Great work!!!!❤️
Thank you sir! You just made my day :)
I wish I had friends that were interested in these games like back when I was in high school, it would give me more incentive to start painting minis again now that we have awesome tutorials on RUclips. Not that I watch other channels Sorastro, I think of you the whole time, I swear! Another awesome episode, cheers!
Ha ha - thanks mate :)
Just paint minis dude ! I don’t get involved in the gaming side just love the process of painting , nothing wrong with that
It's absolutely ridiculous how good this is. I started painting minis after over a 20-year break thanks to your videos and have chosen those LOTR figures. Still working my way up through the more generic minis, but can't wait to move on to the heroes. Thank you for reigniting a long lost spark!!!
Thanks a lot Janusz! That makes me very happy to hear :)
Following this guide I’ve finally managed to paint Arwen (as of 10 minutes ago) Thank you Sorastro 🙌 You’re a painting hero!
Awesome! Thank you 😁
This is actually amazing! The whole painting process was masterfully done, and extremely relaxing to watch :)
Thanks so much J V! I'm really glad you liked it :)
I'm painting now Aragorn, beautiful results thanks to you Sorastro! Learned a lot.
Oh great! Thank you 😀
Wow! Thanks for getting back to this series!
She’s my next one to paint after I finish Gandalf...
No problem Louis! I'll be speed painting most of the "minions" in the next episode.. :)
I have run out of words to describe how great your work is!
Thanks a lot Steve! Those words will do just fine :)
I'm pretty happy about how my Arwen looks similar to yours despite I having painted her before your video was out. I went for the mettalic colors though. Looking forward to the villains too! Your work is awesome and it helps me improve a lot! Thanks for it all.
Thanks Lucas! I really appreciate that :)
like those green highlights.
Thank you! I tried to keep things quite natural looking and not too over-the-top.. :)
Just picked the LOTR game up. Been watching your tutorials to get some great tips.
Thanks Mat! I hope you find them useful :)
Ooowweee another awesome video guide!! This channel is underrated, you help those people who not secure how to start such a hard hobby. Thank and keep up the good work!!
Thanks a lot! I guess it's better to be underrated than overrated..! :)
Very beautiful - thank you for sharing another great painting video 😊
Thanks a lot Kim! I'm glad you liked it :)
I didn't think this year's new video would be released so soon)))
Very much pleased everyone!!!
Great job, gorgeous elf, like a live one👍
Thank you very much! (I actually finished this video on Dec31st, but it's been on Patreon early access since.. :) )
Another fantastic video. Always look forward to see new videos from you. Ever thought face to face classes
Thanks a lot Steve! I've never really thought about doing "live" classes to be honest, as I really enjoy the video-making process.. :)
Great work! Cant wait to try it.
Thank you very much! 😀
love the color choices for the gown and gloves great video
Thanks a lot buddy! 😀
We missed you brother! Always a pleasure to see a new vid from you!
Thanks a lot mate! :)
What a stunning mini! 👏🏻
Thanks! :)
Not enough you did a bang up job, with a limited palette too. Thank you, Happy New Year, and please stay safe!
Cheers Rob! Happy New Year to you :)
@@Sorastro Oh forgot to mention the new album is epic sir. Well done!
Oh great - thanks mate! I'm really glad you enjoyed the album 😀
Looks amazing Sorastro! Keep up the good work!
Thanks a lot my friend! :)
Great job painting the figure it looks great
Thanks mate! :)
Excellent as always
Thank you kindly Alan! :)
Cant wait till we get this soundtrack on itunes. Arwen looks great
Thanks a lot Jorge! I'm possibly aiming to get the next album out later on this year, and it will certainly include all of the LOTR music... :)
Charming, as always
I just got the core set for Christmas, I’ve wanted it for a while now. I want to get the expansion too, but it’s so hard to find now that I can actually play it!
Doh! I'm sure FFG will get some reprints out there... :)
I'm not sure whether I happy to have these videos to learn from or depressed that I'll never be able to reach this unreal level of aptitude. Well done.
I do wish Sorastro would make a few more technical videos where he describes how he uses the wet pallette (or why he in some videos doesn't), how he thins paints, etc. I know the first videos describe some of it, but I could really use a good guide.
Hi Troels! I'd be happy to make a short video on how I set the wet palette up etc. (The reason I sometimes don't use one is just to keep things simple when I'm presenting a more beginner-oriented guide is all). :)
@@Sorastro Thanks for responding, and thanks for the many, many great videos.
I personally think a "Basics" video would go a long way to us mere mortals that are getting into or back into the hobby. I painted like an idiot in my teens, and only recently picked up the hobby again. In no small part due to being inspired your KDM series.
I saw your videos where you suggest to thin the paint to a skimmed milk consistency, but wasn't sure how to apply that to the wet palette. And I'm still not entirely sure whether the paint should be so thin as to allow the zenithal prime to shine through or if you are just using it as a guide.
There are fractions of tips throughout your videos, but I'd personally love a single video / series you could refer to when you want to keep your main videos below 1 hour :D
Yes!
Awesome stuff, been following all your vids for these minis, dude! Looking forward to the minions, hint, hint! :)
Ha ha thanks buddy! I'm producing a minions video this month.. 😁
Magnifique !! 😍
Thank you kindly! 😀
The Evenstar has never looked better!
Thank you sir! :)
Very nice job!
Thank you very much! 🤗
beautiful as always sir!
Thank you very much! :)
wonderful you are really the best in the field
Thanks Dengar! I'm certainly not the best painter in the world, but I accept your compliment and I'm glad you liked the video :)
I love it! ♥️
Thank you my friend! 😀
Ever thought of using a toothpick to do details on the eyes? You can do the eye color and the iris fairly easily using a tooth pick as well as highlights. You need a steady hand though
Hi! I tried using a toothpick once ages ago and it wasn't really for me. Might give it another go one day though :)
Outstanding work Sorastro :)
Thank you very much! :)
Master
I don't even own this yet but watched all the way through. Thanks
Thank you! I really appreciate that 😀
wow!
incredible job, especially the face!
Thanks a lot Evan! I really wanted the face to almost have a bit of a glow about it.. :)
@@Sorastro well Sir, you suceeded :)
@@jernejpeternel7415 Thank you Jernej! :)
I love your way of painting. No washes used GG
Thank you Stoneheart! :)
Thank you master !
You're welcome Raph! :)
Awesome videos! Can anyone shout a good substitute for the Daler Rowney Flow Enhancer for paint brushing? Currently out of stock on amazon and FLGS can't get a hold of it. Ones I keep seeing are for airbrushes. Much appreciated!
Thanks Jason! You could try the Windsor and Newton one.. :)
WOW Grate!!
Thank you Rafallo! :)
Trying to paint the eyes was the biggest mistake i made when painting my minis. And that was on a mini x4 size of this one. Can't even imagine how to paint such tiny eyes
Hi, really love your videos, do you have any plans of the dark souls board game painting? Thank you very much!
Thank you very much! But no, I'm afraid I don't have plans to cover Dark Souls. Sorry! :)
From editing to actual painting, every part of this is an absolute masterpiece. Kudos to you sir !
PS : Ardennes is pronounced Ar-den. There's no "nes" sound at the end. :-)
Thanks a lot Mathieu! I'll remember that pronunciation for next time! :)
Your brush keep such a fine point, what brush did you use for the face etc?
HI! I use a Rosemary & Co Series 8 (Size 2). The specific brush I used on the face was quite old and had slimmed down a bit! :)
We need Lloyds of London to insure Sorastro’s hands, I’m thinking 2 million!
Ha ha - thanks :D
Brilliant ! Can I ask what brush you use mate ?
Thanks a lot! I use a Rosemary & Co Series 8 (Size 2). (There should be a link in the video description.) :)
I have been searching for this song on spotify but I can't find it. What is the name of the song Sorastro?
Hi! I haven't yet published the music that I wrote for this series, but I'm aiming to include it on my next album later this year.. 😀
Could you also do a Captain Rex from Star Wars legion
Hi! I will most likely cover Rex with a PDF guide.. :)
Dear Sorastro, pls paint Nemesis Board Game
nice vid
Thank you very much! :)
Do you think you will ever do tutorials for GWs Middle Earth SBG?
Hi! I actually painted a fair bit of the GW LOTR stuff years ago, but I don't think I'll be covering it here on the channel as I think one LOTR game at a time is enough for me! :)
@@Sorastro understandable. Im sure these videos take quite a bit of work. Would love to see your work on the GW lotr stuff, do you have it posted anywhere? Imgur, instagram etc.?
Again a great video as always, why do you add black to almost every base color? And I love this serie!
Thanks a lot Werner! That's a good question! I often like to add black to darken, but mainly to desaturate the tone. That way I can create a greater sense of depth and contrast, as I gently bring the saturation back up with the mid-tones and highlights. :)
@@Sorastro thanks I understand
@@Sorastro and why black instead of a complementary color to desaturate?
You certainly can use complimentary colours to desaturate; I just didn't want the green robes to turn out too brown/muddy looking :)
One thing I want to know..................how many paint pots do you have? I mean it seems like you have so many!
Ha yes.. I've never actually counted but I do have quite a lot of paints.. :)
As always, first like, then I watch the video :D :D
Lol thanks buddy! :)
And you should get Discord
I actually started one quite recently, but it's just for my patrons (partly to keep things manageable). :)
could you translate your video in french please .because i am belgian and i don t understand al your videos
Hi Dengar! The next funding milestone on Patreon is actually for me to pay someone to add translated subtitles for the videos in a range of languages, so let's see if I get there... :)
@@Sorastro thank you for reply
No problem 😀
23 different bottles of paint to paint one tiny figure you have to be kidding
