survive. You know what I mean

Gotta give mad credit to zac. He absolutely nailed this role. I wasnt sure when I first saw he was playing Bundy. But not I cannot imagine anyone else even coming close to such a perfect portrayal. His body language, mannerisms, speech patterns and facial expressions are hauntingly perfect. Even his eyes. tho acting, seem to tell a hidden story his contradictory to his words. Like theres so much darkness hidden behind his smile. Absolutely incredible.
I feel like this has killed any lack of seriousness that people may feel about Efron as an actor. Dude did an incredible job and blew me away with this one.
This movie is hands down one of the best movies I have ever seen! Absolutely brilliant!! And Zac Efron and Lily Collins CRUSHED IT!!!! They are exceptional actors and Zac Efron is no longer a Disney heartthrob but a serious actor
My friend Dahmer is also another movie where the Disney star Ross Lynch portrayed Jeffrey Dahmer and his acting is phenomenal. It just shows how well Disney stars can really act.
I was baffled by how Zac Effron portrays Bundy. Not only did he embody his charisma and manipulation but he nailed the character, facial expressions, mannerisms, etc. Hats off to him. Give him an Oscar
“Jerry” may not have been a real character, but there was a man named Hank that she met who did help her get over him and also married her. I’ve read her book...the second edition. She did insist on being involved in making sure it was accurate, saying “if they were going to tell MY story, then I was going to make sure it was right.” She never visited him in any prison, though she attended his trial for aggravated kidnapping of Carol DaRonch. To get all of Elizabeth’s side, as well as her daughter Molly’s (which was horrific for a child to experience) then I encourage everyone to read “The Phantom Prince”, second edition. It answers a lot of questions from her POV.
Marquez Wells : True. It happens all the time actually. But in general sesne, why make a movie of a killer as if to sensualize them? I can understand if in documentary form, but into a drama-like movie...it's just hmmmm......
Nicolas This one was to raise awareness. To his girlfriend, he was deemed incapable of those crimes, but the reveal emphasizes the duplicity that exists with a maniac of his caliber. There must have been over a dozen films based on Bundy. This one served as a cautionary tale. Serial killers sit at dinner tables, they stay at hotels, they eat at restaurants. They can be our friends, family members, neighbors or that popular guy at the party. He craved fame, he got infamy.
In the movie Zac Efron played the role so well that looking at him through out the movie you can actually see "This guy look like a serial killer and very evil". In my opinion there isn't anyone who could have played that role better than he did.
Everyone claims that Ted was charming, handsome and appeared innocent to the unknowing eye. Who better to play a charming, handsome, and seemingly innocent man then Mr. Zac Efron
I was so upset to hear that he did try to hurt Liz after how the movie portrayed him. It really was a hit of reality that he actually was emotionally and physically abusive but still- the fact he didn’t actually kill her while totally capable is very shocking.
G_GlasgowRFC then might as well watch documentaries. I am fine with Directors, writers, and screen writers needs to make some changes and adjustments if need be because telling a whole life story in just a span of 2 hrs is kinda difficult and with the creativity it makes the story more interesting and appealing to the viewers.
MarvelousMusic I don’t think so. They portrayed him as a likeable man deliberately in the movie because he came across like that to other people. Obviously I don’t like the actual man lol
hart 112 this was purposely done because ted bundy was actually this likeable to other people. he was getting a multitude of fan letters during his trails and quite a few marriage proposals. everyone knew what he was getting tried for, but they just liked ted bundy so much they didn’t believe it or even that they just didn’t care. he was charismatic, attractive, and had “a manner such that you had no choice but to trust him so fully and unconventionally.” by making him so likeable, it can really throw the audience for a loop because they *want* to like him, even though most of them know that it’s confirmed he’s killed over 30 women. it really puts it into perspective of what it was like to meet ted bundy and see him on trial when it *wasnt* confirmed he had killed so many innocent lives.
I was just broken all the time thinking about Liz's feeling. In the middle of this chao of murders, judgment and manipulation, my mind was focusing on this terrible love story, so heartbreaking... Falling in love with a man, seeing him as the beautifulest thing in the world, but suddenly.... oh gosh...
me too. she was just a single mother who thought he was this turning point in her life and it turns out he is one of the most notorious and violent serial killers. Liz deserved a lot better and was just at the wrong place and the wrong time :(
I thought that when Liz responded to his question of whether he had ever hurt her by revealing that she had given his name to the police, it was implying that there had been moments when she didn’t feel safe in their relationship, in line with what actually happened. Either way, I’m impressed with the performance and the writing of the movie!
The relationship portrayed is legit barely how it happened in real life. The relationship was contentious, Bundy had threatened her before and literally tried to kill her at one point. They were even dating around when they first started seeing each other. They didn't fall in love at first sight.
Just finished the film. Excellent. It show how you could be sleeping next to a killer and not even know it. I would recommend seeing other stuff on Bundy first to see how evil he was before seeing this film.
props to zacs performance and his bravery to do this role. And to lily as well, she sheds her modern day persona to embody that seventies mannerism quite well.
Zac played this roll extraordinary! It’s so hard to play a roll like this as you need to know the horrific background and things ted bundy did, and he delt with it so well, which is a lot of things a lot of actors can’t do when playing such a very risky roll. I cannot believe how well he did it!
@@petitcactusamer what kind of an argument is that? So we cant criticize 90% of movies because we cant "do better"? This movie wasted a great potential that it had with amazing actors.
@Mike Becker i agree. Leo has some srs quality work under his belt. Although Troy Bolton was pretty dang fabulous. Catch me if you can is def in my top 5 all time movies. Leo is incredible.
Zac Efron was amazing to say he did an incredible job would be an understatement. He most definitely deserves an award for this masterpiece of acting. The film is great
I saw this and zac actually made me want to feel bad for Ted, but then I remember the horrible things he did and I just can’t stop thinking about the amazing actor zac is
So he was pretty violent sexually. He choked her, and was pretty aggressive. It’s also her perspective and in an abusive relationship u tend to omit the abuse and hyper focus on the good. They honestly took liberties with things that didn’t matter to a larger framework. There is a scene where they have sex and he almost kills her by choking her. She ignores it. They rnt going to show every violent fight, but how she felt safe with someone who is killing many women. She didn’t see it.
I love how Zac was willing to almost completely destroy his perfect high school charming Troy Bolton image for the chance to be in a more serious dramatic film. Amazing acting, truly.
I highly recommend watching the documentary series “Conversations with a killer - The Ted Bundy Tapes” before you watch this movie. It makes the movie so much better and makes you appreciate Efron’s performance even more. The tapes are on Netflix!
True. I also feel that because Zac did such a good performance, Ted Bundy was ultimately romanticized (once again) in modern age. The tapes give the straight facts with no POV; therefore we see Ted for the true psychopath he is
At first, I didn't think Zac Efron was the right actor to portray Ted Bundy, but when I realized that women at that time found Bundy to be handsome and charming, I realized that Zac Efron is the perfect cast.
There is a sociopath right now that watches these murderous people get their own film and they think “ if I do the same and more, I can get my own film”. I honestly don’t know why Hollywood give these people movies.
Because it's interesting. Some people are fascinated by sociopaths and psychopaths, or even just serial killers in general. By that logic we shouldn't show anything because any little thing can trigger a disturbed individual.
Because one of the the things about bundy is he is extremely good looking. He used it as an advantage and zac efron is a very good looking man and that is why he was such a great choice for the role.
Jaquelin Espinal Just a curious question but wasnt he not diagnosed as a psychopath? I mean he definitely acts like one but i believe they came up with the conclusion that he was not a psychopath, but something else, dont know what though.
Charlize Theron as Aileen Wournos and now Zac Efron as Ted Bundy. Amazing actors, incredible performances, nailing the portrayal of some of the scariest killers who ever lived.
They should have dilated his pupils or something. that black pupil look is so significant, it's signature bundy. I also noticed it was absent. He had brown eyes that often looked black, especially in pictures. I have hazel eyes that turn the darkest brown sometimes, giving me the appearance of black pupils. my sister always called it bundy eyes growing up 😂
More things they left out: - Elizabeth told Bundy that she called the cops and gave his name while they were still in a relationship, she did not wait until they were broken up and they continued dating for a long time after that. - Ted confessed to Elizabeth before anyone else. - Elizabeth took Ted’s confession to the police and Bundy threatened to kill her family if the policed used that against him in court. - In the end the video says it is not clear if Elizabeth giving the authorities might be the reason he was captured. In reality it probably was because Elizabeth called the cops in BOTH states repetitively and caused the cops to not remove his name from suspect list even when they thought he was fine. Him being on the suspect list was the reason why cops searched his car and found the suspicious items that led to his first arrest. - She also provided them with Ted’s bills and detectives were able to see from those that Ted was actually in the states during times the murders occurred. This helped them to link Bundy to his other murders.
I love how this movie makes you think it's the usual wrongfully accused protagonist and try to make us side with him but we realize more and more he's the dangerous psychopath he's being accused of being
Haven’t seen it yet, but I will say that they got Bundy’s look down pat. In the last scene of the trailer, where Efron just looks menacingly at the camera, I got chills.
Expect Efron to receive some attention for this come awards season. Hollywood loves an actor who can escape stereotypes successfully. It's happened many times before even in the serial killer genre...look at what happened for Charlize Theron with her performance in Monster.
@@theamateur88 But you're wrong... Much like last year's Netflix movie "Roma", this film is also eligible at next year's Oscars. The loophole?? It screened on a very limited theater screen before being shown on Netflix...
well. we got the Academy vs Netflix feud (after everything that happened with Roma), but, if they were to nominate a netflix movie, I think after Rami Malek ACTUALLY WINNING for best actor as Freddie Mercury, Zac has a big big shot of at least a nomination. Not to be disrespectful to both Zac and Rami, but let's face it: even when both performances were spot on and almost uncanny, neither of them is Oscar worthy. Still wondering how Rami could've won even when I loved the movie
If Bundy DID act aggressive towards Liz while they were 2gether, did he ever behave that way with her daughter Molly? I mean the guy didn’t kill just full grown women he also killed a 12 YEAR OLD! 😡
I often wonder if Bundy's murders, especially that of the 12 year old, is why my dad had a tendency of being overprotective of my sisters and I. I was even born in 78 and the family lived in Florida until I was 14.
I’m into watching dramatic trials, I think it’s my odd myself, I was aware of bundys story and I still wanted to see this film. My only issue was idk how I’d stomach seeing the murders played out. So i am super happy to see that movie took a different direction and put respect on the woman that passed. Great tAke on this story.
@ShonQ Renee Ann Rule did change the name to help protect her identity, I believe. In the movie she is called Liz Kendall, and in other forms of media she is known as Meg Anders or Betch Archer, or some other name. The name changes were just to protect her privacy.
When Zac Efron wrote the words hacksaw on the window that was the most chilling scene in the movie it just let you know of how much of a killer he really was he pulled this role -off really good
Zac really captured Bundy's frightening charm that I almost forgot that it was Zac for a while. I've heard people get scared that they were actually sympathizing with Bundy. But I think that was part of his character and why it made it easier for him, it's because he is actually likable. And his likableness is what he used to do those unspeakable things. The movie may not have been totally accurate in terms of technicality, but Zac's portrayal, I think, was perfect.
my favourite part of the film and of zacs role as bundy was when he cries in court as the judge tells him he would’ve been a good lawyer. it really shows how bad he messed up and how he would’ve been successful if he didn’t kill those poor innocent girls.
Zac did a great job but sadly the movie wasnt enjoyable. Focused to much on him and his wifes relationship didnt portray him as the monster he was. It almost tried to make him a misunderstood "hero"
That’s literally the whole point of the movie, we are supposed to feel like Liz. She couldn’t believe that ted was doing all of these terrible things. The movie wasn’t supposed to be gory showing him kill people it was meant to tell the story of his girlfriend who lived through his trial
@@chrisnfdnsv but its the story of Ted Bundy. Not Liz! If it was titled Liz Bundy i wouldnt have watched it! It avoided his evil and was incorrect on several aspects like how he escaped jail. He lost 3 stone so he could fit through the gap in the ceiling he didnt carve a bigger hole

Have you watched the first movie? It by far exceeds this one.
I feel like this has killed any lack of seriousness that people may feel about Efron as an actor.
Dude did an incredible job and blew me away with this one.
Porco-Dio FIlm I agree. Never knew he was this good before the movie, didn’t know he was so versatile either.

It just shows how well Disney stars can really act.
okay I liked the movie... but if its one of the best you've ever seen I think you need to watch some more movies XD
Can I see it somewhere other than Netflix??
Ye Disney does produce some successful stars!!

I was baffled by how Zac Effron portrays Bundy. Not only did he embody his charisma and manipulation but he nailed the character, facial expressions, mannerisms, etc. Hats off to him. Give him an Oscar
He lost around 30 pounds to fit through that hole
I loved Zac’s performance, I caught myself thinking he was so sweet before I remembered the man he was playing lol
micronisa 13 that’s what I’m saying. I felt bad for him during the court hearing scene, but then I remembered he was playing ted bundy
Instead of a made up character like Jerry. They could have used the guy she marries even if they're not gonna follow the story
He killed this role SO good, that he had ME thinking he was innocent!
The Ted Bundy movie make me look at zac efron a different way
but why? why did they need to make a movie of him? Zac great. I dont mind him...but why make a killer even more famous? why? D;
Nicolas it’s not the first time they’ve made movies on killers
Marquez Wells : True. It happens all the time actually. But in general sesne, why make a movie of a killer as if to sensualize them? I can understand if in documentary form, but into a drama-like movie...it's just hmmmm......
Nicolas well it’s meant to be like that. It’s supposed to hit your emotions and I mean at the end of the day we all know he was evil and a killer
Zac needs an Oscar. Outstanding.
Zac looks a lot like Bundy, but doesn't sound like him at all.
He had a very distinctive accent tho

I was so upset to hear that he did try to hurt Liz after how the movie portrayed him. It really was a hit of reality that he actually was emotionally and physically abusive but still- the fact he didn’t actually kill her while totally capable is very shocking.
That's what annoys most about Hollywood...their obsession with changing "true stories".
Dexterose 125 this is a very fair point 👌🏻
Dexterose 125 usually they do that to make things more cinematic but they seemed to do the opposite this time
It’s not storytelling all the details it’s about telling the story it’s why it’s called BASED off the true story not ITS the true story
Ana laines so true, kinda dumb for people to expect everything to somehow be identical to reality, like Dex wrote above very well
Zac efron killed it here.the intensity.my gahhh
You know it's a good movie when you start to like Ted Bundy
hart 112 Yeah, I’ve heard of the TCC. But in my case I am impressed with how Zac portrays the character.
Nah you and the 67 likes have problems lol
MarvelousMusic I don’t think so. They portrayed him as a likeable man deliberately in the movie because he came across like that to other people. Obviously I don’t like the actual man lol
hart 112 this was purposely done because ted bundy was actually this likeable to other people. he was getting a multitude of fan letters during his trails and quite a few marriage proposals. everyone knew what he was getting tried for, but they just liked ted bundy so much they didn’t believe it or even that they just didn’t care. he was charismatic, attractive, and had “a manner such that you had no choice but to trust him so fully and unconventionally.” by making him so likeable, it can really throw the audience for a loop because they *want* to like him, even though most of them know that it’s confirmed he’s killed over 30 women. it really puts it into perspective of what it was like to meet ted bundy and see him on trial when it *wasnt* confirmed he had killed so many innocent lives.
hart 112 That was the point of the movie. Lmfao
1. Casting Zac Efron as Ted Bundy - Right
Michael Fassbender would have been a good pick too
I can see that, what about Patrick Wilson?
Definite no, right?

me too. she was just a single mother who thought he was this turning point in her life and it turns out he is one of the most notorious and violent serial killers. Liz deserved a lot better and was just at the wrong place and the wrong time :(
Is nobody going to talk about how good Lilly Collins looks now that she gained her weight back after To The Bone?
The judge ruling was not only along the lines of the real life case, it was ver batim
This movie just shows how great of an Actor ,Zac Efron is
I thought that when Liz responded to his question of whether he had ever hurt her by revealing that she had given his name to the police, it was implying that there had been moments when she didn’t feel safe in their relationship, in line with what actually happened.
It’s a great movie.

I saw this and zac actually made me want to feel bad for Ted, but then I remember the horrible things he did and I just can’t stop thinking about the amazing actor zac is
Thoroughly enjoyed this film. Zac and Lily were brilliant.
I wished they never took liberties. Ted Bundy's life is already as exciting, scary, and terrifying that would entice viewers.
It's why I didn't like this movie that much. It weirdly lied about their relationship.
The tapes give the straight facts with no POV; therefore we see Ted for the true psychopath he is
Zac Efron and Lily Collins 🥇 👏🏼👏🏼#respect
At first, I didn't think Zac Efron was the right actor to portray Ted Bundy, but when I realized that women at that time found Bundy to be handsome and charming, I realized that Zac Efron is the perfect cast.
Zac really showed off his acting talent in this film.
Absolutely nailed the role- it's a must watch.
Why do I get more Bundy vibes to Zac than the real Ted Bundy?
the movie was more dramatic and emotional than shown in the court videos. (:
Because one of the the things about bundy is he is extremely good looking. He used it as an advantage and zac efron is a very good looking man and that is why he was such a great choice for the role.
Willows false. False
Ted Bundy was a bad dude and he cared for no one but himself😤

Ummmm duh 🙄 he was a narcissist psychopath.
Jaquelin Espinal Just a curious question but wasnt he not diagnosed as a psychopath? I mean he definitely acts like one but i believe they came up with the conclusion that he was not a psychopath, but something else, dont know what though.

I watch this film last month. It's well written, but some sites commented this film is off topic, like not realistic.
Charlize Theron as Aileen Wournos and now Zac Efron as Ted Bundy. Amazing actors, incredible performances, nailing the portrayal of some of the scariest killers who ever lived.
i just feel so bad for liz being so traumatized knowing she was dating someone who brutally murdered women
While Efron captures his smug confidence, the crazy eyes and twitches are missing. Malchovich as the teddy bear southern judge was a miscast.
True, they should've cast Kyle Gass as the judge.
I think it should've been Kevin from the Office or Keenan from SNL
Agree very odd casting for the judge
They should have dilated his pupils or something. that black pupil look is so significant, it's signature bundy. I also noticed it was absent. He had brown eyes that often looked black, especially in pictures. I have hazel eyes that turn the darkest brown sometimes, giving me the appearance of black pupils. my sister always called it bundy eyes growing up 😂
Carolyne yah I agree. I don’t think Malcovich was a good fit for the judge.. he didn’t do a very good job as the judge.
Charm is the number one sign of a narcissist, a manipulator, a user and a conman. Beware and teach your children how to run.
More things they left out:
- Elizabeth told Bundy that she called the cops and gave his name while they were still in a relationship, she did not wait until they were broken up and they continued dating for a long time after that.
Four people actually gave the Seattle PD Ted's name- the writer Ann Rule, Liz, one of Bundy's professors and another person from the college.
He wont unfortunately, it's a Netflix production. Hollywood are anti Netflix but it's a crying shame as he was outstanding in the role
Zac Efron looks more shockingly evil.
The Deliberate Stranger showed some of the murders. The ones at the Florida State dorm were brutal.

I almost didn’t recognize John Malkovich as the judge.
Ted never cried nor had tears in his eyes during the judges final speech to him. He was angry and defiant the whole time.
He didn’t cry but he wasn’t angry. I believe he told the judge “thank you”
"Hacksaw"

Elite GamingGuru Yeah, like you were suppose to feel sorry for him when he cried in court. Kinda made me sick.
That’s literally the whole point of the movie, we are supposed to feel like Liz. She couldn’t believe that ted was doing all of these terrible things. The movie wasn’t supposed to be gory showing him kill people it was meant to tell the story of his girlfriend who lived through his trial
