Wonder Woman in Injustice was an AH, but there's a reason for that. There are two major differences in the normal DC universe and the Injustice universe, those being The Joker and Steve Trevor. The Joker is obvious, his plan to nuke Metropolis and make Superman feel responsible for it was one thing, the other was Steve Trevor was a Nazi Soldier. He tricked the Amazons and Diana, getting her to go with him only to eventually get caught and declare he would love no woman as much as he loved the Nazi empire. That broke something in Diana, and she's been damaged ever since.

In the DCAU, Wonder Woman started off as someone who didn't know about the world outside of her island, yet still wanted to help. Not to mention that she was raised with a warrior's mentality and an Amazonian's distrust of men. Plus, the constant battles against villains. Along with her temporary exile from her home and mother due to her decision to help mankind. These factors easily could play a role in the anger that Wonder Woman has shown throughout justice league and justice league unlimited, along with the fact that she does care. While Wonder Woman does sometimes need help to control her anger, I like how she does at times control her anger on her own. There is more to Diana than just her anger and warrior mentality. Wonder Woman does care.

In Wonder Woman's defense, the DCAU had an extinction level super villian threat every episode! I can see how being exiled from her home and her mother because she wanted to defend mankind effected her.
She wants to go home but she can't because every week someone like Lex Luthor tries to take the planet over or become a god! That probably gets annoying after a few consecutive weeks of that type of stress.

I mean she is angry when she has to be and definitely sometimes lets her emotions get the better of her but she is also kind, compassionate, caring, stubborn, opinionated, highly competitive and very outgoing. She tries to avoid conflict but if pressed she will engage in battle and will always defend her friends. DCAU Wonder Woman is fearless and focused on her objectives. She will not hide from her actions and always makes herself available to face the consequences. Diana is an unapologetic feminist. With Batman it's the opposite, they have nothing in common that makes them minimally compatible, even the Bat himself says so in the series, and that relationship only magnifies Batman, it doesn't contribute anything to Wonder Woman, it only makes her looks like a bitch from Batman's harem.

I think it was drawing off Diana’s history in Tower of Babel and other similar showing. It got cut from the justice league doom movie-the one where Batman’s plans all nearly kill the Justice League?
In it she says something like. “I actually don’t blame people for their circumstances. For feeling like they need a safeguard against us for themselves and their home.
I also don’t depend on them to save my life in a fight though.” Forgiving Batman in that instance but still wanting him off the league.
It makes sense for a warrior. Because playing in Diana’s weight league means she’s not actually immortal. Soldiers have a reputation for blunt and simple because getting any fancier with it usually gets ugly. Gets lethal.

Batman mellows out because you need that Everyman/human element to keep power in check. Batman even says that to Green Arrow when he gets inducted. The events from Superman TAS had him realize how dangerous he could be if his power was manipulated. Throughout JL, you see him getting angrier in order to keep someone like Luther from using his own power to manipulate everyone to achieve his own selfish ends. Superman keeps teetering more into using his power to stop those ends, but absolute power corrupts, which ties into the Justice Lords storyline. Batman is there to keep him in check.

Batman is pragmatic but is also paranoid of simple ideas, like when Wonder Woman asked him out (more/less). The middle man here was actually Green Arrow during the Cadmus arc. DCAU Wonder Woman was really hit and miss, but the lows were lower than the highs were high.
I'll just get this out of the way first: her crush on Batman was not a good thing. People complain that it often felt like Batman was written as a self-insert, and having the hottest female in the universe crush over him (despite his abrasive personality that rubs everyone else the wrong way) was the cherry on top. It really seemed like it was written more to re-emphasize how cool and suave the writers thought Batman was as opposed to giving WW any real character depth.
But other than that, we had stuff like her immature squabbling with Hawkgirl and her over-the-top anger and it's really not a great take on the character. I mean, what reason did she have for taking Hawkgirl's portrayal more personally than the others, other than that they bickered throughout most of the series? And why did they bicker in the first place?
Then there's the fact that WW was treated as the team rookie in the beginning instead of being one of the elder statespeople that other heroes look up to, and how she didn't get to earn her status as a distinguished Amazon among her peers and instead secretly escaped from the island with the stolen armor.
I'm just shaking my head thinking about how they could've written a better version of this character. But to the show's credit, Paradise Lost was a good, emotional episode with palpable heartbreak.

While I feel Diana has her reasons for holding onto her distrust and her grudge against Hawkgirl because of Hawkgirl proving she wasn't throwing in her lot with the league and proving her loyalty with them, she is still that naive warrior princess in that she doesn't consider the fact that while yes, while she cares about loyalty above all else, and Hawkgirl also values that kind of loyalty, Diana never considered that Hawkgirl's loyalty was first to her people, not to a bunch of people she only met like a year ago
As for the rest of her anger issues throughout the show, she had never had a taste for how the grain of life ran outside of themyscira, while she got that world ending threats were a once every so often kind of thing, she never got that things just below that that most heroes deal with on the daily happen well, on the daily. For the longest time she felt distant because she didn't want to get attached to anything, but then she saw that if she continues to pursue the ideal of seeing justice be done, she might well be here for god knows how long, and that ticked her off that helping to continue seeing justice be done in the world outside of her tiny little island wasn't ever going to have just one easy fix. That's why she was particularly angry in that opening of the episode where she was like, "I just wanted one day off where I could pretend that the ideal goal I so greatly want to see accomplished could actually happen without me being there to keep it going" and that's also why in that same vein of anger, therein lies her reason why she started to get truly attached to the league and some of it's members in particular, namely Bruce and John, and why Hawkgirl's betrayal continued to hurt, because once she had "accepted" that helping to bring justice to man's world wasn't just a one and done job, she began to see that the league truly were her new sister/s(and brothers) in her new isolated floating fortress in the sky and she would be able to rely on them to always help her see out that ideal goal, and when Hawkgirl, a women, the kind of person she had grew and known for being able to trust to the ends of the earth for the last how ever many thousands of years on her island home, when hawkgirl betrayed the league, she particularly betrayed Diana in her mind because of that context

The angry DCU Wonder Woman is a result of a drive to focus on her as a warrior Amazon around early 2000. This is when she went to using a sword a lot as opposed to relying on her powers and lasso. She is comparable to Superman in power, but she needs a sword where as he does not. Wonder Woman is an angry agent of peace. The saddest scene is in JLA Dark where she stops a person plagued with visions of monsters from hurting others. When the victim says they see monsters, Wonder Woman says the only monster she sees is the victim- this is the bad ass Wonder Woman who is tougher than any of the makes around her. That message is peace is a drive to be strong and sarcastic.

    3. I love how you edit, especially your endings. They feel very narrative and poetic. Reminds me of the old amvs where folks would edit together characters from different movies to tell a story.❤
